Miss Evans:

Unexpected personal developments have temporarily postponed my research on evil clowns. I assure you I have not forgotten it, nor have I forgotten we were to collaborate in certain respects, and I apologise for my silence on the subject. I am ready to take up the project again; have you still an interest in it?

- S. Maturin.

Typewriter (scratched multiple times with the word 'Shooter') hefted awkwardly in his arms, Mort Rainey clutches his notes in between his teeth as he heads towards the Library. It was a little too rowdy in the Ravenclaw common room; he had a feeling the Library might be a little more peaceful. Eventually he found an empty table and set the old machine down, a handy silencing charm ensuring the rattling of the keys wouldn't disturb anyone with their loud clattering. The papers, adorned with messy scribbling, were tossed beside him.

He had also meant to check out Wizard literature, though he had half a mind to expect that in the middle of reading a book about dragons, he might suddenly be the victim of a vicious beast emerging from the pages trying to re-enact what it had just done to helpless villagers.

Staring at his Royal Office, Mort wondered vaguely if one was allowed to drink in the Library. Writing pages that would ultimately be thrown away in a fit of frustration always made him thirsty.

(OOC: Do come in and pester/amuse/talk to him; it's not like he's going to get a lot of writing done anyway. Damn that writer's block!)

It had been over a month since Stephen last held office hours, and with another class session coming up, he felt he ought to make good on the promise he had made in the sign-up sheet: that he could be consulted in his office for questions Terry could not answer.

Office hours sometimes occasioned interesting conversations having nothing to do with Potions, in any case ...

Therefore, he had his house-elf post the usual notice:

Office hours for Potions are being held. Current and prospective students are welcome to drop by Professor Maturin's office to discuss any issue of interest to them.

If no one showed up, he had a very interesting monograph on lichens to read.

Dear Jack Jack-O Jack and the Beanstalk Jack O'Lantern Jackal J-man Jay-Z Jack in the Box Jack,

Hey there, Jack! My name is Michael Scott, and I'm the Regional Manager of Dunder Mifflin Scranton and the newest branch in the Dunder Mifflin family, Dunder Mifflin Hogsmeade, which is a start-up parchment supply office. I'm writing because I'm investing in an oil business, and I was told you might be interested in being a co-investor/business partner/loan officer. You interested in meeting for lunch to talk about the opportunity? I would suggest Hooters or Chili's, but they don't seem to have that here, so I guess the Great Hall will have to do. Maybe some hot chick can walk around in a tight shirt while the elves serve Awesome Blossoms.

TTFN! Dinkin' flicka!

Your main man,
Michael
