((backdated to somepoint shortly after JD moved in.))
Jack hadn't been tempted to build a fort out of the left over boxes and things from round the room while JD was out. Nope. He'd picked though the ones he'd thought looked promising and finished off the last of the cheesecake. Then he'd fallen asleep with a book from the library learning charms. Now he was awake and poking through the books on the shelf he was just waiting for JD to get back to pounce, he had a reason this time, not that he needed one usuallyl. He was planning on sending a note to Lily, saying thanks.

From:Package for Lily
Date: 2006-08-29 12:45 am (UTC)Thanks a lot for helping us move in the other day. Thanks, it gave us more time to get the room sorted out. Enjoy your present!
From Jack & JD.
Along with that there were the following presents: a bunch of yellow roses with a card that said it was from JD & Jack (p.54); chocolates, wine and of course the book p54 was referring to.

Date: 2006-08-29 01:50 am (UTC)That being said, a large owl carrying a bag of presents landing on her side was met with a low growl of irritation. "Oi," she mumbled, waving her hand to dislodge the bird. "Get off, you. Go bother someone else." However, the owl was quite determined. Lily yelped and sat up as the bird nipped sharply at her finger. Glaring at it, she took the bag and handed it to Perry, then took the note. "All right. Fine. You've done you duty, you rotten bird. Off with you, then." Ruffling its feathers, the bird turned and flew out the window.
Scowling, Lily sucked on her wounded finger while she opened the note. Reading it, she grinned. "'S from Jack and JD," she told Cox. "I helped them move. How sweet!" She turned to look at him. "What'd they send?"

Date: 2006-08-29 02:16 am (UTC)Muttering darkly, he sat up, only to have thrust into his hands the package, which he promptly held up at the owl as if to throw it at the poor creature. The owl, wisely, left the scene, leaving them with one wounded finger, one bag of gifts, and one irritated doctor.
"Francine and her boyfriend sent you a gift?" Cox snorted. "Lemme guess -- I'm... seeing nail polish and lotion in your future. Oh, oh, there might even be one of those super-empowered books by girls for girls about how to get your man to..." He trailed off as he actually opened the bag and peered inside, mildly surprised by the contents. "Huh."

Date: 2006-08-29 02:58 am (UTC)She next found the chocolates and paused in her exploration to grin happily and pull the top off of the box. Taking a bite of a chocolate-covered cherry, she rolled her eyes back in ecstasy. "Merlin, these are good," she said, finishing the treat. Picking up another - she thought it looked like a cream - she held it out to Cox with a a broad smile. "Have one, love?"

Date: 2006-08-29 03:05 am (UTC)"Oh, and... don't drink the wine, either," he added, pulling out the bottle and eyeing it with deep suspicion. "Maybe I can send it along to the Doc for testing, I dunno..."

Date: 2006-08-29 03:15 am (UTC)Then something he said caught up with her, and she turned to study him with interest. "A girl..." mused Lily, eyes giving him a once over. "Now that would be fun." Her gaze falling to the chocolates she studied them with renewed interest, her expression faintly hopeful. "Do you think, maybe?"

Date: 2006-08-29 04:40 am (UTC)Moving the bag out of his hands, she tangled her hand in his hair and met his lips in a deep, slow kiss. When she pulled back, a little breathless, she murmured against his mouth, "Very, very attracted. So stop worrying about the chocolates, yeah?"
Leaning against the headboard, she pulled the bag back towards her. "Remember I told you (http://community.livejournal.com/hogwarts_hocus/834718.html?thread=41384862#t41384862) that I'd, er, 'experimented' in school?" she explained absently, rummaging through the bag and coming up with a book. Excellent! This must be JD's influence - somehow she couldn't see Jack sending her a book. "Well, I wasn't kidding, Ginger. But no worries - was just an idea for a bit of fun..."
She'd flipped open the book, wondering if it was something on Healing Magic or the like when her gaze fell on a picture. Her brow creasing slightly in confusion, she turned the book, trying to figure out what the image was showing. Then... "Fucking Merlin's balls," she interrupted herself, mouth dropping open. "How is that even possible?" Turning her attention to the next page, Lily instantly blushed bright red all over. Apparently, the pictures came with detailed instructions. Transfixed, she just stared dumbly at them, some portion of her brain filing the information away.

Date: 2006-08-29 05:53 am (UTC)Still, his wariness was mollified at least a little by her kissing him, and he relaxed slightly, though he still glared at the wine bottle as if it were going to come alive and eat him. Sitting against the headboard with her, he looped an arm around her shoulders, squinting down into the bag -- until she said that, and then he looked back up, eyes widening slightly. "...that's... an interesting idea for a bit of fun, Red," he replied, but his tone was less dismissive than he'd have liked. Wanting to experiment was different than wanting him to actually be a woman... it was worth thinking about, maybe...
He looked back down as she took out the book, and... "What in the..." He tipped his head to the side and blinked. "...Oh. Huh."

Date: 2006-08-29 06:36 am (UTC)the bollocksa reason to send her tainted chocolates. If it had been from Sirius she'd have tested everything before even touching it. But JD and Jack were, in her mind, the equivalent of two first years. Maybe not a fair assessment, but how she felt. Therefore, she had no worries about eating the chocolate. Now completely absorbed in the book, Lily made a small noise of agreement at Cox's assesment - the whole thing was rather 'Huh' - and turned the page. She'd come back to the 'experimenting as a girl' thing later. Right now she was trying to figure out exactly what that was in the newest picture and how it was possible to get your legs in that position. "Is...do you think that hurt?" she wondered.
Flipping through some of the other pictures - Merlin's arse, how did one walk after that? - Lily's foot kicked against the bouquet of flowers. Glancing down she saw...another note. Sliding the book into Cox's lap for a moment, she reached down and plucked the piece of parchment out of the flowers. Settling back down against his arm, sliding closer to him, she read it. Right, she knew this was from JD and Jack, but what in bloody hell did 'p.54' mean?

Date: 2006-08-30 01:07 am (UTC)Shrugging, he reached past her and grabbed a piece of candy, popping it into his mouth as he looked back down at The Book. Some of the illustrations required squinting, or upside-down viewing, or the ability to think in four dimensions, and they were all certainly very creative. He took it as it was passed off to him and twisted it around, peering at it in astonishment. "I... want to ask why Newbie would have something like this," he said slowly, "but then I realize I really... don't want to know that at all."
Tightening his arm around her, he looked at the note over her shoulder. "What's on page 54?" He flipped to the page in question, and promptly held the book out at arm's length, eyes widening. He looked from the page, to the roses, and back again. "...Oh."

Date: 2006-08-30 01:30 am (UTC)"Oh," she breathed, as it finally sunk in. She too glanced at the roses, then The Book, and then up at Perry. "Oh."
For a second she just sat there, then Lily started to laugh. "Bloody hell, why would they..." Shoulders shaking as she bit her lip to keep back the giggles. Turning, burying her face in his shoulder for a moment, Lily cracked up. "The poor flowers!" she managed, her voice muffled both by the laughter and her position.
