January 28th, 2010. The day Kira fell.

Teru had told himself, over the past month, that the date didn't matter. He'd had time to come to terms with what had happened, or from his perspective would happen. He'd accepted it. He wasn't in mourning for the new world any longer.

Still, now that the day had come, he ended up sitting in the popcorn room, gazing at that one name - Light Yagami, Slytherin. He'd brought a candle, but it was just resting in his hands, not lit. Yagami didn't deserve it. Did he?

[[ooc: post is closed for now, unless you really want to talk to him while he's brooding. He'll be more ...interesting... after Wednesday's had a word with him, though. And it's open, to people who want to be - drunkenly rambled at and offered celery. This is probably the only time you will ever see him get trashed, yes.]]

Rika also sent Matsuda a plain card wishing him a Merry Christmas.

Soichiro Yagami stood outside the popcorn room, looking on. After some time thinking on it, he had concluded that he was bored with this place, and figured that it'd be best if he left. Permamently.

His ever faithful dog Yukiko stood at his side, waiting.

"Ready, Yukiko?"

A bark.

"Okay, let's go."

As they crossed the threshold, there was a flash of light and a new name appeared on the plaque:

Soichiro Yagami

Jing is a thief. He lives to steal secrets and the representations of grief or pain from their owners. Hogwarts is rife with such secrets, but there is the matter of deciding just what to steal and when and whether he'd truly get away with it.

Then, there is the open challenge he has out to another thief, but the time isn't right yet. So many things happen that keep that particular prize from achieving the value it should have before it's reclaimed.

He's seen the compy lab and wondered about it. Does it hold secrets to steal? The best way to find out is to try. And Jing is one to be rather direct, issuing warnings of his intent. The lab is perfect for this as well.

A brief introductory session, interrupted by a tapestry behind him and the house elf showing him the system bursting into flames, and Jing understands much more than he was shown. In the manner of mischief common to boys and thieves, he makes a post under the name "ODorobou," since he is not one to hide just who and what he is.

Everyone has secrets, things they hide--or think they do--that they don't want anyone else to know. The problem with those secrets is the harder you try to hide them, the more valuable and more vulnerable they become. Unburden yourself. Reveal your secrets and be free of them.

Another fire behind him makes him decide to wait elsewhere, but he'll check back periodically to see just what secrets he collects.

This may be one of the easier heists he's pulled, if it works.

Some time before the baby sun appeared, Rika sends out a few owls.

Giving them an hour to reply/get ready for the picnic, Rika heads towards the kitchen to prepare everything with the help of a few house elves. Along with some tea, lemonade, ham sandwiches, and other picnic foods, Rika has a house elf make a banner she can set out to easily signal her location.

Once that was all done and time was getting close Rika went outside to set down a blanket, put the banner up, and wait with two picnic baskets at her sides.

Coraline Jones, deputy Gryffindor prefect, had been given her first mission.

Unfortunately, she didn't have much to go on. All she knew was that a man with beautiful hair needed to be rescued from monsters, or given food if he didn't want to be rescued yet. And the monsters could be anyone.

She wondered whether Mr Joe was a prince. Traditionally it was princesses who had beautiful hair and were kidnapped by monsters, of course, but she didn't see any reason that it couldn't happen to men as well.

Anyway, she had to start somewhere. And the easiest place to find a person at Hogwarts was probably the Great Hall. Everyone went there for meals. So she was sitting at a table near the doors, wearing her offical deputy prefect's hat and watching the people who came in. The bag of granola was on the bench next to her. She'd been tempted to use it as a cushion for a better view, but Mr Joe wouldn't want to eat granola that had been sat on.

[[ooc: I may have to sock Coraline and Mikami at some point, but for now, this is open to all.]]

In the Great Hall there are a few posters on the walls, and Rika also posts the same advertisement on the computers. It took a bit longer than Rika expected, but hopefully Coraline will forgive her.

Game Club Signup!
Open to all interested in joining an informal club where we play various games such as the millionaire game or zombie tag, among many others I have collected. The goal of this club is to have fun and organize events so that everyone may have a good time. Suggestions are welcome as the majority of people in this school are adults, so I may not be able to prepare or think of a game idea everyone can enjoy. *Please remember that any adult games suggested must be child friendly*

This game club is based on the one I was a part of back home, so tentative rules for members are as follows:

#1- Aim only for first place.
#2- Make every endeavor to win.

