OOC: Is your character a shipper?

Explanation: This comes out of some discussions with Ryuuji-mun and Terry-mun (and an IC discussion between Ryuuji and Terry which greatly amused me).

We've talked about the hogwarts_hocus ships we muns like. But what about our characters? Are they shippers? Oddly enough, some of mine are!

Stephen is a Ryuuji/Nightwing shipper. He's convinced that Ryuuji and Nightwing will one day wed for real, even though Ryuuji insists that it was all a plot by the French slash cultists.
He is also a Nny/Teatime shipper in that the very notion of Susan/Teatime would make him flip out.
And he is claiming to be a Gin/Byakuya shipper, even though he isn't one ;)

Paul Atreides is a Ryuuji/Terry shipper and is holding himself back from quoting many aphorisms on True Love only because it seems to make Terry go o_O. He's also a River/Stephen shipper.

Cooper, I'm beginning to think, is a Lupin/Jack Sparrow shipper! That pirate rum... And it's an h_h canonical fact that Cooper is a Real!Ron/Puppet!Ron shipper.

Do any of your characters have favorite ships? Or ships that they oppose?

No, I don't do anything special for Easter. Why do you ask? ;)

Ryuuji used to ship Chii/Seto but that was cruelly dashed by Hideki showing up. XD Now, he's got a soft spot for Joachim/Alucard (shhh, don't ask) River/Stephen, obviously, Nny/Teatime just 'cause, Crowley/Azi (hey, just because Crowley's a jerk doesn't mean that Azi deserves to be unhappy) and until they got popcorned, Voldemort/Severus.

He also likes Tonks/Lupin because they're both nice, and Mystique/Babs because he thinks that they'd raise hell together. And Psyche/Hermes because he doesn't like Eros and thinks that Psyche deserves better. And he'd probably ship Loki/Hermes if Loki hadn't been popcorned.

The idea of Teatime/Gin is kinda frightening.

Gin is, of course, in favor of Gin/anybody pretty and-or large in the chest region. (Stephen can have Rukia (http://community.livejournal.com/hogwarts_hocus/421583.html?thread=20443343#t20443343), she's too flat. *snicker*)

I don't think he's really aware of any other couples other than Stephen/River yet though, and he doesn't really care about them as a couple one way or another.

Heh, well I can tell you this: Jack is definately not a Lupin/Jack shipper. I do think, however, that he is a Jack/any-Slytherin-girl-5th-year-or-older shipper...
What can I say, he's a manwhore...
Oh, and I considered making my Mal a Mal/Kaylee shipper, but that's only because I have a huge crush on Kaylee from the show, and this Kaylee does such a gorram good job at it...

Lupin is a firm supporter of Stephen/River. He feels fatherly and protective towards River and thinks Stephen will be a good man for her. Stephen intrigues him - I think Lupin feels like they're kindred spirits in a way. Maybe there's some attraction there, especially after the business on April Fool's Day. I dunno.

Of course, Lupin also supports Crowley/Aziraphale. He wants Crowley to stop beating around the (burning) bush and just get on with it. How could a demon be so repressed? ;) Also, Lupin wants Eros and Psyche to get back together. I think he's the only person at h_h who actually likes Eros...

((No, Nemo adores Eros. Eros was nice to him at his Sorting. But Nemo's not really aware of Psyche. He doesn't pick up on romance much, being little. But he's just met Stephen and seen the way he looks at River, which reminds him of the way he thinks a daddy ought to look at a mommy, which reassured him. So you could sort of call him a Stephen/River shipper.))

Emma Woodhouse is a huge shipper. Oh my God, if she actually had the internet, it would be terrifying.

Let's see... I think she shipped Harry/Hermione on the application before she met Ginny, because they're obviously MEANT TO BE. And McGonagall and Dumbledore. She likes Lupin/Tonks because she likes Lupin and wants him to be happy, though I'm not quite sure what she would think if she met Tonks. She likes Maturin/River, because it seems Maturin would make a good husband. She's very proud of River for scatching him, and of course credits herself.

Let's see... she was Tom/Ginny for a while, but then went over to Harry/Ginny. She's been trying to set Freya up with every good man she can, and will probably try Gin/Freya next. And she probably thinks Hawkeye just needs the affection of a decent woman, but is unsure which lady would be strong enough to face the attempt.

xD I'm going to have to say that Sky is a nobody/anybody shipper. He thinks that relationships get in the way of things!

