Shipping revisited!

Since it's been a couple of months, a lot has changed, and we have a lot of new people... time to revisit our list of ships!

In April, we came up with names for h_h ships -- the confirmed and the unlikely.

Some examples of ships developed since then:

Gin/Stephen: Duckshipping (credit: perpetual_smile)
Homsar/Sirius: HMS Jenga Lube (credit: toujours_sirius)

And then we discussed whether our characters were shippers and which ships they preferred.

Nowadays, my own characters are shipping differently than before. Stephen used to be a die-hard Ryuuji/Nightwing shipper. Now he ships Ryuuji/Terry.

Help us identify and name ships, and tell us which ones your characters like! New names for old ships are also welcome!

The Luggage doesn't ship anyone. Simply does not care about that stuff.

Hideki doesn't ship anyone here at h_h, but only because he's not met anyone and spent time with them. If he got around more, it could be interesting, since he put people together in canon.

Mokuba used to ship Ryuuji/Seto, then he thought Ryuuji/Mai would be a good solution for Ryuuji's problems with dating guys, but that got dashed. Now he just wants Ryuuji to be with anyone that makes him happy and doesn't take off on him for space. He's bordering on anti-Ryuuji/Terry and anti-Ryuuji/Nightwing, for the sole reason they upset Ryuuji. He's biased like that. He's also slightly anti-Kira/Seto, because Kira smokes. And secretly ships Sora/Riku, because he remembers how close they were at their sortings.

Seto is slightly anti-Hideki/Chii, because he feels Hideki is too computer-illiterate, and doesn't deserve something as special as Chii, but he just stays out of it. For the most part, he doesn't care about other people's lives, therefore doesn't ship them or concern himself with who they are with.

But then there's Ryuuji....

Due to the fact he's certain he's biased where Ryuuji is concerned, Seto decided he would do nothing more than support Ryuuji/ANYONE THAT MAKES HIM HAPPY. Which means not Terry or Nightwing, obviously, from his point of view.

Currently, he thinks Ryuuji/Seto's credit card/Mai/shopping spree = true love. Or Ryuuji/therapy always works.

And for someone shipping Ryuuji/therapy, he did a great job of talking Ryuuji out of going for therapy. ^_~

But Mokie's adorable. He and Eiko are totally a great couple in Ryuuji's mind.

Part I

Shipwise, Ryuuji still ships Mokuba/Eiko, and if Victor hadn't said that he's not interested in guys, it would probably be Victor/Seto for the robotic boy factor. Kira/Seto, he's a little uneasy about because he doesn't want Seto getting attached when Kira's already in love with someone else (plus, well, overprotective big brother by this point) but he does like Kira and want him to be happy, so if Alexiel was here, he'd ship that, or maybe Kira/Setsuna. He's not aware of Kira/Methos, as of yet.

Stephen and River are still a great couple in his mind, especially since they're both his friends. Nny/Teatime also are fine with him, thanks to his mistaken assumption from before that's now truth. Psyche, Ryuuji thinks would be better off with Hermes or Ares or DEATH or anyone except the airhead love god, but like hell is he going to say that.

As regards Tim/Jason, he's not sure if he ships it or not because on one hand, he likes Jason and can empathize with him. On the other hand, Jason's sounding borderline abusive and dangerously frustrated with his own feelings to Ryuuji, so Ryuuji's kinda worried for Tim. Plus, Ryuuji likes Kon, and thinks that it's a shame that the nice guys get passed over in favor of the bitter, wounded ones, even though he knows damn well that he counts in the wounded category. Ryuuji's considered Kon/Jason, just for the brainbreaking value, but in the end, I think he's shipping Jason/hugs, Kon/hugs and Tim/HUGS. Because damn, those boys need them.

Nightwing-wise, he's very much in favor of Nightwing/Babs. Or, well, he was. He used to be more in favor of them, then Nightwing started talking about how this isn't his Babs, and how he feels like just a stand-in and how it isn't the same. So now Ryuuji's not totally sure about that either, because he really does care about Nightwing and want the best for him, and giving Nightwing a - according to Nightwing, anyway - 'fake' Babs isn't necessarily what's best for him. He asked the school anonymously about arrows of indifference to stop Nightwing wanting people he can't have, but Psyche squelched that idea efficiently.