I will owl all interested in being members the date, time, and location of our first club meeting once I see how popular this club could become. Any questions or comments may be sent to me either though owls or the computer post. Please leave your name if you are interested in joining so that you may be contacted later.

-Rika Furude-

On the posters, below this message is a space for people to write their name to sign up, otherwise it is the same as the computer post. (Rika even wrote in blue for the posters to match the post.)

1) How will you make your House a better place?
2) Are you experienced? Have you ever been experienced?
3) Teamwork is important. How do you get along with the members of your House?
4) If you were to get your ass kicked, who would you want to do it and why?
5) Who is your hero and why?
6) Where my lasers at?

Rules for the Debate:

A. Any persons currently nominated for Prefect may choose to answer or not answer any questions asked.

B. Any Hogwarts student or staff member, including those running for Prefect, may pose additional questions to any or all nominees. If you would like to ask nominees questions, please ask them now ((OOCly: post them in a comment or comments to this post. Be sure to indicate in your subject line that your comment contains questions, and if they are directed to specific candidates, please indicate that, as well.)) Keep in mind that nominees are not required to answer any questions. Voters may choose to take failure to answer any way they would like.

C. Question answering begins immediately, and lasts until the time the Polls go up, which will be approximately 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009. ((OOCly that's 8 pm Eastern Daylight Time. ICly it wouldn't make any sense to specify a time zone since they're all at Hogwarts XD ))

Evan blinked, looking down at his hands and realizing that, somehow, he was back in his own adult body. His hair wasn't the wild mop that he'd had in Sunnyvale Institution and he had his real clothes back.

As used as he was by now to regaining consciousness in absolutely strange situations, he honestly expected something different to happen after having sacrificed himself in his mother's womb.

He didn't have any answers as to what result it had gotten him -- whether his mother, Lenny, Tommy -- Kayleigh or even Thumper were at all okay. God, he hoped so.

Evan let out a breath and then another, collecting himself. He was more than used to this crap by now. He would deal. He had to. Looking around and getting his bearings, Evan's eyes tracked across a desk with parchment and a quill sitting ready.

Noting the sconces on the walls, Evan put two and two together and figured he had possibly gone back quite a few centuries more than he'd meant to, thus possibly erasing himself from the timeline altogether.

Well, hell, it was still the intended result. Evan walked over to the table, noting a series of questions written on the parchment. A survey? What the hell year is it, anyway?"

Picking up the quill and playing with it, one-handed, Evan read over the series of questions, figuring he obviously had some time to kill. He might as well write something in the meantime. Maybe that paper he had been meant to turn in before Kayleigh's funeral. After the questions, of course.
This can't be any weirder than anything else I've done... )

Which, the mun decided, took place on the 11th, so as not to interfere with the sex bomb plot.

It was a most unusual battle, certainly. After all, children did not normally battle in Kitchen Stadium.

However, it wasn't every day that Kaga found two willing participants.

Pippi Longstocking and Rika Furude battled against each other for the right to be called 'Chibi Iron Chef', an honorary title, but a title nonetheless.

As they were so young, Kaga summoned two of his minions chefs, Iron Chef Tako and Iron Chef Dwight Schrute, to assist the challengers. Iron Chef Schrute assisted and advised Pippi Longstocking, and Iron Chef Tako assisted Rika Furude.

Kaga unveiled the theme ingredient to be bananas, chosen for their kid-friendliness (and cause he loves bananas).

Furude managed to convince Tako to help her a little more than necessary (and technically more than the rules allowed), but she looked so cute and innocent she got away with it. Tako, for his part, insisted on adding plenty of nutmeg to the dishes. (He also had a bit of a fanboy: Beowulf showed up to be very loud and cheer Tako on.)

Longstocking made a mess, but surprisingly her pet monkey Mr. Nilssen was a well trained cook as well. Not to mention her guinea pig to her mostly dessert laden dishes. (Not that Kaga was complaining.) thankfully She mostly ignored her adviser's help and worked independently.

Her dishes consisted of:

Banana bread with whipped cream and strawberries, a cake built of pancakes with bananas and chocolate syrup and more whipped cream between the layers, and banana pudding!

Five judges judged instead of the usual four, to avoid a tie. Among the judges were the archangel Michael, a wanderer named Ginko, and Princess Peach had been invited back. (Gotta fill the Bimbo du Jour quota, after all).

