RP: Zelgadiss/Yuuri Body Switch

It had been a long day the day before, with Wolfram acquiring yet another pet (a rather hideous kitten by the name of Furry Yuuri) and having yet another argument with Yuuri. This time it was whose name was manlier. Wolfram felt that he won that one, but he always thinks he wins his fights.

The demon was celebrating his victory with a much needed rest, which he spent in what was technically Yuuri's bedroom, but one which Wolfram inhabited with resolution. His own bedroom was taken over by a dragon, a kitten, and a tribble, anyway. Yuuri and Wolfram's competitions usually stretched into their sleep, as shown through the determined way Wolfram would steal the blankets throughout the night.

And if the chill did not wake up Yuuri early, Wolfram's cold feet certainly would. At least the Maou wasn't being, literally, kicked out of bed this time.

*Zel opens his eyes sleepily, shivering in the chill. Where did my sheets go? Wait a second. When was the last time I actually felt cold? Zel looks down at himself. I'm human again! There's something very familiar about those hands, but I'm human!

Zel attempts to roll out of bed, but is interrupted by another body in the way. Why is there someone else in my bed? I can't have been drinking last night, I'd remember the start of it, and I should remember someone else ending up in my bed otherwise. Zel, slightly addled by sleep and excitement, brainstorms himself into looking at the face of the person in his way. He shouts out loud in his shock.*

What the HELL is Wolfram doing in my bed?

That cry wasn't quite as unusual as one might think. The Maou never quite got used to his fiance's possessiveness. The demon automatically growled, "Until just recently, sleeping," and aimed a nice kick at his king for good measure, in order to launch him off of the bed and away from interfering with Wolfram's sleeping-in.

The Mazoku curled deeper into his blankets and fell back asleep like nothing happened. The snores were proof of it.

*Ouch. Zel had forgotten how much being kicked hurt. He shook Wolfram by the shoulder in an attempt to wake the Mazoku up.*

Get out of my bed, Mazoku. And, while you're at it, explain how you got in here in the first place. I was under the impression that there was a password protecting the door into the Tower.

The blond angrily shoved the hand away, but the blankets that were currently cocooning him were cutting down on his dexterity. "Don't speak to me that way, wimp." The words were fierce, but the yawn and sleepy expression took away from the passion.

"I am going to marry you one day, so your room is my room. And Hufflepuffs do not sleep in a tower! Now go back to sleep or study architecture... just let me rest!"

He stuck out a tongue as pink as his nightgown, and tried to go back to sleep.

Who are you calling a wimp?

Wait a second, marry me? Is this some kind of joke? I could have sworn you were Yuuri's fiance, never mind that you seem to hate me. And I am not a Hufflepuff. Of course, I guess you could be forgiven for not knowing what house I'm in, since you stormed out of my Sorting without even voting.

And has anyone ever told you just how ridiculous you look in that nightgown?

"You, Yuuri. Who else do I call a wimp?" Wolfram moaned as he turned away so that all Zel could see was a head of blond hair and a mess of velvety blankets. Wolfram ordered only the best for his king.

"Wimp, of course I don't hate you. Can't you understand that I will marry you and thus I love you? Now shut up! You are too a Hufflepuff, and it is the best House so be grateful."

The last comment is enough to get Wolfram's attention, as he rises up and flails through the blankets, failing but trying to grab Yuuri so that he could probably do something terrible to him. "My nightgowns are wonderful! Your mother bought me this one, and I wear it to make you happy! And because it feels nice against my skin."

Ah, see, I think that's our difficulty. In case you have failed to notice - although I'm not sure how, even as a human I don't look anything like Yuuri - I'm not your fiance. I am Zelgadiss Greywords.

And you've never met my mother.

How on earth does Yuuri stand you? And haven't you got your own room?

Wolfram blinked at Yuuri, completely confused. He kneeled facing his fiance, allowing the blankets to fall around his waist, baring his shoulders. "Is this some strange human game, Yuuri? You would tell me if it is?"

*Zel looks at Wolfram seriously.* I realize that the lack of blue, rocky skin, purple hair, and long, pointy ears might throw you off, but I can assure you, I'm Zelgadiss. Have you gone blind or something? I could have sworn my hair used to be a different color than Yuuri's when I was human.

The said, Wolfram immediately launched himself at the man possessing Yuuri's body. Despite the silly pink nightie he was currently wearing, Wolfram moved in considerable speed. He had spent decades training as a soldier, after all.

He attempted to pin his fiance, something he has had plenty of practice on. "Get out of Yuuri's body! What did you do to him!?"

