Kurama ignored Mello's bitching for the time being. He was more interested in Matt's toy. "That' outdated? I'm guessing nobody plays on the super nintendo anymore, huh?"

"Only the hardcore Nintendo hags." Matt shamelessly raised his hand. "Unless you count SNES games on the Virtual Console."

Figures. I'll let them babble for a while, I suppose. It'll be easier than shutting them up for now.

"Like an emulator on your computer? I've heard about that kind of thing. Does it work any good?"

"Sort of, except this one's legal. It's a program on the Nintendo Wii that lets you play older games that you can buy on there, like the NES and the N64. I heard they're even going to release some Commodore 64 games on there."

Kurama nodded, putting that information away. He'd clocked maybe more hours than all of his friends combined trying to beat Amanuma's score at Goblin City... Games fascinated the hell out of him. It was a perfection thing.

"So, for Nintendo crap, this Wii is the way to go? What about those other systems? Like old Sega stuff?"

"Sega no longer makes systems. Just games. The big names in video game consoles are Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft. The current generation is XBox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii. The Wii's still trying to keep up with demand, people aren't buying PS3s cause it's a heavy investment with little games of value, and the 360 had a headstart anyway. There are also the handhelds. Sony has a PSP, and Nintendo has the DS, which they just upgraded to a DSi."

"I knew I should've invested in that stuff," he sighed. He noticed Mello had been particularly quiet and poked the back of his head. "What's the matter, blondie? Not a fan of nerd culture?"

"Culture?" I snort. "Is that what you call it? And here, I thought it was avoiding reality."

Yeah...I'm gonna catch it for that.

Matt didn't say anything. All he did was lift his goggles up and glare at Mello with unfiltered eyes.

"Mello, you say that like there aren't video game and comic book characters brought to life right here in this school," Kurama said pointedly. "You're in a different castle, princess."

"You're senile, old man," I say flatly to Kurama. And to Matt, I just raise an eyebrow and return the glare.

"I saw Princess Peach. She's a student here." Matt kept glaring at Mello.

"The previous Herbology professor was a character from the Superman comics," Kurama pointed out. "I wouldn't be surprised if someone came from a world where the three of us are from a cartoon or something." He grinned wickedly. "So much for 'reality.'"

"You both are completely delusional, you realize that, don't you?" I ask. God, how did I end up surrounded by this level of crazy?

Luckily for Matt, his mun also plays Sunflora. Who happened to be passing by, out for more yummy sunshine, as she called marmalade.

"There's a freaking Pokemon. Right there." Matt blinked and pulled his goggles down. "Wait. A Sunflora?" Not a very popular Pokemon.

"Delusional. Coming not only from a guy who knows for a fact that Shinigami exist in his world, but who also hangs out regularly with a demon. Which, might I add, is a fictional creature." He squinted at Mello. "Or perhaps this is all your delusion. Perhaps... I'm just a figment of your imagination."

I raise an eyebrow. "Now, if you were a creation of my mind, why on earth would I make you so utterly deluded and insane?" I ask sweetly.

Now Matt's the one tuning Mello and Kurama out. His fixation is on the talking sunflower making a mess at her table.

"Obviously I'm a reflection of your shattered psyche. you can't deal with your own insanity, so you project it on other people." He crossed his arms and looked down at Mello as they walked. "Also why I'm taller than you. I suppose being as vertically challenged as you are you'd want a tall projection. Not to mention wiser, more graceful, better looking..."

"Oh, you have me all figured out, pops," I say sarcastically. "Are you done stroking your ego? I really don't want to see the climax of this show."

"You sure? It's pretty hot." His grin widened a bit and he reached back for Matt, tugging at the back of his jacket. "Come on, Matt, she'll be here when you get back. If we're gonna get, we've gotta get now."

"I think I'd sooner gouge my eyes out with a dull spork," I say flatly. "And, Matt, if you'd rather oggle the flower, we can leave you behind."
