Quidditch Tryouts

The Exile was setting up the field for the tryouts. She had sent letters to the students listing specific times for their houses. No need to let their opponents see them in action, after all.

She charmed her Jedi robes to protect her from injury and waited.

Quidditch Signup

This is the signup list for Quidditch tryouts.
Tryouts will be held June 14th.
Please write your name, your house, desired position, and any prior experience.


The notice was posted both at the Quidditch field and at the Great Hall. It is charmed so a name signed on one would appear on the other.

Flying Class

Brooms laid out? Check.

Clear skies? Check.

Students? Sort of check, they were coming up.

The Exile waited until all were assembled, then began to speak.

"Each of you will take a school broom. One at a time, you will start flying around the stadium. I will be flying alongside you so you don't fall and so I can help you out. Once everyone has flown once, I will allow you to fly within the stadium to practice. Also, the Quidditch signup is over there," she pointed to a notice on the wall.

"Now. Who's first?"

Come one come all to Quidditch!

The time has come for the Gryffindor vs Slytherin Quidditch Match. Mr Butlertron is waiting on the pitch, perched on his new robot legs and carrying a broom in one hand and the box of Quidditch balls in the other.

He waits as the students file into the spectator stands and announces the teams as they enter the playing pitch.

((ooc: the rules we're playing by are here. Email notification is turned off, so feel free to rp playing, watching and commentating as much as you like. Have fun, go mad.

I'll start a special thread where players can comment with their die roll results, please keep this ooc and just die rolls (so we know who's winning). You can describe your moves in different threads in as great detail as you wish.

A very panicked Ryuuji, having just read Mr. Butlertron's announcement, stuck up the following notice in the Slytherin common room, enchanted to glow brightly.

HELP! SLYTHERIN QUIDDITCH PLAYERS NEEDED!


Our last roster is as follows, all popcorned people struck-through:

Seeker: Tom/Nagini.
Chasers: Steerpike, Cthulhu, Yuffie.
Beaters: Lucius Malfoy, Severus Snape.
Keeper: Esmeralda Weatherwax/Stewie.
Captain: Lucius Malfoy.

Does anyone else see the problem here?!

SIGN UP to play on the House team for the sake of fun, sports, glory and not having your Prefect hunt you down in the hallways and try to get you to sign up. Please.

Positions needed: KEEPER. Also, the Slytherin team has jetboots donated by Trevor so even if you're a nervous flier, don't worry about it. You won't fall.

Ancalagon-sama, you mentioned being interested in playing on the team before. Does that still apply?

QUIDDITCH!

This Saturday there will be a Gryffindor versus Slytherin Quidditch Match. Quidditch captains, please ensure that you have an entire team and that none of your players are popcorn, as popcorn cannot ride a broom effectively.

Remember a Quidditch team is made up of:
one keeper
three chasers
two beaters
one seeker

If you have any problems or questions regarding Quidditch, please let me know by writing on this poster.

It seems we're up for a Quidditch match next week. We have a full team but if anyone else wants to sign up for reserves, change positions, etcetera before the next game, be sure to say so. Now, we're a player short, with a position for Beater open.

Note on the various common room notice boards:

Quidditch

Quidditch season will begin next week with a Ravenclaw vs Gryffindor match.

Please finalise your team listings and get them to Mr Butlertron before then, please also nominate a Team Captain, usually this is assigned by the Headmistress, but I thought it might be best if the students decided amongst themselves.

The school brooms have all been tested and anyone who needs to borrow one for the season should report to Mr Butlertron and I will assign you one.

((ooc - just reply here for RP with Mr B or whatever. I'm not sure how to run actual Quidditch games but it will almost certainly involve dice rolling on Gaia. Any suggestions welcomed.))

Hey everyone!

Remember how we had to form a Quidditch Team last month? That roster might not still be applicable, seeing as certain members seem to have disappeared for various reasons.

Currently, as it stands, our team (reserves included) comprises of:

Seeker: Tom/Nagini.
Chasers: Steerpike, Cthulhu, Trevor.
Beaters: Lucius Malfoy, Severus Snape.
Keeper: Esmeralda Weatherwax/Stewie.

If anyone else is interested in playing, please comment. I think we'll need a Chaser to replace Trevor, who has been MIA for about a month or so by my reckoning.

I also have jetboots, courtesy of Trevor, for all players. Wear them, and if you fall off your broom, you can hover in the air instead of hitting the ground for a potential fatal collision - I'll give them to whomever you elect as Quidditch Captain.

Which brings me to the next issue - of everyone that's signed up to play, who would like to be the Captain? And if you are signing up right now and are interested in being the Quidditch Captain, please state that as well.
