An attractive blonde woman appears in the Sorting Room. After wandering around for a while, twirling in the middle of the room until she got dizzy, and playing the echo game, she discovers the application.

Am I in England? *in a bad British accent* That's brilliant mate! Hip, hip, cheerio!

*in her regular voice* Aw, I've never been in England before. My friend, Ross, got married in London, once, but I was, you know, pregnant with my brother's triplets and couldn't fly.

If I fill this out will I win something? Oh, oh, I never win anything! *pauses* Well, once I did. But that game was rigged so I could smuggle the drugs hidden in the stuffed bear. I kicked that ring toss' ass, though.

*takes out a pink, sparkly pen and proceeds to fill out the application*

We bring joyous tidings!

The first item of news: Catremistrae (dinosaurman) has agreed to become the newest member of the Hogwarts Hocus mod team. Cat's been with HH from very early on, and we're thrilled to have her aboard. *cue the confetti and balloons!*

This means that our founder Liz, who's served long and faithfully, can finally step back completely as her schedule requires. While she will not longer be serving as a moderator, Liz will stay with us as a player, and make herself available to the mod team for consultation when needed. So there is no loss to mourn, as we'll still have her; but thanks is due for all the hard work she's put into the founding and running of this community!

Second, the long-planned Hogwarts Hocus wiki project has finally launched! We hope this wiki will become a repository for the kinds of lore that new players often find themselves wondering, and that up until now have largely been transmitted through chat. What's with the werewolves? What's with the "face-eating talking cats"? Who is Wesley and why does Cooper call people Wesley who, well, aren't named Wesley?

You'll find us at hogwartshocus.wikispaces.com. The user interface at wikispaces.com is fairly simple and intuitive. Still, we'll be trying to write up a bit of a FAQ in a few days. In the meantime, feel free to sign up for wikispaces.com and request membership in the hogwartshocus wikispace, then create your own pages for characters and events of interest. Some examples:

A cautionary note: The contents of the wiki are strictly OOC knowledge, for the entertainment and edification of the players. There is no IC equivalent of the wiki that your characters can access -- finding out OOCly from the wiki that Crowley is a demon or that Stephen is an intelligence agent doesn't mean that you can use that knowledge ICly.

With the OOC nature of the project understood, we encourage all players to take part in this collaboration. It's yet another way in which the crack that is HH can devour your time and sanity!

OOC: The Calendar Pups

Props to the mods for being awesome and clearing this.

OK. Nny came up with the idea of a Cafepress hogwarts_hocus calendar. Because of Cafepress’ ToS which the mods needed in order to give clearance to such a project, sadly, this is not to be. But on the upside, this is free!

We want to do a hogwarts_hocus calendar. If you want to draw a month, comment under the thread which asks for your name, email address, main pup, what month you’re drawing and what characters you plan to have in. We ask the other month-drawing muns to check this—we don’t want multiple drawings of the same characters, and if possible we want all of the characters in. Crowd scenes are your friends, people! This could be an h_h canon scene (though that may be difficult) or a non-canon one.

The aim of this calendar is to have as many characters as possible in. Muns, if you want your characters to be used or at least are willing to give permission, please comment under the thread that asks for your pups you’d let be drawn (bearing in mind they may not be depicted in a favourable light), and a brief physical description.

If you’re doing a month, I’d like to be able to publish the calendar by December the 25th as a joint community present. The deadline for your calendar part is December the 22nd. Send me an email with the image file attached, and I will respond saying that I got it to put your minds at ease.

The picture should be A4 size, landscape, either digital or on a plain piece of paper, scanned in (as mine will be). I’ll upload them to photobucket, or if anyone would like to host them, feel free, and if someone with Excel could be a dear and do the actual calendary part, I’d be in your debt. *only today discovered that her computer does not have Excel* .

And then you can keep the images on the computer or print them off, make the calendar and have a hogwarts_hocusy year.

These months and the cover page are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Awareness came slowly: hallway, texture of stone under her hand as she leaned.

Not the Academy. No, she wasn't there... hadn't been there for a long time.

Serenity? No. Stone. Stone...

Hogwarts. Oh. Without thinking about it, she reached back--- felt the rings there. But there should be a ribbon.

Stephen. She needed Stephen. And, looking up, realized that she'd found him: the door in front of her led to their quarters.

Of course. Where else would she have gone?

She let herself in.

Posted around the school are large posters depicting a space ship rocketing throughout space. Above the space ship are the giant words "SUPER SPACE SHIP!" Beneath the picture is the following.

Do you want to have super adventures in space? Do you want to contribute to one of the most super scientific events ever to take place at Hogwarts EVER? Then contribute to project Let's Explosively Get to Space, or Project LEGS. Project LEGS is an effort to construct a fully functional space ship, led by the underground face of Hufflepuff, the most super man of Hogwarts, FRANKY! We are currently looking for anyone with any engineering, navigational, or general sailing experience to help this mighty endeavor! Please either apply in person, or send Franky an owl. If you wish to apply in person, Franky will either be in the Great Hall, in a class, or sleeping in Hufflepuff Tower. Be Super! Help get LEGS into space!

In the Great Hall, Franky is working on what looks like blue prints. Scattered around him are countless piles of books on space, machinery, energy sources, engines, planes, physics, and, of course, space ships. Every now and then he crumples up what he was working on, tosses it over his shoulder into a massive pile of paper, and grabs a new scroll to use. If you listen hard enough, you can hear him mumbling to himself.

((Finally got this together. Come bother Franky, even if you don't want to join project LEGS. After all, this is quite a strange sight.))
