Hi, all back. Must leave again, but only for a couple hours this time. Been to Oahu, got sunburned, got a funny t-shirt.

So, um, yeah. I'm going to Hawaii for about a week, so while I'll be online tomorrow, I'll be gone from the 16th until probably fairly late on the 25th (getting back in at 5 in the morning, local).

Apologies to anyone I'm RPing with, most especially Geoffrey-mun and the whole play thing. Erk can launch into his monologue tomorrow and I'm going to hope like fury that I'm not too late to work on the whole play thing if he makes it.

Last time Slartibartfast had done one of these, he'd carried everybody to Magrathea in an old converted van. This time, there were so many people going, he'd had his ship the Starship Bistromath delivered, and it now sat idling on the lawn. Irrational behavior wasn't going to get them to Magrathea in anything like enough time, however, so he'd refitted it with an Infinite Improbability Drive.

"All right, ah, everyone, I want you to, you know, to find your partners, and we'll get on the, the, you know, the ship. I do hope everyone dressed, uh, dressed sensibly."

The problem with hailing from the 24th century was that the volumes Dax believed to be vital cornerstones of a proper Astronomy course hadn't been written yet. And so she found herself pouring over a mountain of textbooks, hoping to find a volume that wouldn't be proven wholly incorrect by the time First Contact came about.

"Wrong. Wrong. Plagiarized." Dax sighed, and ripped out an entire section of the book, before placing it on top of the growing ‘discard’ pile. She picked up a new book, and groaned. "Superfluous. Oh, that system doesn’t even exist. Wrong. Better explained by the Vulcans."

Surprisingly, going over sub-par instructional aides wasn't Jadzia's idea of a good time. Her door was open, and she would have welcomed any distraction.

The door to Minerva McGonagall's office was open and there was a sign tacked to the front of it that read:

Office Hours for Transfiguraton are today. All students are welcome to meet with Professor McGonagall regarding any questions or concerns they might have about Transfiguration

Of course, McGonagall herself was seated at the desk in the office awaiting any students that might wander by.

*Buzz hasn't got the hang of warding mail yet, but he's managed to figure out how to enchant a paper airplane to fly. Which is good, since the owls are bigger than he is.*

*A small spaceship that appears to be made out of cardboard flies into the room. It lands upright on a chair, and the front opens to allow what appears to be a foot-high astronaut out.* I told them I could get that hovercraft motor to work.
