So, Ray had been having a good day, and a bad day. First, he'd gotten locked into a room with his partner by a girl who totally had it comin', now.
That's bad.
Then, he figured out he got locked in because someone'd figured out they both had the hotness goin' on for one another. Huh, crazy, right? A bent Mountie? Who woulda thought? Heh. Now all he had goin' on was a Ralph Wiggum voice going 'I bent my Mountie'.
heheh.
Oh, right. That's good.
Then, just as they were about to go for the good stuff, they got out of the secret passage they were stuck in and tumbled, ass-first, into the Gryffindor Common Room, both of them in rather obviously... rumpled clothing.
Uh. That's bad.
Of course, they were closer to a bed now. That's good...

Date: 2007-02-16 03:10 am (UTC)Ray's threats and Fraser's grumpiness were met with a cheery grin. "So. You boys have fun, er, exploring?"

Date: 2007-02-16 03:12 am (UTC)Also behind Fraser's back, he was giving her a big thumbs up, and showing off that he still had one of Fraser's buttons.

Date: 2007-02-16 03:18 am (UTC)Oh, good grief. He tugged awkwardly at his collar and glared at Lily. "You're taking far too much enjoyment out of this, particularly given how ill-conceived a plan it was."

Date: 2007-02-16 03:26 am (UTC)Trying to look contrite, she failed utterly and just smiled up at Fraser. "Hey, your dad's the one who came up with it. I just locked the door. And what are you complaining about? It worked, didn't it? Maybe you're just mad because my plan was brilliant, eh?"
Then, laughing again, Lily asked, "So? Lots of groping, huh? Yeah, that can happen. Fingers fumbling about, breathing ragged, never knowing what you're going to brush up against." Beaming an innocent smile at the two, Lily nodded seriously. "Those long, dark tunnels are tricky."

Date: 2007-02-16 03:37 am (UTC)Turning back around, he fretfully started trying to reaffix the button to his tunic, though that didn't stop him from arguing. "The lack of thought required to join forces with my father on any project aside, Ray is entirely right," he told her stiffly. "Why didn't you simply say something?" He glanced up, arching a brow. "Or," he added dryly, "at the very least, you might have prepared better beforehand and locked us in a room without an exit."

Date: 2007-02-16 03:43 am (UTC)Folding her arms, Lily snorted. "And, Kowalski, if you couldn't figure it out after two years? Why would you listen to me? As far as the secret passage is concerned..." she shrugged. "Only four blokes I've ever known who've managed to figure out all the ins and outs of this place. Of those four, only one was readily available for a consult, and I didn't figure you'd like me airing your business to people you didn't know. Bob and I kept it within the family, so to speak. Again I ask, why are you complaining? It worked, didn't it?" Then she grinned again. "Besides. Way more fun to trick you into it."

Date: 2007-02-16 03:46 am (UTC)As for why he couldn't figure it out, well... "and have you ever tried to puzzle out a mountie? It's all mysteries and enigmas and secret sauce."

Date: 2007-02-16 04:08 am (UTC)"You might be interested to know," he added conversationally, "that we found the tunnel within ten minutes." Which meant, of course, that all the rest of the time had been occupied in the tunnel, but. Well. The point was that Lily had planned badly, not that they had spent a great deal of time in there.

Date: 2007-02-16 04:25 am (UTC)Whatever Fraser's point had been, Lily simply picked up on the length of time spent in the tunnel. "You might be interested to know," she replied with a grin, "that the point of this was not to lock you in a room. It was to get you two to realize what was right in front of you. So, as long as that happened, I don't sodding care if you grew wings and flew out."

Date: 2007-02-16 04:40 am (UTC)She's right, you know, son, you never would have gotten anything done if not for us, Bob told him cheerfully.
"Oh, for God's sake, never mind," Fraser groaned, his head sinking into his hand.

Date: 2007-02-16 05:08 am (UTC)"Is he here?" Lily looked around, a bit disappointed she couldn't hear him. "Bob, mate, I think it went smashingly."

Date: 2007-02-16 04:45 pm (UTC)"Yes, Dad, you've made your point." He glared at his father. "And if you think I'm going to thank you for it, you're unhinged. Now, are you entirely done gloating?"
Bob was absolutely not done gloating, but he decided he could gloat privately with Lily. Now, how to talk to her... He focused carefully. Don't listen to them, Lily. They're just stroppy because they didn't see it coming.
Fraser made an incoherent sort of a grumbling noise, gritting his teeth, and leaned over to Ray. "I think this may go on for a while."

Date: 2007-02-16 05:23 pm (UTC)Grinning, Lily just shook her head. "Fine, fine. You two crazy kids have fun. And Dief is, I'm assuming, still wherever you two left him, so make sure to tell him hello. Oh, and cover his eyes during the naughty parts." She'd actually turned away, pausing to look back over her shoulder. "What does stroppy mean?" she asked with a puzzled frown.

Date: 2007-02-16 06:26 pm (UTC)Stroppy. You know -- pouting, sulking. Look at those faces. Bob snickered. Fraser pinched the bridge of his nose, his jaw clenching.
"I am neither pouting nor sulking, Dad. In fact, I was in rather a good mood before you showed up," he pointed out irritably.
Oh, I'm sure you were, I'm sure you were. Bob replied cheerfully, unfazed by his son's anger. Well, don't let an old man like me slow you down.
Fraser snapped. "You know, you really need to-- to look into some help, or something, you really do, because this, this is not even remotely a healthy..." Forget this. He had better things to do. All but growling at his father, he grabbed Ray's arm. "Let's go, Ray."

Date: 2007-02-16 07:51 pm (UTC)"Bob!" Lily grinned. "I can hear you!" Then, laughing, she nodded. "And yes, sulking like great sprogs without their favourite toys. They're just angry we figured it out before they did."
Rolling her eyes, she nodded at Ray. "Fine. Dief is better company right now than you two lovesick kids, anyway. Bob, would you care to join me for a cuppa? I'm sure that Dief wouldn't say no to a scone, either."

Date: 2007-02-16 07:53 pm (UTC)Then he was backpedaling to keep up with Fraser and head up the hallway after.

Date: 2007-02-18 01:48 am (UTC)Bob grinned down at the wolf and bent to pat his head, although of course his hand passed right through. Come on, boy. He straightened and followed after Lily. Well, I'd hope so! he laughed in response to her question. I did it for more than thirty years.

Date: 2007-02-18 03:53 am (UTC)Turning back to where she assumed Bob was, Lily said, "My dad worked in an office his whole life. He didn't really enjoy it. I reckon it's a nice thing, to like the work that you're doing."
Walking out the doors, Lily lead the way down to the Great Hall. (http://community.livejournal.com/hogwarts_hocus/1173175.html)
