I glare at both of them. "If I didn't know you were my friends, I'd have to wonder." I find a large wicker basket with a plain fabric lining that looks like my 'severed limbs' would fit in it and make the same arrangements Kurama had made.

"You asked for our opinions, not good opinions." Matt was itching either to get back at his game or in the car.

From:

"And now that our errands are seen to, I suggest we find some lowly humans to harass." A pause. "No offense to the two of you, of course." It was rather easy to forget that his companions were humans, after all.

I laugh a little and pull out a chocolate bar. "Well, there's a backhanded compliment."

Matt shrugged and led the way back to the car.

Sure enough, the one passerby that went by the car didn't even notice it.

He quickly started undoing the second ward, the one directed to stop wizards, so Mello and Kurama could get in while he undoes the first one.

Kurama hopped in the back seat, lounging again as he had before. "It would be un-foxlike of me not to administer one or two of those every so often," he grinned. "Matt, how aggressive a driver are you?"

I roll my eyes and take shot-gun anyways. "Thanks for the vote of confidence, gramps."

From:

Aaaand the last of it was off. "Pretty good. Would much rather drive than shoot, though I could pull a drive AND shoot, if need be."

From:

"One thousand points to the house of your choice for every Yakuza jackass you hit with this thing."

From:

"What is the point of that system, anyways?" I ask, pulling a package out of one of my pockets and enlarging it so the extra clips and bullets are full sized again.

"I think back in the day it was some sort of merit system. No one bothers anymore, I think." Matt slid into the driver's seat and started the car.

"It promotes school spirit. Don't make me go all 'listen to your teacher' on the two of you punks."

"Bite me, old man," I mutter, checking over my equipment.

Matt only took it carefully to get out of where they parked. Then he started peeling and going faster.

"You'd taste terrible, Mello."

The sun was inching closer to the horizon as they drove, and Kurama kept a careful eye out for victims. So far it was just the usual evening street crowd, but he figured opportunities would arise as they got closer to the city center.

"And you probably have rabies," I say. Everything seems to have survived the changes in size. I slide a magazine into the 9mil and put a bullet in the pipe before resetting the safety on it.

Matt ignored them both until they got closer to the heart of the city, then he said, "All right, keep an eye out for someone."

From:

"Just keep me away from water and bright lights and we should be fine," he grinned, flicking the back of Mello's head just because. Then his eye caught the telltale bad haircut and cheap suit of a midlevel flunky. "Matt, target at two o'clock."

Why the fucking hell do I think I like that rotten kitsune? "One of these days, we're going to test that no kill spell," I growl at him,the gun ready in my lap.

Matt slowed down slightly, enough that the targets could see the car in all it's glory.

Then he flipped them off and gunned it.

Kurama had to dig his claws into the headrest of Mello's seat to keep from flying backwards when Matt hit the gas, but it was worth it for the enraged look on the gansters' faces. He watched them as they flew by, gesturing to each other wildly and then running for their own (extremely expensive looking) car.

He laughed, righting himself so he could watch the pursuit easier. "Well, attention achieved! How long do you think they'll chase us for?"

I laugh. "Depends on how good my aim is today." I twist to look out the back window. "So, low level or you think they have guns?" Given that guns are rather hard to come buy, the odds are pretty even, I'd think.

"Till we lose 'em or shoot 'em! Let me know if they do have guns, I'll need to make sure they don't shoot out my mirrors!" Matt turned sharply to the left.
