Hi Carrie,

I've never really written letters before, and this whole parchment and quill thing is definitely going to take some getting used to, so please excuse any blotches.

I was wondering if you'd mind getting together over breakfast sometime? I don't know many people here, and you were very nice at my Sorting. The Narrator likes you too, and he and I don't agree on very much; if you could kind of explain to us me a little bit about how this place works, I'd really appreciate it.

Dear Carrie,

That would be great. I tend to get up early to work out, so I'll meet you in the Great Hall once I'm through. I have a feeling I'll get a handle on things a lot quicker and easier if I'm following someone who knows the ropes--even if you've just learned them yourself.
