She could smile again.

And actually smile, not fake it for people.

And she wasn't so afraid to be by herself anymore, even though she suspected Aigis or Koromaru would be stalking following her still.

She also had been practicing her spells. So Fuuka felt brave enough to be in the Great Hall by herself again, eating dinner, keeping her tracking sense open so she knew when someone was coming in.

And of course, her Evoker was at hand.

At one point, Kuronue would have been quite pleased to meet a demon with as much capacity for violence as Kuronue himself.

Now all he felt was disgust and that horrible sinking feeling in his gut that may also have been the fact that he was falling from the sky, forced from there by a cluster of evil little bombs that tittered back and forth between each other. He sliced through them with his sickle, detonating others with the thin wire connecting his hand to the weapons.

Righting himself with the aid of his wings, he glided to the nearest tower steeple and perched on the very tip of it, folding his wings against his back. He tucked his weapons on his belts and they settled, the metal warm from the utter heat of the bombs.

Karasu smiled, at least, Kuronue thought he did. His eyes suggested it. Standing on the roof of the tower closest to Kuronue, the other demon had his hands in his pockets, his hair and tails of his coat swirling about him with the force of the wind. Kuronue scowled, tilting his head down a little so the sun shielded his eyes and he didn't have to look at that smile any more.

"So," Karasu began, his voice carrying easily. "Have you been well, Kuronue?"

"Piss off," Kuronue snapped.

Karasu chuckled.

"I liked you then, maybe, but not now." Kuronue had been stupid to trust Karasu in the Netherworld. There, Karasu had pursued Kurama too. Only through Kuronue, who was only too happy to tell a curious demon stories of their time together.

Only then Karasu hadn't been black haired and wore a mask. Why had no one warned him that he could change hair colours at will? In death, Karasu had been blond.

Kuronue could feel that smile widen. He shuddered and ducked his head, looking down at the tiles on the roof.

"No. You still like me now. Me, my body...my touch. Just like when we were dead, hm?" Karasu's voice was right by his ear, hands (familiar hands) caressed the exposed skin on his abdomen, down further. They tingled, a burning sensation like too-cold ice drifting along with them.

Kuronue grunted, closed his eyes. Fuck.

Karasu hummed, a quiet little satisfied sound and his hands fell away. Soon after his presence did too, and Kuronue turned to watch the demon jump from rooftop to rooftop. His eyes followed him until Karasu stopped at the banks of the lake and then closed. "Fuck!" he screamed, grinding his teeth.

Shaking himself a little, Kuronue hopped down from the steeple and went looking for a distraction, keeping to the roofs.

(OOC: Pick your poison. And, yes, they were erm, acquainted, to say the least, while dead.)

The day was cooler than it had been recently, clouds obscuring the sun, promising rain, though just when that would happen remained to be seen as those clouds that became heavy enough to begin shedding their load onto the earth were shifted off, moved to another part of the sky, leaving lighter gray clouds hanging over Hogwarts, as though there were some conspiracy of weather and location to tease only, to hint and promise, but not to fulfill.

With his case on his back and Boukensha comfortably in the collar of his kimono, Kusuriyuri wandered out onto the grounds. His feet were mostly healed now, only some redness hidden beneath his tabi socks. His walk revealed nothing of the injuries he'd suffered at Karasu's hands, though a ward was between his fingers should it be needed. He would not allow himself to be so injured again, if he could do anything to stop it.

A lanky, black-clad figure separated itself from the Forbidden Forest. At first, the flowing trench coat made Kusuriyuri think of Karasu, but the wide-brimmed hat cleared up that misconception, though the figure moved with the grace of not just a hunter but a consummate predator, someone for whom everyone and everything was prey, waiting to be judged, tested.

Kusuriyuri watched as the figure approached.

The figure reached for his hat, touching the brim as he bowed slightly when he was close enough for politeness. "I have heard of you," he said, his voice cultured, smooth, polite. "You are the medicine peddler. It is a pleasure. I am Kuroudo Akabane."

