Lily,
Took a little trip to London over the weekend.Hope these are okay, just a little way of saying thanks for helping JD out with the dinner. Also can I ask you a question about the patronus charm from that class. Didn't want to ask it then, well didn't want JD to get in a mess about me wanting to know. And you'll be glad to hear no memory charms I'm not even considering them anymore.
~Jack.
Along with the note is a collection, well a small stack of books.
((Spoilers.))

Date: 2006-11-28 09:55 pm (UTC)Writing quickly, Lily said, "Right. I need to know a few things, love, before I get started. The first being how long you've been...invincible." The word sounded odd, unreal, and Lily looked up at Jack for a second before returning to her writing. "And the second is what, exactly, your memory was for the Patronus."

He really wasn't quite sure how to explain, if he could. He'd never done it before so he didn't know how it should even have felt when doing that.

Date: 2006-11-29 05:17 pm (UTC)That meant it was biological. That meant there was a reason. And that meant that, possibly, Jack could hold a cure to a lot of different things. Lily's thoughts were, of course, on Ben, on Cox's desperate attempt to find a solution for his friend's disease. There was a reason she hadn't gone immediately to Perry with what Jack had told her - not that she didn't think he could keep it secret, but because she didn't want to build up false hope until she knew something for certain.
"Right," she murmured, finishing her notes and putting the chart aside. "I'm going to draw some blood. Now, while I do so, tell me about what happens when you're, er, injured. Do you heal up instantly or is there a recovery time?" Picking up a needle, Lily expertly slid it into Jack's arm and began to draw a vial of blood.

Date: 2006-11-29 07:05 pm (UTC)"I said some stupid things, had a pointless arguement. I asked her if she wanted to shoot me again. Said she didn't need to. Pulled out a knife." Jack frowned and shook his head, he had to explain a lot more because he didn't need someone else thinking that Suzie was some sort of psycho, not like JD. Suzie wasn't like that. "I don't think she knew quite what she was doing and I wasn't helping with provoking her at all." Jack sighed, before he continued. "I could feel it. I could feel the blade. I felt it come out as I fell. It's hard to describe, couldn't have been more than a minutes, two. Coughing, breathing again. The pain was worse, then just went..." He hoped that helped her understand something.

Date: 2006-11-30 06:04 pm (UTC)No change flickered across her face from her carefully set expression of neutral concern, but Jack's story about Suzie was...disturbing. Still, it was his life, and she'd not a doubt that in many things Jack was more than able to take care of himself. Instead of responding to that, Lily simply put the vials down and healed the needle puncture with a soft tap of her wand. Sitting back, she regarded him a moment.
"I...I've got to admit, love, I'm baffled. If you felt no pain at all, didn't bleed or healed instantly, then I'd think perhaps it was some sort of invulnerability charm. But all indications is that it's a biological change in your body. Some sort of accelerated healing..." She paused and shook her head. "I'll run some tests, do some research. In the meantime, don't go about letting people stab you, yeah?" Lily's tone was light, but her eyes searched Jack's, concerned. "If we don't know what it is that's letting you do this, we don't know if it'll stop."
Everything Jack had said was jotted down in her notes on the (unmarked) chart. Then, setting all that aside, she stood up. "Right, going to take some vitals and then you can get dressed again." The exam was quick - just a few spells cast, Lily's fingers pressing lightly to his pulse point, and a quick image capture of his internal organs. Once that was finished, Lily gave Jack a smile and gathered up her things.
"All right, love, if you don't mind, once you've gotten out of that fetching gown," Lily grinned, "perhaps you'll cast your Patronus again? I want to take a closer look." That was the most puzzling thing for Lily. The body could do strange things, and Merlin knew the whole 'travel through space and time' bit that Jack had might have done any number of things to him physically, but a golden Patronus... That was baffling.
((Ah! I'm so sorry, for some reason I thought I'd done this reply already. *is a loser* Also, er, what would you like Lily to find out about all this? Anything? Or just continue to be baffled? I'm open to anything you like! XD))