In the end, it was a close match but Pippi Longstocking won, 3-2, to take the title Chibi Iron Chef.

[[OOC: All permissions given by the respective muns. They also get partial credit for adding details. Hooray for Pippi!]]

Outside of the popcorn room walks Rika wearing a hospital gown. To Hogwarts Rika wasn't gone for long, but it has been around two months for her. In the time that she's been gone, Rika has learned to accept what happens to her better. Instead of being depressed that she is here once again, Rika is glad that she can still play with her friends here, and the unknown wait before she returns again does not bother her as it had before. A lot happened in those two months, but on the outside Rika is the same as ever.

Despite the hospital gown, Rika is psychically fine and would have been released from the hospital soon after some observation on her condition. Smiling, Rika heads in the direction of Gryffindor to either get a new set of clothes or her wand.

((Shinigami Eyes would probably see a more natural lifespan on Rika now that she has defeated her fate.))

With Yukiko's care being taken of, Soichiro owled Rika, saying he was ready to head out with her.

Truth be told, he was a bit apprehensive. What would he see when he got to Tokyo? What would Rika see at Hinamizawa? At least he had the consolation that the disguise spell worked.

Soichiro waited for Rika in the Gryffindor common room, near the fireplace.

Preperation and calling participants to the stage )

After waiting a bit in front of the short stack of cotton blankets with her ritual hoe, which has a golden head and red ropes that tie bells to the hoe, Rika thinks that enough time has passed to gather all the participants that wish to drift cotton and/or see her ritual dance. Ginko, who has his back turned to the audience beats the drum a final time and Rika begins.

Rika grips the hoe with both hands, moving the hoe to a perfectly horizontal position, before lifting it above her head while doing a little spin. Rika then sharply swings the hoe down and turns around. She lets go of the hoe with one hand and make a sweeping motion over until she is facing the audience again. Going back to the hoe she turns again, now facing the blankets and swings the hoe over her shoulders to rip open the top blanket. She ends the dance by bowing to the audience and announces that they may now take a handful of cotton to ball up and float in the lake.

Rika lays the fake hoe she made with magic behind the stage and Ginko starts the cotton drifting by collecting his and heads towards the lake. Rika eventually makes her way down to the lake with a cotton ball of her own.

((ooc: feel free to have characters talk to Rika or Ginko, or neither of them))

The day of the Cotton Drifting Festival has arrived. Early in the morning house elves were outside helping Rika set up. Around noon the construction comes to an end and the house elves left so that the festival may start. When participants to the festival arrive they will see a boundary line of flags posted around within sight of each other, this is set up to deter anyone from disturbing those that wish to be just be outside or structures like A's greenhouse. The area is still large enough that participants can have a large scale battle- in terms of a water balloon fight, that is. Scattered inside this area are many buckets filled with water balloons, the buckets will fill up with new water balloons magically when emptied, and some makeshift shelters made from tables and small stone walls amongst other things that may be used for cover. Near a few of the makeshift shelters are two or three flying broomsticks for anyone to use if they wish to take their battle into the air.

There is a small stage set up, but there is nothing on it yet.

(ooc: I may be in an out for a while, but I'll be on for sure later tonight when I post the second half of the festival. Another thing to note in the scenery is that Yuuri has a curry stand and some tables set out. No set of rules are given so characters can play however they wish, although there may be an explanation of the game for characters that do not know how to play.)

Posters

There are several posters now around the building advertising an event, although the amount doesn't go overboard. Each poster says the same thing:

Cotton Drifting Festival on June 19!
All welcome to participate in this event.

This festival will be held outside in an area around the lake and the main events are a free-for-all water balloon fight during the day, then the cotton drifting when it becomes dark.

Have fun~!☆
Furude Rika

(ooc: I meant to post this on the 12th and it's already the 17th... wow, I don't know where that time went)

Soon will be the night of the Cotton Drifting festival. It will be a little bit strange to celebrate it outside of Hinamizawa, but not necessarily in a bad way. There isn't a river on the grounds, but Rika finds that the lake could work. It would be a lot of work to do, but Rika saw the many gazebos the house elves built, so she knew that they are able to do the worst part in setting up the festival.

Rika walks around the grounds of Hogwarts nearby the lake so that she can look closely at the area most of the festival should be in. The weather is good outside today, so she quietly enjoys the sunlight. Perhaps a picnic would be fun some other time, she thinks.
