Oddly enough, Mokuba had been about to suggest to Chii she just pick a time and send out owls to tell everyone to just be in the library if they want to help, but apparently Eiko was one step ahead of him, and thought the same way. He liked that.
With an amused grin, he entered the library with a couple of botany books and settled next to her.
In a whispered voice he said, "Hi. Did anyone respond to you? I think everyone's busy, or something."
Todd peeked inside the library, holding two Herbology books under one arm and gripping one of his backpack straps with the other. Shmee's head poked out of the zippered-up backpack, making it look a bit like the bear was being asphyxiated.
"Is... Is this where group two is meeting?" he asked in a small voice, not wanting to be shushed by the librarian.
"... I guess we could check the stuff we already have." He hesitated for a second, then pulled up a chair and sat down on Eiko's other side, putting his books down and gently pushing the backpack under the table with his foot. "There should be something on potatoes in one of these..."
((I found some stuff here (http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Cookbook:Potato) and here. (http://www.drweil.com/u/QA/QA252785/) Hurray for wikipedia!))
Mokuba perks up from the side and peers over, then cheerfully announces, "Yep! Sounds like Chii was right after all. Poison when they spoil, and you take home the roots. Now all we got to do is find them, right? And write up briefly about them, and present. Who wants to do what? I can go look for them, since Chii figured out which it was--or I could present, since I'm decentish at doing that sort of thing."
[[ OOC: Just a little late for that, since they came up with this after. Want me to do the owl?]]
Whispering in return, Mokuba said, "Yeah, sure. Whenever we both have some free time, and you want to, just let me know." For now, he didn't mind using the school owls.
"Okay guys. We know it's a potato, and we have one coming to us," Mokuba said, finally just taking charge. "Chii figured out it was a potato, so she's done some work. Todd found the information to confirm it was a potato, pulling up the stuff I remember--about not eating it when green. And Eiko pulled us together for the meeting, and suggested we get one from the kitchen instead of having to look for it.
"Now we need to decide who does the write up and who presents. I'll do either of those, since I didn't solve it, and I didn't have research immediately presented."
[[Honestly? I'm starting to encounter writer's block from all of these essays, so it might be wise for someone else to do the write up. >.< I'll do it if I have to, though.]]
"Well, it's not really an essay. He said to keep it brief," Mokuba pointed out as the House Elf he had called on brought them their potato. "And there we go. Object acquired. And we could all write a couple of sentences or so easily enough, but only one person will be presenting, so whoever it is should get out of having to write part of the essay, unless they've done nothing up until this point."
"Oh, well, I guess so. But I'll help you anyway." Eiko smiled at him. "Besides, what's there to write about potatoes? They're brown, kinda lumpy, and taste good with butter."
"Well, I'm fairly sure Professor Crowley is looking more for the poisonous aspect, since that's what the assignment focused on--poisonous plants. I'll check on the directions later, though just to make sure. And in that case, we should write about how if a potato has any green spots you should cut them out and not eat them. And how you shouldn't eat the eyes either. And we should probably be prepared to explain how the potato matches up from the riddle," Mokuba suggested as he wrote down each point they would need.
"I'm not sure if he'll see it as extra credit. He said brief...so as long as we can fit in, we can go for it." [[Heh...technically, it could be used as a poison, so that's not too made up.]]