Adam, he anti-ships with Damien. Because dude, he'd love to see Adam lay the smackdown on Damien, seriously. Crowley gets shipped hard with Aziraphale, even though he and Crowley are still on slightly uneasy footing. Ryuuji would like to make up, though.

Lupin/Tonks, Ryuuji has nothing against them, quite likes Lupin for giving him chocolates but is worried by the frog dedication. Thankfully, Lupin cleared it up while Ryuuji was drunk, but since Ryuuji was drunk, it's unclear as to whether he'll remember it the next morning. *kinda likes the idea of Ryuuji suspecting Lupin of secret plans to dissect Stephen*

Wolfram/Yuuri is fine with him, if it keeps Wolfram away from Terry. Though he'd prefer Wolfram with someone that can gag him if Wolfram keeps getting all loud and excitable around Ryuuji because dude, eardrums. Wolfram needs to stop breaking them.

He also dutifully semi-ships Alucard/Joachim, more because he thinks he should support Alucard's love interests than through any real desire to see them together. And maybe because the idea of two vampires is kind of hot.

Part II

Apart from that, he's toyed with thoughts of Mai/Seto, just because she's one girl that he'd trust to take care of Seto right and be able to read his moods, but he's pretty sure that Mai wouldn't really go for the idea of having been together with Ryuuji and then moving on to his half-brother. He thinks she'd snark about him having enough pseudo-incest in his life without dragging her into it.

On the official ship list of YGO pairings, Ryuuji/Mai = flippantshipping, Mai/Seto = diamondshipping, Ryuuji/Seto = mastershipping and Seto/Mokuba = tabloidshipping, so if anyone is shipping any of those, they've already got names that the fandom refers to them by. And Nightwing-mun and I agreed months ago that Ryuuji/Nightwing is either hugshipping, subtextshipping (clearly, no longer applicable), comfortshipping or codependenceshipping.

Ryuuji also ships Ron/Oz's owl. Because Ron's really kinda annoying and maybe getting bitten a lot would cure that. And Paul/Irulan because if Paul was paying attention to his lawfully wedded wife whom Ryuuji knows he isn't interested in then maybe he'd not be interested in Terry, at least.

OH! And Ryuuji would totally ship Oz/Adam, even though it's unlikely to ever happen. Just because the idea sounds cool to him. Laidback and fun, both of them, what's not to like?

...And if he and Terry couldn't be together, he'd probably ship Terry/Mai. Because they interact well and there'd be no raging jealousy issues at least. Though Mai/Mystique sounds good to him as well, but would sound better if Mystique wasn't a redhead.

And Bruce/Ron would totally be an OTP for Ryuuji if it had any chance of happening. Get them both out of the way, hopefully, and stick two people he mildly dislikes together so that they can't make anyone else unhappy.

...And phew, I think that's it for the list of ships Ryuuji has. Man. Ireallydon'twanttohavetodothisformyothercharsnow.

Oz doesn't really pry much into Ryuuji's life so he doesn't know the specifics, but he supports whatever makes his friend happy. He's sorta seeing Ryuuji in panic mode right now, so I don't think he's a huge fan of Ryuuji/Terry. I think if forced to choose he'd support Ryuuji/Ryuuji, in an "I choose me, I'm going to realize I'm great as I am and that I don't need anyone's approval" sorta way.

When Ryuuji suffers? Oz suffers. Mostly because he provides himself as the person Ryuuji can focus his pent-up energy on. Actually, he often finds the results funny. But then he becomes the size of a pen, and that's sad.

He would also support Ron/I am the Walrus Raptorbait Caitlin Aubrey, because that bird? Needs to get laid.

He also thinks that Lupin/Tonks is a cute couple, since he likes both of them. The age difference doesn't bother him at all.

Oz has problems with Grant, but he doesn't really think he's a bad person, so he wouldn't mind Grant/Laura. He think he might be a calming influence on her dramatic character. And if he's happy, he'd be less likely to be grouchy.