Kusuriyuri returned the bow, his expression curious. "This one is called Kusuriyuri." He tilted his head a little, feeling Boukensha's head against his cheek. "You are...?"

"A Transporter," Akabane replied. He slipped his hands into his pockets, his expression curious, weighing the one before him. "You are not human, are you?" he asked.

Kusuriyuri looked deeper. "Nor are you, are you?" he replied.

Akabane chuckled, reaching for his hat again. "I don't think you will bore me, but I do have something to do at the moment. If you don't mind, I should like to meet again sometime."

"Saa," Kusuriyuri replied, deliberately vague, watching as Akabane moved toward the castle before returning to his mind to his original purpose, to gather plants to replenish the ones he'd used to heal himself and Kurama.

Magic made it considerably easier to shift the wooden sculpture he'd carved down to the Great Hall. He placed it just beside the door. There was a lot of traffic there, he'd noticed, student had to eat, after all, though some took their food elsewhere. It was a large statue, about the same size as Apos, which seemed short to everyone else here.

He took a blue orb from his pocket, blew on it until it was yellow, and set it in the wooden hands that reached out to him. There was a pole through the wrists of those hands, and through other places of the faceless woman he'd carved. She was like a more violent rendition of Saint Sebastian with poles through her neck and most joints, forcing her into a kneeling, beckoning position. He'd even carved the blood, the gore of the wound in her neck.

He caressed her face, carved into an expression of agony, and pressed his lips to hers.

Moving back, he tilted his head at her, smiling happily. She was beautiful. Placing his hand on the sword at his hip, he walked down the hall a little, hid himself well in the shadows of the hall. He wanted to see what kind of reception she gained, how long it took them to destroy her, move her. He also wanted to see if anyone would take the Spore, if they would become like him and regenerate limbs in seconds, live forever.

(OOC: Feel free to inspect the statue, or the orb. The orb (or Time Fruit/ Time Spore) itself, when yellow, can be taken into people through osmosis. It'll sink into skin on first touch. It turns the victim immortal, regardless of gender, since he's been working on alterations to work around that little issue--and also because I can count the females at Hogwarts on one hand. Once absorbed, if Apos embraces his male side or brings his wings out, the victim will become overwhelmed with arousal, a desire to be eaten. The arousal is debilitating, to the point where women in canon can't stand, let alone walk when he is near by.)

Somewhere, in the vast and unquantifiable reaches of space, a Police Box turned slowly in the void. The interior, expanded through the powers of pocket dimension science and convenient narrative, was loud with the noise of industry.

The Doctor was preparing.

"Aaaall right," He spoke aloud, to the population of the TARDIS, pulling levers and turning knobs and looking busy in the way only a man who had to look like he knew what he was doing to keep everyone sane could.
"That should do it and if you two are ready," he spun from the console of the TARDIS, arms wide. "We are ready for Ri-oooh..." The Doctor's jovial voice died to something a little more along the lines of 'bloody hell what is this' and he reached into the inside pocket of his smart overcoat, pulling from within The (and the capitols here were important) Sonic Screwdriver.

This was not the TARDIS. As far as he knew, the TARDIS had never adopted an interior featuring heavily on the stone and drapery motif. The library came close, but having to account for the pool made things a little less gothic and a little more... well, library with a pool in. But that wasn't the point here.

The point was... that he didn't know what the point was. yet.

He scanned the room briefly with The Screwdriver and checked the reading with barely a glance. Earth, 2010 (not a year he wanted to be stuck in at the moment, though it seemed to be well after The Day of Great Importance) Scotland, but... somewhere not on the 'map' that The Screwdriver set itself by.

No indeed, not any part of Scotland he knew at all.

He stood still a moment, then pocketed The Screwdriver. Well, here he was, and here the room was, and he had no clue what was going on, but that, of course, would be easily fixed by careful and methodical planning.

