Semi-Open RP: Astronomy Field Trip

Last time Slartibartfast had done one of these, he'd carried everybody to Magrathea in an old converted van. This time, there were so many people going, he'd had his ship the Starship Bistromath delivered, and it now sat idling on the lawn. Irrational behavior wasn't going to get them to Magrathea in anything like enough time, however, so he'd refitted it with an Infinite Improbability Drive.

"All right, ah, everyone, I want you to, you know, to find your partners, and we'll get on the, the, you know, the ship. I do hope everyone dressed, uh, dressed sensibly."

Molly put down her sign. "Hi," she said. "Nice to meet you. Have you, uh, have you ever been on this kind of trip before?"

"To see planets being built? No. I didn't even KNOW planets were built."

Molly laughed. "Me neither. I don't have a clue what to expect from this, but I'm glad I don't get airsick." The fact that such a codicil had been put on the sign worried her slightly. "I'm not sure I trust that...thing, though." She nodded at the ship, which was idling like an old Cadillac.

"Good thing, yes. I don't get airsick either. And what IS that thing?"

"Some kind of a spaceship, I think. At least, I hope so." It certainly looked...weird as hell, really, and she wasn't sure how they were meant to get to wherever they were supposed to be going--even in a spaceship, it would take years to reach anywhere, wouldn't it?