Ron, despite his protests about them rooming together, is a strong and steady Ginny/Harry shipper. Harry is the best guy in the world, so why shouldn't he be the one dating his sister? But the references to them shagging rather than snogging give him a terrible feeling that he's not being a very good brother for not at least trying to keep them off each other, and he does sometimes get a bit jealous about no longer being Harry's favorite Weasley. That's probably why he's fallen headlong into

Ron/Primavera. Earlier Ron strongly supported this pairing, but now he's not as sure. Still, if she provides a good enough excuse for coming across as really, really creepy to everyone but him, he'd probably run with it. But they're both using the other, though I suspect Ron does care about Primavera's happiness, so I'm not sure how much longer it will last. In the meantime, Ron will be looking for Guy.

Lily/James. Strong supporter, obviously, but not of the Lily/James in this school. He is terrified of James meeting a girl and falling in love and trying to marry her, thus making Harry cease to exist, or giving Harry a brother or something. Even if it was this version of Lily, he'd be worried. I don't think he really gets how little James' flirtations mean, so James is probably going to wish that Ron still thinks that he's a fake.

*Is picturing Ron following James on dates, and then spraying the poor couple with water*

Primavera/Gogo. Ron thinks it's hot.

Hermione/Ed. Ron doesn't know who Ed is, but he thinks he's a very, very bad man and that Hermione should stay away from him.

Wolfram actually supports Ryuuji/Terry. He finds Terry annoying and think Ryuuji (who he's a bit terrified of, btw), could keep him in line. But he also views Terry (in his own way) as a friend, and he thinks that Ryuuji makes him happy. Though the idea of cutting Yuuri's neck and licking his blood is really creeping Wolfram out. He hopes that's not how humans do it!

And, of course, he's a huge supporter of Wolfram/Yuuri. He already sees Yuuri as his best friend, and he honestly cares a great deal for him. Whether his jealousy is actually from love or a childish possessiveness, we'll have to wait and see.

Oz is such a sweetheart. Though, hey, this is the first time that Ryuuji focused his energies on Oz! Last time, it was Nightwing who got stuck dealing with him. And then ended up married to him. I think that getting shrunk a little is definitely the lesser of two evils.

And pocket-sized Oz is CUTE, really!

...Also, Wolfram is terrified of Ryuuji? O_O Ryuuji really wasn't THAT scary, was he?! It was just a tiny little wound. >_>

OK, sooo... here are what my chars ship.

Stephen:
He seriously ships Ryuuji/Terry, Ginny/Harry, and Lupin/Tonks.
He sorta ships Byakuya/Gin and Cox/JD.

Cooper:
He ships himself/Sara/Sirius, or himself/Sara. He still ships Ron/puppet!Ron (does he know the puppet is no more? I don't think he knows.)
And he sorta ships Sirius/Homsar, even though he doesn't understand it. Also, he ships Lupin/Grant because he thinks they deserve each other. And Wesley/Butlertron (sniffle. And he doesn't know Wesley is popcorn.)

Paul Atreides:
Was a Ryuuji/Terry shipper and still believes that the future holds togetherness for the pair, but now isn't so sure it's the ideal future.

Morfin:
Morfin doesn't believe in shipping! He wants everyone to be self-actualized and happy, but he doesn't want to think about all that kissy stuff.

Primavera:
She ships Gogo/Nny. She also sorta ships Wolfram/Yuuri.

Strong Bad:
Bah! Strong Bad cares not for your puny excuse for a relationship!
He does have sort of ambiguous feelings about Senor Cardgage, but that's more of a hero-worship thing than anything remotely romantic.
If he were going to ship anyone, it would be Roxy/Wolfram.

Sirius's main ships would be the ones he is or was involved in: Remus/Sirius, Sirius/Cooper, Sirius/Homsar, and Sirius/Jim Morrison. He's had a bit of a dalliance with Madam Rosmerta as well, so he ships himself with her, too. He also likes the idea of Sirius/Sara, Sirius/Sara/Cooper, Remus/Tonks/Sara/Sirius, Sirius/Dieter, and possibly Sirius/Cox, although the lattermost is more of a friendly harassment thing than an actual ship right now.

As for other couples, his main ships would be Remus/Tonks and James/Lily. And he very much supports Harry/Ginny, of course!

And how could I forget Crowley's handful o' hellfire/Mrs. Black's portrait!

Sirius's true soulmate, of course, is James.

Homsar...does not understand the concept of ships. But if I had to pick a one true love for him, it would be Strong Sad. Or Jenga.