He shoved his hands in his pockets, took a deep breath, and shouted.

"Hell-ooooooo? Would anyone be so kind as to tell me where I am?"

He waited.

He tried again.

"This is really kind of an inconvenience," he gestured to the wall that had been the TARDIS a few minutes ago. "I have an appointment with an attractive couple in the tropics and I really should get on to it. Hello?"

Fuuka frowned. She had managed to get her hands on a laptop, but any effort she attempted to make with the outside world was blocked, and she couldn't hack her way around it.

It just took her back to the school's computer system.

It wasn't all bad, there were certain sites she could still access. She just can't find a way to email her friends. Or look up the events of January 31st.

Fuuka sighed as she shut down her computer. She was getting nowhere with this. Shrinking down the laptop to pocket size (that is one plus to magic), Fuuka asked the house elf for some lunch.

Well, it is lunch time, and she is hungry and already in the Great Hall.

What happens when a corpse becomes pregnant and gives birth? What would she give birth to? After seven years, another corpse, but since it has been born, it must live.

A cursed life, a cursed existence, a perfect monster.

Less than a year ago, that existence took a turn. In a fatal accident for all but two, dubbed by the news media as A-kun and B-kun because of their ages, Tachibana Shito's fate became entangled with a Ferryman named Bekkou and the headstrong Akatsuki Chika, B-kun. In a contract to preserve their lives, the both agreed to a life loan, a Zombie Loan, with a contract term of one year. To repay it, they had to catch illegal zombies, those who did not have such a contract, and send them on to the next world before the Reaper caught both them and their prey. To those able to see it, a black ring circled their necks, marking for the Reaper where his scythe could cut.

They had, however, done a favor for the Reaper and now had one less thing to watch for over their shoulders. But, there were still zombies to catch. Zombies that ran from them. Running made his socks slouch down. He hated that more than anything. He'd paused to pull up his socks, looking up to call after Akatsuki and Kita, but they weren't there. The city wasn't there. What was there shouldn't have been there.

He found himself in a room with stone walls. He'd been what passed as alive for a very long time and had never seen anything like this. He finished adjusting his socks and stood, looking around the room. To one side, a table with some papers on it, a feather hovering over them. There were doors, closed. Frowning, he walked over to them, trying them. They wouldn't rattle. As far as he could tell, they were merely pictures of doors on a wall. But to what purpose?

But, then, what purpose did people have for wanting to defy death? Did there have to be one?

He hated being locked in, but at least this time he wasn't handcuffed to a bed. He continued around the room, examining for anything. If he arrived, there must be a way to leave. Because of that contract, he couldn't be far away from that pest Akatsuki for long. He rubbed his right wrist, but it didn't feel wrong. The handcuff bracelet was there. He shoved it back up his arm, under his sleeve.

He continued to the stack of papers on the table. Maybe a clue would be there.

It was so sudden. Fuuka had been walking to the library to read, when someone pulled her in a classroom so quickly she didn't even have time to grab her Evoker.

Matt pulled her in the classroom, shutting the door and pinning her to the wall, not closely, but enough that she couldn't get away or get her Evoker. He put one hand on her mouth.

"Listen. I don't want to hurt you. I just want to ask a couple questions. I've heard that you can find and track people. Is this true?" She nodded, like he knew she would. "I need you to find someone for me. I'm sorry for asking in this manner, but I couldn't ask by owl. Would you?" Fuuka nodded. "Good. Thanks." He let her go and stepped back.

Fuuka spent a minute catching her breath and getting her pulse back to normal. "How did...how did you know I..."

Matt shrugged. "I'm a hacker too. And I've seen you with that thing you summon. I took a stab in the dark." He was lying, but how could he tell Fuuka that he saw her in a video game?

Fuuka stood up straight. "Who am I looking for?"

