Application for Cyclona, Freeway II: Confessions of a Trickbaby

(Note: This application contains vague spoilers. Also lots of cursing.)

The lean teenage girl in sweatpants and a (blood?) stained white tank-top looked distinctly ill at ease in the sorting room. She ducked her head and hunched her shoulders, long hair hiding most of her face, but not her angry eyes.

"Hey, where is this?"

When the quill lifted at the sound of her voice, she jerked back in shock, pulling a knife from her waistband with a low growl. Spotting the application, she looked it over suspiciously.

Is this my new life? )

Hi all,

This mono is utterly whooping my ass, physically and mentally, so I'm taking a few days off to sleep and all that--hopefully I'll be better enough to come back in a week or so. To everyone I've left hanging in threads, I'm sorry, but I promise I'll get back to you.

Daniel is working on his class syllabus
Harry D is plotting ways to get rid of the YED
Delirium is chasing butterflies
Silas is being the human guard-dog he always is
Henry is with Camilla, trying to adjust to his recently-regained memory
Devi is working on the scenery for the play
Catelyn is being of teh grateful for Ned and Robb
Merlin is in the library, being totally confused by all the Arthurian legends
Susan and Shaun are experimenting with incendiary pudding
Molly M is practicing her part in the play
Slartibartfast is collecting more lint for a second solar system

I'll be back, y'all.

Owl to Nny: warded to turn into a handful of thorns for anybody else.

It was a quiet Sunday afternoon. Too quiet, really. Karaoke time! La Fee Verte propped open the doors of the Little Green Apple, cranked up the karaoke machine, and began to sing, trusting that it would draw others in.

Gogo let herself into Devi's room, looking about. Kuro-pip, Fifi and Rama followed her, scampering at her feet, and Toadie-chan was held in her arms - the kitten might not have the tracking skills that Gogo presumed the devils did, but he was too cute not to include in the adventure.

So... hm. Devi had said she wanted something pretty, and purple, that would go with her hair and her ring. Shrugging, she opened the other girl's wardrobe and started digging through her clothes.

Hey all,

I'm going to be away for around a week--maybe more, maybe less. My son gave me what I thought was bronchitis, but which turned out to be bronchopneumonia, so I'm going to be out of commission for a while. Anybody I'm in threads with, I'll get back to you then (though you might have to poke me to remind me). Daniel, Molly, Harry D, Susan, Devi, Slartibartfast, UnCat, and Shaun will all be wandering in the background for a bit, probably up to no good. Especially Shaun, as walking around with a cricket bat is just asking for trouble.

(The one possibly good thing about this is that I can't smoke, so it just might help me quit. XD)

((Okay'd by the I Feel Sick muns and the mods!))

Popcorn!

...What?

Tenna patted herself over for a few long seconds, spastically, her eyes flickering around the room as her hands settling upon her head and grabbed at her spiky black hair. Er. She was in a giant room. Filled with popcorn kernels. Which actually wasn't such a strange revelation, for Tenna, really - it was actually extremely... awesome - but that... huh. It was definitely a first. Watching her name disappear off of a plaque in the room, though, that might've made it onto the odd list.

Reeking of butter, still holding onto her head, and furrowing both eyebrows in a comical manner, Tenna took a few steps around, puzzled, glancing around the room at all the other kernels. She started a bit towards the door, and stopped again, doing a double-take, as if to check that, yep, it was a still popcorn.

And then, of course, exploded out into the hallway with a Xena-like yell, finally releasing her head to land in a ninja pose and glance to her surroundings. Hmm. Stone. And torches. A painting. Some suit of armor.

Dear God, she was a knight. It was the only explanation.

Having still not quite recovered from what was quite possibly the most bizarre proposal ever, Devi had agreed to meet Nny and go flying. She was oscillating between "SQUEE" and "OMGOMG IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING OMG", and could hardly fumble her boots and coat on. In either state she was grinning like an idiot, digging up scarf and gloves and hat and hurrying/stumbling down the hallway.

It was freezing outside, snowy and icy, and her breath rose in frosty clouds as she made for the Quidditch pitch. She had to see Nny in person, to make it sink in that yes, this was indeed happening (and yes, they really had made fools out of themselves where the whole school could hear them).

The encounter with the Polymorph had left Nny feeling strangely placid. A nice feeling, and one he was interested in exploring. A quick search of the Ravenclaw common room turned up a stray joint, forgotten by one of his housemates... that was another way to relax, yes? Lighting it up, he wandered the halls randomly.

Some time ago, a poster appeared on various noteboards. Finally, there is a follow-up:

Below it, as before, is a box of socks, though in deference to the season they are festive. Kind of.

Devi was bored. Not just bored but Bored, capital B. Sickness had been mercifully silent for most of the day, for a change, and without that constant internal bickering she was at something of a loss.

She'd remembered (finally) that her art supplies were in Nny's staff quarters, but of course she couldn't remember where they were, so she was hunting him down in the STFU suite. Even in the castle she was carrying her ubiquitous bookbag, though it contained fewer random weapons than usual--part of that unused space was taken up by the book of notes she'd taken during her conversation with Gogo, which she had spent a little time studying (and occasionally trying to decipher).

Against all common sense she simply stuck her head in the door, not pausing to wonder if there might be any inventive booby-traps hanging about. "Hello?"

We're moving the computers tonight, and I probably won't have net access again until Monday, when we figure out the router situation again. Everybody I'm in threads with, never fear, I shall return. :)

((Okay, the party will be divided into two parts, one taking place before midnight, and one after the Halloween spell is starting to work. This is the first part, obviously. The other will be posted immediately afterwards but takes place roughly five hours later or so, in game time. Remember, this post is for partying only, and no people-turning-into-their-costumes crack!))

ASK NOT FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS, IT TOLLS FOR THEE

Jack watched the words that were magically carved above the door to the Great Hall, in plain view of everyone entering it, and he smiled secretively. Everything was set. Tonight was going to be interesting. Who would have known magic could prove to be so useful? He made a mental note to investigate this even more for next year. Now that Sally was here, he'd be able to discuss it with her at great length. She always had such lovely ideas.

Since Jack was not exactly a beginner in the scaring people business he had carefully checked out the atmosphere of Hogwarts and gotten a distinct impression of what was considered frightening here. Outside the Great Hall the lights were out and shadows lurked in the corners. At irregular intervals (but always when one was least expecting it) the mad cackle of a deranged evil clown echoed through the Entrance Hall. Small cats black as midnight stroke around the walls, not speaking to anyone but constantly smiling evilly at anyone passing them, showing gleaming, pointed teeth. Also, because Jack never had it in him to resist the absolute classics, bats were hanging upside-down near the ceiling.

Inside the Great Hall, it was less dark and spooky, but still obviously Halloween. Cool white mist was trickling along the floor. Jack-o’-lanterns hovered in the air around an area cleared for dancing. Along one wall stood a large table with various Halloween treats: pumpkin pie, candy corn, toffee apples, hot cider, mini-cakes and a large bowl of punch.

The Halloween party could begin.