Richie is probably an anyone-in-good-mental-health/Methos shipper. The idea of Methos losing his temper freaks him out.

Babs is disturbingly in favor of Ryuuji/Nightwing.

Tim is shipping Ryuuji/Terry hard.

And Gert's shipping Karolina/Joan. x3

Joan is a shipper, definitely. But not for any specific couples. If she sees two people that get along and seem to like each other, she'll try to nudge them in the right direction.

Um, Bertie is too clueless to ship anyone. He's still completely unaware that two men or two women can be together.

Rowena doesn't know anyone really yet and if she did, she'd stay out of their business.

Adam doesn't ship anyone. He's pleased when people get together, but wouldn't presume to say who should be with whom. Part of that whole non-interference deal he's got going. He accepts every pairing.

And then there's Crowley. XD I'd say he ships Ryuuji/Seto, doesn't see the need to ship Lupin/Tonks or Stephen/River 'cause they're already together, and somewhere deep in his darkest heart of hearts ships Kira/Methos. *g* He doesn't seem to interact much with other people and if he does, he doesn't care who they are or aren't seeing. Also, can I point out that he'd be terribly embarrassed if he knew how many people shipped him/Aziraphale.

Byakuya isn't sorted yet, buuuut he'd be vehemently against himself/anyone! XD In canon, he's also oh so tragically a widower.

If word ever reaches him that some might have the mistaken idea of he and Gin being each other's Wun Trwoo Man-Wuv, they'd either get to see his hilarious WTF face (http://img465.imageshack.us/img465/1296/002szhy17sr.jpg), or, more disturbingly, he would give the thought some actual consideration before dismissing it... (Since he's not allowed to kill anyone here. That would probably be his first reaction, otherwise.)

...Goes without saying, he wouldn't like Rukia/anyone either, and I pity the poor person who ever even thinks about courting Ruki while he's around. They would find out that Byakuya's bite is a hell of a lot worse than his bark. *snicker*

Mystique ships Nightwing/Ryuuji because Nightwing is an adorable puppy and Ryuuji's a devious little kitten. To her way of thinking, anyway.

She also ships Cooper/any werewolf, just for the humor value, and secretly wouldn't mind shipping Tonks/herself even if only for the humor value. XD

Eros ships Ryuuji/Seto and Cooper/Butlertron because he has a soft spot for unrequited love. Pretty much any one-sided couple, really.

And though he'd never admit it, he also ships himself/Psyche. But insists he's not in love with her. Really.

Susan is cautiously optimistic about Stephen/River; she cares a lot about Stephen, and while she wonders about some elements of his relationship with River, is reserving final judgement until she and River have a chance to talk. Fillerbunny, on the other hand, is very, VERY enthusiastically pro-Stephen/River.

Other than that ... not much of an opinion. Susan doesn't really know what to think of Teatime/Nny -- some days she thinks it's great, and others she thinks it's positively the worst thing the multiverse could have ever created. :)

River reciprocates Tonks' solidarity, in the "I don't know you very well but since we're in a similar situation I support you because of that." She's also hoping that Ryuuji and Nightwing will be happy together. And, of course, Simon/Kaylee and Zoe/Wash from her own world (Mal has pissed her off enough with his interference in her love-life that she isn't thinking about Mal/Inara except to think that she might have to give him a dose of his own medicine somehow!), and Harry/Ginny--- she'd be more than happy to continue giving Ginny advice on *cough* leaving your mark on a loved one, etc.

She used to ship Teatime/Susan and Nny/Devi--- one, when she first met Nny, he was all angsty over Devi and she wanted to see that work out happily, two, she really likes Devi even though she doesn't know her that well, and three, she thinks it would have made life simpler between her and Stephen! However, given the falling-out between her and Nny, she's now adopted a position of Swiss neutrality on the subject.

Charles has remained oblivious to most of the shipping, and his one close encounter of the shippy kind was River/Stephen, which, um, didn't work too well, at least from his POV. ;) And he agrees completely with Hawkeye--- likes the man more than he'd admit (unless he's drunk, probably ;) ) but it's totally platonic.

Jekyll/Hyde has/have met very few people. Thus, the only love he/they have seen is Stephen/River.

Montparnasse ships everyone/everyone else. To him, there's no such thing as an OTP, since love is obviously just one-night stands.

Javert does his level best not to concern himself with other pairings. If the relationship is serious, he wishes them luck and then forgets about it.

