Rory had camped out in the library to do some studying, As evidenced by the pile of books in front of her. Or... well, under her. She'd fallen asleep there. And unfortunately, the library being quiet as libraries tend to be, she'd stayed asleep for... well. Hours. probably people had seen her there. Possibly made comments. There was a very distinct chance page sixty five of Hogwarts: A History printed on her cheek. Hopefully she wasn't drooling. She certainly wasn't snoring, at least(Again. Libraries, and quiet.)
She did wake up, eventually, and with a start big enough to knock herself out of her chair. Rory wasn't entirely without grace often, but it seems when it came, it came all at once. Blearily, she pushed her seat back up and resumed her place in it. She picked up her book and propped it up a little, attempting to use it as a sort of a shield to minimize the chance that she might be recognized. Though she was aware it was a pretty poor disguise. Still. the less she was labeled by the incident, the better. Especially if she had, in fact, been drooling.

"I need that potions book. Ten more minutes and I was just going to take it, seeing as you obviously weren't going to get to it in that incapacitated state..." As for the last time Paris had slept, whether it was in the library or elsewhere...that was a good question.

Date: 2007-02-10 12:13 am (UTC)"Oh... My God. Paris. When did you?.."
Nevermind. Best not to ask. Probably the answer would induce Rory to remind Paris she needed to eat. And Paris didn't really like being told what to do, especially when she was hyper focused.
"Here. Take it."
She handed it over paused for a minute, and then she leaned over, and in a low whisper asked
"I wasn't drooling, was I?"

Date: 2007-02-10 12:31 am (UTC)"What? No, you didn't drool." Pause. "I think you did start quoting the first stanza of The Waste Land at some point, but you shut up when I kicked your chair, so it wasn't a big deal."

Date: 2007-02-10 12:49 am (UTC)She responded, rubbing her face a little. Ugh. she could feel the mark the book left on her face.
"How long was I out?"
In other words, how long was it since she last ate. Her stomach sounded a bit like it was about to stage a rebellion and escape.

Date: 2007-02-10 02:17 am (UTC)"I don't know. But you were asleep when I got here, which was..." She checks her watch. "About two hours and forty-three minutes ago." She looks up and nods. "For what that's worth. Anyway, you have no idea how bad it is for your spine to fall asleep like that. Especially since you barely moved the whole time."

Date: 2007-02-10 02:31 am (UTC)Valid question. Also. Three hours? Of sleeping on books. Ow. That was...She rolled her neck a bit, with a slightly pained look on her face.
"I've got a pretty good idea, actually."
Rubbing her eyes and yawning a bit. Three hours. Three hour since her last snack. Three hours since her last cup of coffee. This was not the Gilmore way.
"Oh, man. Now I want chocolate."

Date: 2007-02-10 02:42 am (UTC)She goes back to reading for the moment, although after a few seconds, the whole 'chocolate' thing seems to sink it. "Maybe...maybe that wouldn't be bad..." she says contemplatively. She's sort of run low on the snacks she smuggled in from the dining hall, after all. And the brain requires glucose to run properly...

Date: 2007-02-10 01:30 am (UTC)She seemed to be in the library a lot these days (http://community.livejournal.com/hogwarts_hocus/1130952.html), for some reason. Poking around and finding new people. A surprising amount of them hung out here, actually. Otherwise, she was scouring the castle for hours, looking for fresh blood, and... the results were much less than satisfying. She tended to only find... maybe the one or two people on those ventures, and often, they didn't want to talk. Which wasn't fun. Because, if anybody knew Lorelai Gilmore, they knew that she liked talking. But this place was a maze. A definite maze. Stairs and hallways and passages. (Oh my!)
So, yes! Library it was. Interesting place, that library. Pervy, curious writers and puppy-eyed emo kids and... Rory? galore. Lorelai definitely may have tip-toed over, grin on her face as she loomed over Rory and tapped at her shoulder, looking highly amused. "Caught 'cha," she commented with a small laugh, glancing to the book. "You were sleeeeping."

Date: 2007-02-10 01:54 am (UTC)"Mom!"
She exclaimed. Upon realizing she'd just exclaimed in a library, she looked around nervously for angry librarians. She found none, but still lowered her voice to an exaggerated whisper, as if she had to go overboard with the quiet in order to balance out her bad library karma.
"Mom. What are you doing here?"
Not in an accusatory manner. Its not as if she thought her mother had an aversion to libraries it was just that...well, no actually it was exactly like she thought her mother had an aversion to libraries. You couldn't talk there, and the magazine selection was out of date. Throw in Emily Gilmore and its would be virtually Lorelai proof

"Okay, maybe I do, and maybe it's really weird for Lorelai Gilmore to be in the library. Yes. But seriously. This place? Totally cool! Not your typical library. Did you know one of the books can bite? Pretty neat. Biting books. I've seen it all, I say. There was something about... llamas or something too. I have no idea. I don't read." Leaving out crucial information about that other book with the dildoes that Jo had been showing her...
Like the ban against talking stopped her anyway.
