All right, Silas was used to massive cathedrals and the rambling corridors of the Opus Dei center in New York, but Hogwarts dwarfed them all in both size and sheer confusion. He'd found Ravenclaw all right, the night before, but now that he was attemtping to go anywhere else, he found himself hopelessly lost in a corridor that looked, well, like all the other corridors he'd seen. The paintings moved, and spoke, and Silas was beginning to think that if he hadn't been crazy before, he was well on the way there now.

He'd met no one so far, for which he was almost grateful--as bizarrely kind as many people had been here, he still hadn't begun to wrap his mind around just what sort of place he'd landed in. Sooner or later he had to run into someone, though, if only so they could tell him where he was, and at least try to point him back to familiar ground.

This place needs a chapel, he thought. Likely it already had one, but yet again he had to actually find it.

((Come poke/torment/see the crazy monk man))

"Afin? ...Afin?"

Busy looking in nooks, crannies and hiding places, a very frazzled and distracted Laura almost completely failed to notice the six-foot-plus albino with a limp before she sideswiped him.

"Afin?... - Oh! Oh, I'm so so so sorry, Mr., um -" She looked up at him. And up some more. "- um, have you seen a really really adorable little boy around here anywhere, answers to Afin? He thinks we're playing Hide and Seek, and he's got a really cute kitten with him, white with tabby patches..."

Yes, she's babbling. It's been that kind of day.

"Ah. 'Here' is what used to be one of the classroom sections of the castle, one that's not used much anymore. We're not far from the Care of Magical Creatures professor's office, I just came from there. I thought - well, I though Afin might've gone there, for a lot of reasons."

She frowned, but forced her expression back to polite neutrality.

"Was there someplace in particular you wanted to find? Like the Great Hall, or the library maybe? I could lead you there, and keep an eye out for Afin at the same time. At this point I might as well just look in random spots, logic's getting me nowhere."

Laura was going to be hard-pressed to find Afin. The potion that Grant had taken earlier was slowly wearing off, and what little sense he'd originally had returned as well.

While Laura was talking to Silas, the temporarily young man sidled up to her. "Looking for somebody?" he asked.

Laura first gaped, then beamed, then grinned slyly at the handsome young man with a familiar kitten in his hands.

"Well, here's one of my escapees accounted for. You wouldn't happen to have seen the world's most adorable three-year-old scamp running around with that kittycat, would you?"

Robin was headed out to his makeshift archery grounds. He was wearing the modern clothing Chance had suggested - jeans, sweatshirt, sneakers, and a down vest, but the ancient-looking bow and quiver over his shoulder likely still gave him away.

There was a man in monk's robes wandering the corridor; the sight gave Robin a familiar jolt. Tall like Little John, clad like Friar Tuck: it was no wonder Robin went to him with a friendly air, able to overlook Silas' unconventional appearance with but a momentary hesitation.

"Can I help you, brother?"

Robin nodded and held out his hand, intending to grasp the other man's wrist. "Robin of Loxley. I can lead you to the library, if you like, brother. Are you newly arrived?"

Robin merely nodded and lowered his hand. In his day children with physical differences were often misused or neglected; he understood how someone with this man's appearance might be unused to touch. "The library is this way, Brother...?"

*Erk is startled to turn a corner and run into a man in a vaguely familiar outfit.* Those robes... You're not an Elimine monk, by any chance, are you?

Etruria, mostly, although I'm fairly certain there's at least one monastery in the Lycian League, probably in Ostia. Serra must have wanted to go there for a reason, after all...

*Erk stops.* Forgive me; I simply asked on the off chance you were from Elibe. I am Erk.

Well, it's... The directions have little meaning, here, of course, but it's in the center of the northern part of Elibe... North of the Lycian League, west of Illia and the Sacae plains. May I ask where the Opus Dei come from?

KOS-MOS had gotten herself settled into Sparklypoo, and was now going to the library. She had come to the conclusion that if a library is where people learn things, she can learn how to dance the Robot there.

On the way there, she approached a tall albino man. She stopped to give him a look, because in this light, he did look like Voyager. But a quick scan showed that this man was not Voyager. She began to walk again.

Legolas's footsteps were normally inaudible, and for a while he'd fallen into the habit of making enough noise for the beings around him to hear his approach. It was only polite. But he was sadly out of practise now, having spent so much time of late alone in the woods, and thus was caught by surprise when the tall man nearly walked right into him as they both turned a corner at the same moment. Deftly sidestepping, the Elf turned to look at the man.

"Excuse me," he murmured, offering a small, apologetic smile. Though he hadn't run into the man, something about his strange manner compelled Legolas to ask, "Are you all right?"

Even by elven standards the man was unusually pale, Legolas thought, likewise taking in the stranger's appearance. Was his pallor and red eyes perhaps the result of some mortal sickness? At least the poor fellow wouldn't meet his end at Hogwarts, since none could die there.

"I do," he said, pausing thoughtfully. After a moment he raised a hand as though to direct Silas, then lowered it back to his side, mildly chagrined. "'Twould be far easier to show you, if you'd not mind the company." He placed a hand over his own heart. "I am Legolas, by the way. Your destination is this way." He gestured, waiting for the man to walk beside him rather than behind.

"Has anyone yet explained this place to you? Is it a guild of sorts, a school in which to learn magic. In truth remarkably few classes are held, so if you wish to learn, it's best done on your own. You have the right idea already." As they walked he glanced sidelong at Silas, smiling.

"You'll undoubtedly meet many beings both fair and some quite foul, of all different races, but know that none can die on school grounds; this protection is afforded to all, regardless of who or what they are." This from someone with a long bow slung across his back, a full quiver, and who kept twin long-knives within easy reach. Nevertheless a sense of deep peace emanated from him, a certain stillness. He was not a violent being, simply well prepared.

"Might I have your name, friend?"
