"Nooo... I wouldn't do that. Come on, you're my bestest friend!"

The newly-sixteenified Squee was sitting cross-legged underneath a tree on the school grounds, and was in the middle of an intense conversation with Shmee, who was slumped in the grass directly opposite. From the looks of things, the bear had the upper hand. Despite the fact that his demented grin was sewed on, Shmee still somehow managed to give off an air of annoyed disapproval. After a few minutes of empty silence, Squee hung his head and stared at the grass.

"'m sorry. I didn't wanna make you mad, it's just... What? No!" Squee tapped his forehead. "I'm still the same up here. I just look different." Another silence. "Really? Why'd you thINK-eep!" he slapped a hand over his mouth as his voice cracked and glowered down at the bear. If teddy bears could snicker, Shmee would've been doubled over laughing. "Yeah, ha-ha, very funny..." Squee grumbled, turning slightly red.

A while ago Stephen Maturin-mun wrote up a wonderful post wondering how close characters in Hogwarts_Hocus stick to canon, and how much fanon or personal interpretation bleeds into characterization. Many long essays were written by all.

Time passed, and now we have a lovely collection of new characters, plus older characters that have changed over the months. The question remains: how do YOU play your characters? How much do you take from canon?

Agnes:

Greetings! I haven't seen you around for some time, and I'm sorry about that! I've been really busy with ... well, all sorts of craziness. I'd love to catch up if you have time- can we get some tea or something together? I'm hoping for some advice, too... I want to make a talisman for a friend of mine, but what I know of talisman-making is that it's -really- intense and really easy to mess up.

Thanks in advance!

((I've finished my last final, so I'm back, but responding VERY sketchily until next week when I'm packed, graduated, moved, and home again. This RP's primary purpose is Nemo and Grant's goodbye for the summer, but characters who missed Nemo may wander by to welcome him back if they desire.))

As quickly as Nemo had been transported to his father's anemone near an Australian reef, he found himself back in his tank, in the Care of Magical Creatures shed. He twirled around in the water and did an underwater somersault, ducking down to swim through the shiny plastic beads Snooch had given him so long ago. Domino almost cracked a smile as he gruffly said, "Hey, kid. Good to see you. I took care of the fuzzball." Indeed, Furryfurrysoft looked round, plump and sleek as usual. She chirped with pleasure as Nemo pushed his snout against the glass nearest her cage.

"I had fun with my dad, but I missed you guys!" Nemo exclaimed.

He looked up as the door to the shed creaked open.
