Steph woke up with a pounding headache, feeling so very hungover. Which was weird, considering she didn’t drink. And she couldn’t remember any recent head injuries. What the heck-

Oh. Oh. Junk food. It had betrayed her so.

She recalled wolfing down a brownie. After that, things were fuzzy. From the bits that she could piece together, there was some very major damage control to attend to. Buff Orpington had his work cut out for him.

House really had no excuse for having been away as long as he did. If most people asked, he'd give them some long-winded story about a medical case that had evolved into an epidemic and then had evolved yet further into an entirely new disease that he had discovered and promptly cured. It would, of course, be a huge lie, but people tended to believe his lies.

Then again, House had left a note on Wilson's door saying: Gone to get cigarettes. H. After nearly a month, that excuse probably wouldn't be so useful anymore. But hey, Wilson might still believe him if House made up a story about traffic troubles. Maybe.

Alright, Wilson wasn't stupid, and wouldn't believe that. But for some reason, House was feeling almost guilty about the fact that he'd been away for so long - though he'd never admit that his behaviour might resemble something called 'fretting'. That was too pathetic for his liking.

( And he'd never actually apologize. So the best plan was to barge in on Wilson. At 3am. )

Rose had a vaguely unsettled feeling that she should be much more worried about running into The Doctor (the other Doctor, brown-eyed, freckled, apparently with a mole) than she currently felt. But after the first moment of gawking surprise when The Doctor (her Doctor, the proper Doctor, thank you) had mentioned, seriously enough, that his other self (pretty boy with the fluffy hair and sideburns of all things) was here, back again, Rose hadn't really worried at all.

mod announcement! READ THIS OR DIE

We have a few announcements to make!

First of all, our dear co-mod Aayla is undergoing surgery, as she's already posted. Prima and Siri will be managing Hatness, the contact post, etc., during this time. Everyone send Aayla your strongest get-well vibes, and maybe some fan-art of Yoda!

Second, we'd like to raise awareness of the adoptions post. As you all know, HH has no posting quota. However, as we've said before, we strongly frown on character squatting. The only reason we can get by as a community without a posting quota is by virtue of the fact that HHers are not dicks. When a character is underplayed, and another player asks that character's player whether they'd mind handing over the character, almost invariably the first player is gracious and reasonable. We as a mod team appreciate your courtesy to one another, and your general nonsuckitude! The adoptions post makes it that much easier for people to offer up their underplayed characters. We thank those who've commented there, and want to encourage the rest of you to comment there as well, if you have a character you know you really don't have much of a muse for anymore but don't want to popcorn.

Finally ... there will be another Secrets Board this weekend! It will go up at 8 pm Eastern time this Friday, July 6. New players who weren't around for the first ones might want to have a look at the previous boards, to see what we're talking about -- just click the "secret" tag.