"His name's Karasu. He's a demon. He likes to terrorize people, and if there were anything resembling laws in this place, he'd be arrested for assault and rape. His name's not on the popcorn plaque, or I wouldn't worry. Black hair, pale, wears a mask over his mouth."

Fuuka listened, nodded, and pulled her Evoker. "Sorry," she said to Matt before pulling the trigger. She was surprised that he didn't even flinch. Maybe he had seen her summon Juno before?

Fuuka closed her eyes, using her Persona's powers to see the whole school. All over the school she looked. She could find demons, she could even find raven-haired demons, but there was none that had the name Karasu or a mask on his face.

"Is there any other name he might go by?"

"No."

"There is a Kuro..."

"Kuronue's on our side. He's not Karasu."

Fuuka opened her eyes. "There is no Karasu here, then, Jeevas-san."

Matt made a funny face. "Call me Matt." He had forgotten about that, that how she tracked everyone's health also gave her their names.

Fuuka dismissed Juno. "Matt, then. I'm Fuuka."

"Pleasure. Listen. If you happen to find him here again, be sure to owl me. And don't try to confront him yourself. I don't want to think of what he'll do to you."

"I understand."

"Thanks again," Matt said as he opened the door. Fuuka smiled before heading to her destination, while Matt headed to his room.

((OOC: I have the pleasure of having adopted Cyclona. So, same journal, different mun. ♥))

Cyclona had seen and done some weird shit in her time. Most of them due to drugs. But this? This took the cake.

When she woke it felt like she was in some sort of pseudo womb, where she could breathe and all she could taste was butter and something oddly savoury. Freaking a little, she clawed at the walls, then punched at them when they appeared soft and brittle.

She shrieked as she fell to the stone floor, naked as the day she was born, and covered in butter. After she'd finished coughing up whatever had been in her lungs, she wiped her mouth and pulled her hair out of her face. The fact that she was naked didn't quite register, not that she'd ever really been conscious of it before anyway, not around her pretty Spice Girl anyway.

She drew her legs up to her chest, wrapped her arms around them, and looked around. The stone walls brought back unpleasant memories, but that had been before hadn't it?

She hoped so.

Fuuka woke up with a gasp, heart racing. Did she just dream all that? Or did it really happen? Was he really...

And why hadn't she lost her memories like Ryoji said they would? Fuuka guessed the magic of Hogwarts protected her from that effect.

Fuuka pulled out her phone. It was useless here. Only once did Fuuka try to call someone but all she got was static. She kept it though, for sentimental reasons.

She used the world clock function, an application that checked times all over the world. It was afternoon here...but it would be just after midnight in Japan. So the Dark Hour had passed for the last time.

But at what costs?

Fuuka switched to her photo album. She scrolled through the pictures of her friends until she paused at the one of just her and Minato. She was smiling and he had an enigmatic look in his eyes, as usual.

Given how well it had worked last year, Amaranth decided that spreading holiday saliva was a tradition that should continue for as long as possible.

Thus it was that, with the assistance of house elves, she made sure mistletoe was hanging above every frequently (and not so frequently) used door in the school. The mistletoe would be charmed to remain levitated over the school for a few days, which was certainly long enough, in Amaranth's view, for gratuitous snogging to commence.

Satisfied with her work, the nymph bounced gaily down the halls, eager to assist anyone should they find themselves in need of a makeout partner.

A man stood in the sorting room. Two things were noticeable immediately upon looking at him for the first time.

Firstly, he had a fighter’s physic, visible through his tight clothes and what could only loosely be termed as a ‘shirt’. Second, he was blind. Whether he actually was blind or chose to wear the odd red contraption covering his eyes with a belt in order to make himself blind was open for interpretation.

He didn’t seem at all blind as he walked directly for the application.

Then his shadow seemed to separate from his body and arch above him to read the application. It seemed somewhat like a dragon, with crimson eyes and sharp teeth. It read the questions to the blind man.
