((Cthulhu will be manifesting as Cthulhoo from the Unspeakable Vault of Doom- same aeon-old god-like horror from the stars, only more cracky and conversational. Smaug brought a sacrifice, so I couldn't resist pulling the Great Old One from his popcorned state. Although he won't be 'living' at Hogwarts, he's not repopping, and will visit on occasion, especially if summoned/called. Which, in his UVOD manifestation, is very easy. No need to reply to him, as, he's just popping in to grab some sacrifices- it seemed easier for keeping track of thing to post it as its own backdated post than to unpop him inside of another thread.))

(Backdated to the Shoggies' Cthulhoo Day Party.)

Somewhere in the South Pacific ocean, around 47 degrees S, 126 degrees W, lies the sunken city of R'lyeh. This ancient, non-Euclidean city of cyclopean proportions has existed since the days when the Earth was still young, before Earthly life had even set foot upon soil of the continents. When R'lyeh was built, no Earthly creatures had feet- even fins were a development still in the works. This of course did not mean that nothing had set foot on land- for, in these days, Earth harbored advanced life from elsewhere. The Elder Things had a thriving civilization on the continent that would eventually slip to the southern pole and freeze. And, the Star Spawn dwelt in R'lyeh with their master, Cthulhu. Although these creatures had shape, they were not made of matter as it is usually understood, and when "They could plunge from world to world through the sky; but when the stars were wrong, They could not live. But although They no longer lived, They would never really die." When the stars had been right, Great Cthulhu and his Star Spawn had traveled through the cosmic voids to Earth, but, eventually, the stars had stopped being right. And so, Cthulhu and his Star Spawn remain in R'lyeh, dreaming and waiting for the stars to be right once more, at which time, Cthulhu and his Star Spawn will rise once more, and will find mankind delicious.

((OOC: In the Skulduggery Pleasant canon, when a person first sees China Sorrows, they fall instantly in love. The ability isn't gender bias, it will affect men and women equally. In addition, within the canon, is the susceptibility to control somone once their name is known. These abilities may or may not affect the characters at Hogwarts if that is the mun's preference. If you think it will be fun to play into it, e.g. to let a character fall for China, then you'll need to let me know through OOC or pm. For more information on China, check her user profile. Her mun.))

China Sorrows; her hair, black as deepest sin, framed her face while her eyes, as pale as her brother’s had been, scanned the sorting room. The heavy doors closed behind her with a soft fwump. The skirt she wore was a light green, and the jacket was of a green deeper than a thousand crushed emeralds. Her necklace was exquisite, having cost two very fine men their lives. At times, she wore it as a tribute to their sacrifice. Other times, she wore it because it went well with the skirt.

China walked to the desk at the far end of the room, situated below the large arched windows that overlooked the lush grounds of the castle. When she sat down in the chair the quill, having been unanimated next to a scruffy piece of parchment, became animated, standing at attention on its gold-point. China eyed it. A small smile graced her lips. She noticed that as she leant in to read the parchment, the quill was slowly turning clockwise on the desktop, grinding into the grain. Curious, she thought.

At the parchment’s top it explained that any verbal answers would be written down by the quill. The addendum and questions were all written in the elegant, Edwardian script. She was intrigued. She read on.

Allow me to elucidate... )

Being unexpectedly transported to an unfamiliar castle wasn't the most inconvenient thing that had ever happened to Mordi, but it was going to put a crimp in his afternoon plans.

He looked like a businessman who'd been dressed by Batman. Mordi's fine Italian suit was offset by a flowing cape and binoculars clipped to his belt. "Hello? What's going on?" He looked around for the person who had teleported him, but didn't see anyone. Maybe they had the power of invisibility, along with teleportation.

Then he saw the paper on the table, and the feeling of confusion drained away to exasperation. "Paperwork," he sneered. Even on a good day, Mordi radiated smarminess and condescension. The sneer wasn't anything special. "You brought me here for paperwork?" The "you" being the Venerate Council, of course, but on closer examination there didn't seem to the multiple forms (all in triplicate) that were the hallmark of the Council's paperwork.

Knowing that if he blew off this form, there'd be even more down the line, he hunkered down and filled out the questions.

Kidnapping is so passé. )

If you have the time, I'd like to meet with you and get this over with.

Meet me in the Slytherin Common Room.

Kuronue

Giving the note to Miyako, he sent her off and then settled back in the black leather couch, resting his boots on the table before him. He was still irritated about the thing with Mello. This, at least, would take his mind off it. And that bitch who hurt Kaga.
