((Not sure if anyone remembers me - I joined last winter, apped a few characters, and then went on a hiatus at the beginning of the summer that was supposed to be a couple of weeks and turned into three months. Anyway, I'm back, and looking forward to getting back into the crack that is HH.

I'll continue with Digger and Nealan of Queenscove, and hope to finish up Momiji Sohma's sorting. However, I'm going to have to drop a couple, for the time being, at least - as such, Malingo and Niki/Jessica Sanders have been popcorned.

Hope to see you all around!))

Sorry. I'm a bit swamped with school at the moment; I'm sure no one really wants to hear my tale of Angsty Teenaged Woe, so I'll leave it at that. I'm going on hiatus for a couple of weeks to deal with finals and big projects and all that other good stuff that goes with the end of the school year. I should be back sometime around June 1.

I'm expecially sorry to start the thread with Malingo and then dissappear. I'll try to tag back on that one in the mean time, and hopefully finish Momiji's app, but I won't be starting anything else new.

For the other three:

Digger is, once again, holed up in her room with a book she thinks might lead somewhere.

Neal is... around. Somewhere. I assume.

Ditto for Niki/Jessica.

Malingo had be out here several times in the last few days, scouting out the best place to speak the glyph. He'd finally chosen a low rise at the edge of the lake, slightly obscured from the view of the castle by a small stand of trees. He'd invited a few people, and if someone else showed up, they'd be welcome to watch, but if there was too big a crowd, the geshrat wasn't sure he wouldn't just freeze up. So he'd chosen a place that was, hopefully, more or less out of the way. Now, he was out there, and he was sure he'd made a good choice. It was a good launching spot - a little late in the day, now that he thought of it (there would be little in the way of thermals), but then, the last time he'd spoken one, it had been on Ninnyhammer, where it was always Ten at night.

Now all he had to do was hope the people he had invited could find him out there.

(Semi-open RP. If your pup's likely to be wandering in that direction, feel free to let them drop in.)

Hogwarts was great, as far as back-from-the-dead scenarios went. The classes were sparse but interesting, the food was good, and people were adequately prepared for the threat of evil-clowns. Hogwarts was so great, in fact, that it had taken Steph nearly two months to realize her social circle was pretty much composed of old(er!) male vigilantes. It was kind of like hanging out with your uncles, and no one else. The uncles were undoubtedly cool, but still! A gal needed variety.

This was unacceptable. Steph was likeable, dagnabbit! But meeting people was kind of hard. It wasn’t as if she could put up sign, wait around with cookies, and see who was interested.

Hm. Actually, that wasn’t the worst idea she’d ever had. Who didn’t like cookies? Or things written on posterboard?

Steph walked into the great hall, tacked up a sign, and put out cookies and punch (House elves were all kinds of awesome).

*Matthew has decided he needs to calm down, and has come to the conclusion that staring up at the night sky is a very good way to do so. To this end, he is currently lying on his back on the roof of the Astronomy Tower, watching the stars and wondering if someone he once knew is looking back at him.*

((OOC: Anyone who might happen by the Astronomy Tower late at night could find Matthew up here.))

Ten o'clock had kind of... snuck up on him.

Malingo had, so far, avoided dealing with this particular hour by being safely in bed, asleep, long before ten. It had worked fairly well, too - the geshrat loved the morning, didn't want to miss a minute of it, so he was perfectly fine with going to bed early. If he was sleeping, he didn't have to think about the fact that it was the same time here as it was on Ninnyhammer.

Only, tonight, he wasn't sleeping. He'd found extremely old copies of several volumes of Lumeric's Six in the library - no one had checked them out for years - and he'd been reviewing the incantations for a glyph. Curled up with one of them on an overstuffed couch, Malingo had completely lost track of time. Before he knew it, it was ten-oh-two. He let the book slide to the floor, drew his knees to his chest, and tried to blink back tears that were quickly blurring his vision.

Maybe it was best to try and wait it out. The only alternative he could think of was to find someone willing to give him sleeping pills, after all. And if he could get through this hour, he thought, he could get through anything.

((Right. Feel free to drop by with any character who might notice a geshrat having a hard time, late at night, in the Hufflepuff common room.))

Stephanie Brown had a lot of reasons to be happy. She was alive, not-a-zombie, and apparently imbued with latent magical abilities. However, at this very moment, her happiness was primarily due to the fact that she was standing hundreds of feet above ground level, Spoiler costume on, with a new grappling hook in hand. Batkids were weird that way.

Steph a deep breath, and dived off of the edge the Owlery. She released her hook (admittedly waiting a few feet longer than would usually be safe, due to the lovely ‘no-kill’ spell in place), landed on top of a gargoyle, and sighed contently.

"Still got it."

((Open RP- If you’ve got a character likely to hang out on rooftops, come say hi!))

Malingo hesitantly enters the sorting room, as if he's not entirly sure he's supposed to be there. He picks up an application and reads it, then starts to fill it out, chewing the end of his pencil as he thinks about each question.

"I have read the [community profile] hogwarts_hocus faq, and understand it is a crazy, cracktastic sorting community and RPG.  Malingo
I have read the [community profile] hogwarts_hocus rules and agree to abide by each and every one of them. Malingo
I agree to be a good sport and not get my knickers in a bunch. Malingo.
One day, marmalade will rule the world. Malingo"
