Madam Rosmerta has cleared away most of the usual tables and booths. There are still a few small tables scattered around the large room, and a cheery fire is crackling in the fireplace. Along one wall are long tables loaded with tea sandwiches, scones, petit fours, candies, biscuits and other rich treats. On the opposite wall there is tea with all the accoutrements, a fountain type punchbowl, and coffee for those who prefer it to tea. Butterbeer is also available on request.
The tables hold bouquets of early spring flowers -- snowdrops, narcissus, and crocus in pink, yellow and white. There are soft yellow, pink, and white ribbons on the candle sconces, as well.
In a back room, the models from Gladrags are bustling around, changing into the various cloaks and robes they will be showing the attendees. They can't be seen, but it is possible to hear their indistinct chatter.
After checking the arrangements with Madam Rosemerta, Ginny stands near the door, nervously waiting for Emma to show up, and worried about whether the party will come off well, and very excited about her friends meeting each other. She's dressed in an aqua green Muggle dress with small yellow flowers, and wearing the new silver snitch necklace Harry gave her.
((While screened for female characters under the age of 30, the Three Broomsticks is a public facility, so it is possible for other characters to crash the party. It'll be a lot easier if they're disguised as a female under thirty, though. *wink*))

"I am certain our companions for the day will arrive shortly." She then casts a casual look at the doorway, but her mouth is set in a manner that takes away from her nonchalant glance.

Date: 2006-03-11 11:57 pm (UTC)I've just checked with Madam Rosmerta and had a look at the food and everything seems to be all right.
*watches Emma place her notes on a table with much curiousity, but stops short of trying to read them, for now* Oh, I do hope you're right. Perhaps I should have put reminders up during the week. I started to, then I thought that it might look a little, well,
desperateannoying.Would you like some tea? Madam Rosmerta's Elves brew a very nice cup.

Date: 2006-03-12 12:37 am (UTC)So, too, was procuring a smart outfit - a short vest and long skirt, done up in muted grey and blue plaid, with a white blouse with a faint floral print on, and a high, turned down collar. It certainly wasn't hers, though it was respectably fashionable. With the reasoning that there probably wasn't another in the school from her precise time period (and fashion season), she felt no qualms about taking it from the high, boarded-up tower.
Anne had been deathly afraid that the boy, Ryuuji, would never come to visit her, and she'd be forced to waste away forever waiting for that horrible moment in which he finally professed his tragic love for her. Or - more realistically - where he apologized and had a perfectly decent excuse for it all.
The fear, however, had passed with time, only to be replaced by a tedium that daydreams couldn't relieve. House elves made for horrid conversationalists (though one could pry just about anything from them with some creative wheedling. Which is exactly how Anne knew of the J.A.I.L.B.A.I.T. Teaparty), and even the spacious Hogwarts rooftops were lacking in companionship.
So with the discovery of a meeting for the young women of the school, Anne knew her opportunity to perhaps reinstate herself in the society below with a minimal amount of wave-making was at hand.
And it was as simple as quietly unlocking her door, and walking quickly and purpousfully down the stair, through the crowded commons, into the hall beyond, down a good many staircases, and out the main doors... all without a single person looking at her twice.
Confidence is key.
Now, Anne stands uneasily before the welcoming doors, wondering what Emma (or any of the others) will think of her sudden appearance. Which is so very silly, she realizes, because one's apprehensions are often so very misplaced.
So she simply walks in - tall, truly graceful, and smiling nervously. "Er... hullo."

"What'll it be, love?" she asked as she approached.
"Oh, I don't know. What would you recommend today?" Rita asked, tilting her head ever-so slightly and smiling seductively.
Rosmerta took the hint and returned the smile. "Well, I've been experimenting with Muggle drinks a bit, and there's one in particular that I think you'd like. It's called a Screaming Orgasm."
"I'll have one then," Rita laughed.
"Just one?" Rosmerta replied suggestively.
"One to start with," Rita replied, pointedly licking her lips.
"Coming right up," Rosmerta winked at her and walked off.
Rita sighed happily. She knew that the stress of the last few weeks was getting to her when she had actually propositioned that Anita woman. Copious amounts of alcohol and a nice, safe encounter with a beautiful woman were exactly what she needed. She glanced over at the J.A.I.L.B.A.I.T. gathering and wondered if she ought to be doing this while they were there. The thought was quickly squashed.
"Heh, let them watch. They might learn something," Rita muttered to herself.
"What's that, hon?" Rosmerta asked as she returned with Rita's drink.
"Nothing, Rosmerta," she replied, gratefully accepting her drink.

She walked up to Madame Rosemerta and motioned for a drink. She was handed a Butterbeer but didn't bother to argue for anything stronger. She could always get more later. She had managed to get her hands on a few coppers. She looked around at all the other womena dn snorted softly, throughly annoyed at her actually showing up, but more annoyed at Ginny for talking her into it.

Date: 2006-03-13 05:10 am (UTC)Chii entered the room, embarassed at how late that they had been. Perhaps trying to negotiate on a nice outfit that fit both her and Freya was not the best of ideas was not the best idea, as she entered, bowing to Madam Rosemerta.
Freya merely sat back in Chii's mind, taking a look at the outfits currently out. Perhaps something with the proper amount of lace and silks would show up, and she could add a nice new outfit to their wardrobe. Either way, it was sort of nice, being able to move about like this.

Date: 2006-03-16 09:40 pm (UTC)"WIFE and servant are the same,
But only differ in the name :
For when that fatal knot is ty'd,
Which nothing, nothing can divide :
When she the word obey has said,
And man by law supreme has made,
Then all that's kind is laid aside,
And nothing left but state and pride :
Fierce as an eastern prince he grows,
And all his innate rigour shows :
Then but to look, to laugh, or speak,
Will the nuptial contract break.
Like mutes, she signs alone must make,
And never any freedom take :
But still be govern'd by a nod,
And fear her husband as a God :
Him still must serve, him still obey,
And nothing act, and nothing say,
But what her haughty lord thinks fit,
Who with the power, has all the wit.
Then shun, oh ! shun that wretched state,
And all the fawning flatt'rers hate :
Value yourselves, and men despise :
You must be proud, if you'll be wise.
"I now ask for your responses regarding this poem." She waits, feeling at home at the center of attention. She had missed the time she ruled her social circle like a queen.
