The Baby Sun had been gone for a week, and nothing had spontaneously combusted, been covered in pink sludge or played disturbing music in that time. Mikami had finally accepted that it probably wasn't going to, and that the world around Hogwarts had returned to - comparative sanity.

Which left him free to think of other things. Specifically, the anonymous conversation he'd had on the secret post. He had no idea who the other commenter had been, of course, or whether their circumstances had been anything like his own, whether he should respect or revile them for what they'd admitted. But... God was trying to teach me something. It could have meant anything, it could have been a coincidence, it almost certainly was...

...and still, he couldn't stop thinking about it.

He couldn't just post asking to hear from that commenter again, though. They'd confessed anonymously for a reason, and there were too many other people who'd find it amusing to respond. Something more indirect, then.

Eventually he posted the following, anonymously, in the early morning when there were few people around and not much chance of being caught. Masuyo lay on his lap, occasionally adding remarks like sdffdr and ############# to the post, which he carefully edited out again. He hadn't been quite comfortable leaving her behind.

Because of my god, I have been given more chances than a human should to prove my despairs wrong. I was never strong enough to fight alone.

Not for a long time. I believed that I did, once. That a god watched over me, too... but he turned out only to be human.

Only human? Perhaps that person will become a god after his mortal death as mine did hundreds of thousands of years ago.

[The probability is very low, but Rika knows that she left a consciousness behind in the realm of the gods. It may be possible for others then, even if Rika had special circumstances that created that being.]

I've heard that the dead just fade away. But with the number of dead people here, I'm not so sure that's true.

There are very old records that prove my god once lived. I believe that the very sword she was killed with is kept locked up in her shrine as well.

I do not know what exactly creates them, but having faith in them keeps their power strong.

If it even matters. The rules may be different in my world - I know a real god of death, and he's never seemed concerned with faith. Only lives, and entertainment. And apples, for some reason.

I was the only person able to see my god, but the elderly also had their faith in her for as long as I can remember. A single human may not be enough.

Gods have their own realm, they don't need faith there as far as I know. Just to have influence in the human world there must be some faith.

He had enough followers. Some of them might carry on believing, even after his death. But I'm not certain I can. I don't even have long to live in my own world. Ten days, after I'm sent back.

...still, I'm not the one who matters. I'd like to hope that he could bring justice to the world, again, however unlikely it seems...

This always horrifies people who aren't from my universe. That's - probably fair, I can admit it now. But still... I lived in a world with no war, and very few violent crimes.

I know that a young man named Yagami Light tried to rid his world from all evil by using a shinigami's death notebook under the alias 'Kira'. Light was in Hogwarts for sometime, but has since become popcorn. Mikami Teru was a follower of Kira and is presently in Hogwarts.

I just heard a summary of what happened in your world, I suspect, but it's not my business to know more.

He took Masuyo back to his room, first - it was cold, and he didn't want to take her to meet a complete stranger who knew incriminating parts of his past. And then, ten minutes later, he could be found standing by the edge of the lake, with his right hand hidden in his coat pocket, gripping his wand. Just in case. Not that this was going to go horribly wrong.

Rika waited for Mikami to leave the computer lab before she moved from her spot. She had her wand with her in a pocket so she hid in an empty room nearby to change her appearance and to create a mask that somewhat resembles a cat with pointed ears and what appeared to be painted on blue whiskers. She took a few moments adjusting to the height difference between her child sized body and this one and had a house elf get her coat. She'd have to enlarge it like her other clothes, but she had plenty of time in Hogwarts to learn those sort of spells.

Time was about up once that was complete so she ran outside, but made sure she was at a confident, and hopefully non-threatening walk by the time she was near the lake.

Mikami relaxed a small amount as the person came nearer - she didn't appear familar, or especially threatening despite her face being hidden.

He nodded to her as she approached. "...so. Here we are."

"Yes. Hello, Mikami," Rika reaches up to remove the mask as she said she would, but pauses once her fingers touch the mostly white surface. Holding the mask in place, but also adjusted so that her words are clear from behind it.

"What do you expect to gain from this?" she questions Mikami without showing her face. If the conversation can at least start before Teru sees her name, then that might help their relationship.

Teru sighed, looking down at the water as it rippled with the wind. "I don't know. But what I told you - I've never told anyone else."

"It is good to have someone you can trust and can talk to about anything," Rika says as she finally removes the mask from her face and stores it in a deeper-than-it-looks pocket inside her coat. "I would have gone insane if I never had that comfort before."

Mikami will either react to her name or not at this point, so Rika waits with a monotone expression on her face for his reply.