*Zel attempts to roll out of the way, but seems to have left his reflexes in his other muscles.* If I knew what I was doing in Yuuri's body, do you think I would actually have been surprised that you thought I was Yuuri? I went to sleep in my own body, in Gryffindor Tower, and woke up here! Besides, why would I want to wake up next to you? I may want to be or at least look vaguely human again, but I'm not quite that desperate! Not yet, anyway.

As much as I dislike the idea, we're going to have to work together to get me back into my own body. And our first order of business to figure out where Yuuri went. Or rather, the bit of Yuuri that seems to have been replaced by me. And that requires you getting off of me! *Zel attempts to push Wolfram off him, but gives up.*

So, if I'm here, and I'm in Yuuri's body, perhaps that means Yuuri's in my body in Gryffindor Tower.

Wolfram continued to loom over Zel, keeping his wrists locked and using his own knees to prevent Zel from moving up. So far his arguments were unconvincing.

"Why!? So that you can rule Shin Makoku? Or be half-demon instead of a third? Or-" Wolfram narrowed his eyes and shouted, "I will never marry you! Ever!"

He moved closer and hissed, "If you hurt Yuuri, I'll kill you. You just want me to let you go, and then you'll escape. You're possessing him, I know, I've been possessed before!"

You mean half-human instead of third - I want to be human, remember? And like I said, I'm not that desperate. And how would I rule Yuuri's kingdom from here, even if I wanted to?

And I have to say that we seem to be in perfect agreement on the marriage thing. One, my interests don't exactly point that direction, and two, even if I did, I certainly wouldn't be interested in you!!

Escape, yes! Escape from this body! Get this through your thick skull, Mazoku: I. Do not. Want. This. BODY! I would rather kiss Dilgear than be engaged to you!

And I've seen what happens when something possesses someone, and the thing possessing them doesn't advertise it! I am making no secret that I am in Yuuri's body, I don't want to be here, and I very much doubt that Yuuri's having a better time wherever he is!

*Zel takes a deep breath, trying to calm down.* Alright. You want me out of this body, right? And I want me out of this body, right? I suggest we try to find Yuuri. The sooner we find him, the sooner I get out of your fiance's body and he gets back into it.

*Zel sighs heavily.* Is there any specific ritual Mazoku go through to challenge someone to a duel? Because I think that I might be interested in it as soon as I've got my own body back.

"Actually, there is! First you take a knife-" Suddenly the Prefects' Announcement flooded the hall. Wolfram blinked a couple times, then reddened angrily, and pointed to Zelgadiss in warning.

*Zel pales considerably at the announcement.* What was that you were saying about the Gryffindor prefects being idiots? Because I find I rather agree.

I concur entirely with that statement. There is no way in hell I am going through with that.

I vote that once we find Yuuri, we hightail it down to the Library and hope like hell we can find another way to cure this.

I'm a spellcaster. Of course I can read. How do you think I expected to use a Clair Bible manuscript to learn how to cure my chimerism? I should really see if there's one in the Library one of these days... Why? Can't you read?

*Zel decides that perhaps he can avoid a series of increasingly petty insults by changing the subject.* So, you're sure neither you nor Yuuri have ever known someone called Ruby Eye Shabranigdu or Dark Star Dugradigdu? Because those are the names of the two highest-ranking Mazoku I'm aware of in the two worlds I've visited, excepting L-Sama herself.

I have never heard of them, and therefore Yuuri definitely has never heard of him. I am much more knowledgeable than he is.

Yeah, about that... how did you and Yuuri end up engaged? You two don't seem like... it's a little... it seems like there'd be some conflict between your personalities.

I'm still kind of surprised that your people aren't in contact with the Mazoku in my own world, or in others. Admittedly, since the ones that don't seem to be actively malevolent are still insane, from what I hear, I'm not sure you'd want to be...

*Wolfram's face tightened. It seems to be a touchy subject* How do you think people get engaged? Yuuri proposed to me. And there is no personality conflict! Yuuri is just wrong sometimes and I have to correct him.

What? Well, you have never contacted the humans from our world, I believe. You think Mazoku is different in some way? With a hive mind?

You know what? Never mind. Let's just get back to finding a way to get Yuuri and I back into our own bodies that doesn't involve kissing each other. Because, quite honestly, I would rather not have to kiss someone of my own gender, especially if they're me at the time.

*Wolfram shook his head in confusion* Why are people so strange about two boys kissing around here? It's quite common where I come from. Well, not that common. I don't want you to think that Shin Makoku is full of hedonistic lechers that just kiss everyone all the time.

But you should not want to kiss Yuuri because if you do so I will pull out your spleen and make you eat it, not because he's a boy.

So, the question becomes: how do we get Yuuri and me back into our own bodies without kissing and you consequently killing me? Although that might be more difficult than you think, once I'm back in my own body. Got any ideas?