Terry's a Tim/Jason shipper, simply because he figures every Batperson falls for 'the wrong one' and has to get it out of their system. But Tim's the only one who's gone and found someone potentially redeemable, who'd stay with him.

Terry also thinks Ron is crushing on Harry and is somewhat amused by the insistence 'It's all cause he's kissing my sister, really.'

He doesn't know anyone else to ship anyone else, though he thinks Seto Kaiba / Any Psychiatrist could quite possibly be 'the love'.

And oh yeah, he thinks Alucard/Joachim are already a couple.

Sugar hopes, in a woolly-headed way, that everyone will find somebody nice who'll be nice to them and not break their heart. Hasn't interacted enough to do anything more.

Jeeves, as his bet suggested, wants to see House and Wilson get together, and has several half-formulated plans to make sure Crowley and Aziraphale hook up. In, if possible, a public place, so he can collect his winnings and teach Crowley a lesson about not being rude. Otherwise, he looks with a beneficent eye on all love affairs, and is quite willing to step in and help if asked. All love affairs except for those Bertie's forced into, of course.

Calvin thinks kissing's gross. Hobbes reserves judgement.

Logan thinks Teatime/Nny's an unstable situation, aside from being hugely squickish. He would, however, be horrified if he thought Susan/Teatime was anything but sparring and mutual manipulation, and probably demand of Susan what the hell she thought she was doing. River/Stephen...Logan's not crazy in general about Stephen, and the idea of a girl his age with someone old enough to be her father pushes all the wrong buttons...especially since he has a bit of a crush on River. He's trying to respect her choice, though, and would never make a move to break up a faithful couple. Otherwise, he'd tell himself and everyone else that he ships himself/anyone young, female, attractive, smart, and funny. If they were also blond, that'd be a bonus. And had a bit of a temper, and could stand up for themselves. And maybe knowledge of survelliance equipment and information gathering? And...

Psyche mainly hopes nobody will hunt Eros down for revenge, at this point. She does have a soft spot for unrequited or otherwise difficult relationships.

If Stephen had an inkling that Logan had a crush of any kind on River -- who is now legally his wife, though they're keeping that under wraps -- it would not be a pretty sight! Maybe it's good they've had something of a falling-out, so he won't see anything to suspect beyond his usual default assumption that everyone and their brother is after River.

Poor Logan. If I wanted to torture him I'd suggest he walk onto the balcony at Fillerbunny Day at the moment. *snerk*

Dick is adamantly a Jason/Tim anti-shipper. The very concept makes him want to snarl and forcibly enroll Tim in a Tibetan monastery. Partially because of this, and partially because he thinks it's cute, he would much prefer Tim/Kon. Look at how cute they are! Look at how protective Kon is of his little bro! Look at how Kon is not Jason! It is perfect. He will arrange the wedding. Tim will thank him for it later.

Should Dinah ever show, Dick will be waving flags and banners in hopes that she and Babs get together. Because, well, one's sort-of-but-now-you're-confused-because-she's-not-the-one-you-broke-up-with ex in a relationship with another hot woman? HE IS NOT MADE OF STONE, OKAY. Dick is extremely, extremely relieved that neither this Bruce nor this Babs seem to be interested in Bruce/Babs.

Ryuuji/anyone makes him feel irritable and punchy. Doubly so if it is Ryuuji/Terry.

On the other hand, he thinks Remus/Tonks seems like a solid and well-matched pair, and he likes Ginny/Harry, because, well, Ginny is an adorable little redhead who he would think was hot if she was perhaps four years older, and cute redheads are a good match with broody dark-haired heroes. Maybe he will give Harry some tips on how to avoid having Ginny lose interest in him and take up with his father-figure.

Lana Lang's too self-involved to be a shipper.

Sara Sidle been too busy in the lab and library to notice who's together, but if she were paying attention, and if I manage to get her out a bit more, I think she might be interested in a fun, teasing way, but not seriously. She's mostly glad there's little fighting in the Ravenclaw commonroom.

Ginny ships River/Stephen, Tonks/Remus, and Emma/Rita, though she's open minded on the last one. She also ships Ron/Anyone-who-will-distract-him-from-what-she-and-Harry-are-doing (but still really wants to fix him up with Faith, first and foremost). And if it's okay for characters to ship themselves, she also adamantly ships Ginny/Harry.

The Sorting Hat is, with the exception of engaged and married couples, mostly an anti-shipper. In the interest of eventual House Unification, it believes strongly in promoting a variety of interesting relationships.
