1. What is your favorite cheese? Why is it your favorite?
I actually don't have cheese anymore. It was one of the only things I ate during pregnancy so it's sort of tainted for me.

2. Who would you kill first, Barney or Carrottop?
Barney. Absolutely Barney. I heard that damn dinosaur sing his endless, over joyous tunes for months. MONTHS on end. Kill Barney. Please kill Barney.

3. What time is it where you are?
Day. That's all I know now. It's day. Time sort of feels funny now.

4. If you were Albus Dumbledore returned from the dead, which member of the Order of the Phoenix would you sexually harass? How would you harass them? If you are Albus Dumbledore, please answer as if you were Sirius Black.
Oh my god I love Dumbledore. I wish I was a member of the Order of the Phoenix...

5. If you are pushing to be in:

A. Slytherin - please state the clever, witty name of the bar in which you bartend, in the dark. My friend Vivian worked at a bar called Tequila Mockingbird's. I've always thought that was clever.

B. Gryffindor – Debate whether Harry should ultimately end up married to Fred or George. Use examples from a variety of world mythologies to bolster your argument. Um. I'd say go with George, it was the name of one of The Beatles and to me that's always a safe bet. But Fred means 'constant peace' in German which I really, really love. And if you're getting married I'd say you'd want constant peace. I changed my mind. He should marry Fred.

C. Ravenclaw – You guys are supposed to be smart. Explain why my desk is inundated with paperwork at all times, even though I’m constantly disposing of it.
I'm a third-year med student existing in a hospital floating on miles of water with healing powers in the form of green fire. I'm allowed to have paperwork on my desk.
D. Hufflepuff – Prove you are not useless.

6. Offer a bribe to the members of this community so that they will not squib you. Items used in bribery do not necessarily have to belong to the person offering the bribe. Do not threaten us rather than offering a bribe. A threat indicates you either don't really want to be here, or don't have enough sense to answer the question properly. The hat will automatically squib you, regardless of other votes, if you do.

Remember that healing power I told you about? It's really cool complete with green flames and good feelings. If it still works I'll use it for you if you ever need it?

"Time feels funny to you? There aren't any clocks or such where you were?"

Jemma looked up and took notice of the man in front of her. She looked around the room and was surprised she wasn't alone.

"Oh, hello. Yes, of course there were clocks but I...." Jemma trailed off and thought about it for a second. "I'm just confused. That's all." Jemma offered a helpful smile.

It still hurts, but at least Soichiro can make it to the Sorting Room before his knee gives him trouble.

"Well, at least you had a normal craving," he said, looking at the answer to question one and thinking of what Sachiko wanted during her two pregnancies.

Jemma was thankful for the polite conversation starter, but something wasn't right. She came here, to this room, to this place, with something missing.

Labor. The last thing she remembered was labor.

"I had some cravings I couldn't believe," Jemma admitted, distracted. She didn't have her baby now.

He shook his head and limped toward a chair. "I, frankly, never understood that."

Camilla blinked.

"Miles of water with healing powers in the form of green fire? I guess it has a sort of mythic resonance ... but what exactly are you talking about?"

"The hospital?" Jemma answered with a question. She assumed everyone had heard, but judging from the strange, empty ping in her feeling, this was not the same world she knew.

"The flood? Do you not know any of it?"

"Not a bit of it. Well, I mean, I know stories about floods. There's the one in the Book of Genesis, of course. And then there's the one in the Epic of Gilgamesh ... I don't remember any green fire in either of those stories, though." At once curious and skeptical, Camilla studied Jemma's face. She didn't look like a madwoman, but these things could be so easy to conceal.

"I like your hair," Tenel Ka told Jemma. It was probably the closest thing to a compliment she'd made in months. The one-armed Jedi's own copper hair was caught up in a wild bunch of braids, with beads and feathers woven in. Tenel Ka was not a mean girl, but she saved her praise for when it was warranted.

Jemma, in all of her strength refrained from making her standard smart comments about the unpopularity of braids and the repulsiveness of feathers.

"If I said I liked yours too would that seem arrogant?" Jemma smiled politely and ran a hand through her hair. "They look smiliar, so we must have good taste."

"If you said that you liked it, and you did, that would be a fact," Tenel Ka replied. "There is no arrogance in the simple truth."

"Medical school is a challenging course of study," observes L, "although the use of fire is probably not common practice?"

"You're telling me," Jemma told the boy. Even thinking about the children's hospital made her tired. Before addressing her fire, she laughed at the question and appreciated the humor.

"That'd be correct. Fire's not a standard around the ward. But then again talking dolphins, miles of dark water and a little bastard of a kid named Pickie isn't common practice either is it?"

"Children are often unkind," he shrugs, "in my experience, which admittedly hardly qualifies as extensive."

He's actually twenty, when you look closer. Past the bad posture, ill fitting clothes and solemn expression.

Since becoming pregnant Jemma found a strange fascination with sex. There was a duality to this, however, because at the same time she was repulsed by it.

"Hello Mr. Naked." Jemma said with a nod. "Slytherin?"

Mel's own healing power does not, sadly, come with green flames. She only has the good feelings side-effect down to a tee. Approaching the woman, she smiles. 'So, why green?'

"I wish I knew..." Jemma offered politely. "I wish I knew why flames? Shouldn't healing power be cooler than flames?"

'No,' Mel retorts, grinning. 'Flames signify cool stuff. It's always the case. I'm Mel, by the way. Is healing...' she hesitates. She's an angel, Jemma can hardly be expected to sense that. 'Is healing, like, your thing?'

Jemma tilted her head and looked at the hat with a warm smile.

"I never thought of it that way, but now that you bring it up- yes. Yes it would."
