The following is posted outside the Great Hall and in the common room of each House.
(( OOC: The fine print.
I'd like you to choose your own groups of three or four OOCly -- you can arrange that in the comments to this post, or elsewhere -- but please let me know what you've decided. This way, I can claim that the pairs were ICly assigned, which gives you the option of choosing partners that your character ICly doesn't know or even hates. Those characters whose players haven't let me know about a group placement by the day class is to be held will be assigned a group by Terry-mun and myself. I'll maintain a roster here for easy consultation.
I'll start posting stuff for the class at 8 pm Eastern Daylight Time of the night specified, but of course the RP can continue well into the following day(s) -- Stephen isn't going to interpret realtime as identical with gametime, so don't worry that you're going to get docked points or kicked out if you're not at the keyboard when I am.
The only way your char will be interpreted as having skipped class is if you tell me OOC that you want that. Otherwise, you can retroactively send Stephen or Terry an illness excuse or something of the sort. Ditto for interpretations of "leaving class early"; unless you tell me otherwise OOC, once your char shows up, they're interpreted as being there for the duration, since obviously Stephen isn't the sort to let people flit in and out of the room whenever they like.
A final note: Stephen is not inclined to hold personal 'detentions'. Characters who have genuine difficulty making their potion -- which will be a relatively foolproof one -- will be asked to serve a 'detention' with him that is in reality another chance for them to try to make the potion. Characters who are acting up or causing mischief in a way Stephen sees IC as being on purpose will be notified to serve a detention with Teatime, who is the caretaker currently handling detentions. I don't want to send anyone's char to Teatime without OOC consent and ideally advance planning, so I wanted to make that clear. However, you are welcome to plan "accidental" mishaps insofar as the fairly foolproof potions assignment permits, or if your character is known to have some handicap that Stephen can't fault them for -- e.g., Real!Ron wasn't held accountable for the misdeeds of Puppet!Ron.
Also. If you're signing up because you think it would be out of character for your char to pass up the class, but in reality you don't have the time/inclination to RP it out, please do go ahead and state that when you sign up! That way you won't let down a potential partner.
Enough said? Any questions, feel free to bug me. ))
Potions class will be held the evening of 9 October (Monday, a week from today). Those interested in taking Potions should sign up here. List your full name -- with the personal name, in Western order, preceding the surname -- as well as your House affiliation. If you have no surname, supply the name of your place of origin, and that will be used as your surname.
Questions should be directed to Mr McGinnis, the new teaching assistant for this course. Dr Maturin may be consulted in his office in the event that Mr McGinnis cannot answer your questions.
S. Maturin, potions master
T. McGinnis, potions assistant

Date: 2006-10-03 05:49 am (UTC)Screened again for Red and Ginger
Date: 2006-10-03 05:54 am (UTC)I can last quite a while, myself, Ginger. (Remember the 'wand safety' tips I was telling you about? Let's just say that it's sometimes more fun to not follow them. :p)
Re: Screened again for Red and Ginger
Date: 2006-10-03 05:58 am (UTC)What, exactly, did you tell Fido?
Re: Screened again for Red and Ginger
Date: 2006-10-03 06:00 am (UTC)About what? My opinions on breakfast teas being served after noon? Well, not as much as I would have liked to, but that diatribe is best left for the strong of stomach.
Re: Screened again for Red and Ginger
Date: 2006-10-03 06:01 am (UTC)You told him about Chelsea and Angela?
Re: Screened again for Red and Ginger
Date: 2006-10-03 06:06 am (UTC)Ginger, no! I'd never tell him about Chelsea and Angela. I may have let slip that you watch soaps, but that was only because he was helping me put the channels on your telly. You know - the telly I got you. 9_9
(Seriously, you're not going to try and withhold shagging, are you?)
Re: Screened again for Red and Ginger
Date: 2006-10-03 06:12 am (UTC)Oh, don't even try to guilt trip me. You ratted me out, you traitor. Not that I'm ashamed, mind, but a man's stories are his own business!
(Seriously? Of course not. I'm not going to punish myself.)
Re: Screened again for Red and Ginger
Date: 2006-10-03 06:19 am (UTC)Damn, guilt trip not working, eh? Oh, come on. It's cute! I think you're very sexy when you watch your stories. (Flattery, then?)
(Good. Though that's a very selfish reason.)
Re: Screened again for Red and Ginger
Date: 2006-10-03 06:29 pm (UTC)(Hi there, I'm Perry Cox, have we met?)
Re: Screened again for Red and Ginger
Date: 2006-10-03 07:15 pm (UTC)(Hilarious, you are. But, since you are most assuredly not selfish in all areas, I'll just count my blessings and all that.)
Re: Screened again for Red and Ginger
Date: 2006-10-03 07:27 pm (UTC)(I'm not? Cool. ;D)
Re: Screened again for Red and Ginger
Date: 2006-10-03 07:30 pm (UTC)(What, did you think I was faking? :D)
Re: Screened again for Red and Ginger
Date: 2006-10-03 07:31 pm (UTC)(No, but I did think I was a selfish jackass. :D)
Re: Screened again for Red and Ginger
Date: 2006-10-03 07:56 pm (UTC)So, seriously, ten minutes? Or did you need to primp first? :P
(Well, you can be a bit of an arse, but really, who isn't sometimes? But, no, not a selfish jackass. ;) )
Re: Screened again for Red and Ginger
Date: 2006-10-03 08:14 pm (UTC)(Good to know ;D (OH GOD I CAN'T STOP))
Re: Screened again for Red and Ginger
Date: 2006-10-03 08:28 pm (UTC)(Well, I'm always happy to tell you you're being an arse. :p (HA! SEE, THEY ARE BRILLIANT!))
Re: Screened again for Red and Ginger
Date: 2006-10-04 03:30 am (UTC)(Yeah, I noticed that. >:P (STOP ME. I SWEAR TO GOD.))
Re: Screened again for Red and Ginger
Date: 2006-10-04 05:27 am (UTC)(One of my many responsibilities as your girlfriend. (NOPE. But look at this one I learned: (.)(.) Guess what those are? ;p))
Re: Screened again for Red and Ginger
Date: 2006-10-04 05:35 am (UTC)(What are the others? (Oh, that is just not appropriate! Who corrupted your mind like that? Was it Fido?))
Re: Screened again for Red and Ginger
Date: 2006-10-04 07:04 am (UTC)'Man Beautifying'?
(Providing a buffer between you and people who annoy you, laughing at your jokes, telling you how sexy you look (have I done that today?), watching your shows on the telly, and attempting to prevent you from doing anything too stupid. Oh, and the shagging thing - but I consider that more of a perk. (My mate Ryuuji taught me a bunch! (http://community.livejournal.com/hogwarts_hocus/918921.html?thread=45349001#t45349001) And since when am I appropriate? (o)(o) ) (Those are perfect breasts. You may feel free to make all the correlations you like. :p))
Re: Screened again for Red and Ginger
Date: 2006-10-04 07:23 am (UTC)(Fair enough. And yes, but you can do it again, I don't mind. (The Japanese guy? Jesus, no wonder... What the hell is he doing putting your breasts on a computer screen? :( ))
Re: Screened again for Red and Ginger
Date: 2006-10-04 07:46 am (UTC)(All right - you look incredibly sexy today. (Aww! That was very nice, Ginger! Just for that, I'm going to show you another: (p)(p) <~~ Hanging tassel breasts.)
