Attention everyone!

Remember the night out planned? It's tonight!

We'll meet at the front gates of Hogwarts at 6PM this time, and leave by 6:15. If you can't make it then, we're leaving maps that you can pick up and use to follow us, or if you don't want to go drinking and just want to go clubbing, then we'll be back in three hours.

Hoping to see you all there!

Fifteen minutes early for a change, discarding his usual approach of being fashionably late, Ryuuji waited by the gates as planned, hands stuffed in the pockets of his leather jacket and hair twisted into a bun held back by jade chopsticks. He hadn't made any other change to his usual attire, though the bag over his back did hold a pair of leather trousers for Nightwing, and an electric blue eyeliner pencil. That was all he needed, really.

Now all he had to do was wait for his fellow fun-lovers to show up.

For those who were left behind, there are pieces of paper tacked to the front gates, bearing an explanation almost identical to the one that Ryuuji gave the group. The portal is still open.

"I am sure I'm glad to be here, with my fellow schoolmates," Teatime said nonchalantly, smile widening a little at the reciprocation of the greeting. "After all, I'm new here, and I need to meet people of the assorted houses." See what we're up against, the rather competitive side of him added to that. "Make friends, perhaps," he went on, "although I can't say I've ever had very many before."

Oh, I wonder why that might be. "Oh, then it's especially good to have you along," she said, doing her best to keep her tone pleasant and expression friendly. "A night out is just the way to meet people and have a good time. And a lot of the people here seem nice, there's no reason you shouldn't make friends."

"Oh, I do hope so," he replied. "I really do hope so. I've never been one for making friends - I'm not all that good at it." He allowed a pause, then continued: "Sometimes I wonder if it's the eye that's off-setting."

He knew it wasn't, knew perfectly well that it was his...odd way of thinking that had a habit of driving people away, if they weren't already dead. It wasn't that he tried to be that way, or even particularly wanted to; he'd just always been that way and never gotten around to wanting to change it. He was aware, but he failed to care about the fact. However, there was no point in bringing that up, and it was always fun to talk this way to people who didn't seem in the mood to argue. He had had many discussions like this; still, it never got old.

Door tilted her head. "Some people, maybe," she said candidly. "Some people are squeamish, or don't like to think that anyone could be injured that way, themselves included. But I shouldn't think that would be the majority, and honestly I'd think you'd be more sick of morbid curiousity-seekers. I've known more than a few people who would think it was dashing. Those who've never been in physical peril do romanticize it so. Or at least, I've found that to be the case."

"Oh, most of the curiosity-seekers take a look at me and proceed in the opposite direction," Teatime said. "Some people seem to find it weird. Frightening, even. It's really an odd reaction to a mere glass ball, isn't it? It could have been something worse."

"You must have met some rather easily discouraged curiousity-seekers. Most of the ones I've known have been attracted by 'weird'. Then again, quite a few of them found that attraction to be lethal. And, yes, of course there is always worse." Door grinned impishly. "Could have been something you don't have two of."

"Lethal. Yes, that about sums up the attraction the more persistant ones I've met have been suffering from." His smile didn't waver; it remained, more or less, a grin, which would probably have served as his poker (ow!) face, should he ever have the need for one.

I won't shudder, I won't, I've dealt with worse than him and in much uglier circumstances. "Moths and flames, really," Door said as casually as she could. "Foolishness is often deadly, and good riddance really."

Definitely spending too much time with the Marquis.

"Exactly," Teatime said, "except for the occasion when foolishness could prove to be useful. I think the world is always forgiving, if you're useful...just like I am. Reminds me of someone I worked with right before I died," he went on. "It WAS an idiot, I'm afraid, but it served as brute force for the job it was needed for."

Door took an involuntary step backward, and she was sure she'd paled visibly. "There... ha... didn't happen to be a lot of candles involved, did there?"

"Candles?" Teatime queried, looking at her, momentarily nonplussed. "Why, what ever would the idiot need candles for? There was quite sufficient light."

"N-nevermind. Just memories." She looked up. "Ah, we're going on to he pub now. Are you ready?"

"Memories," Teatime repeated, raising the eyebrow above his real eye. "Right, then, we'll leave that topic." The unspoken words were probably 'for later'. "Ah," he said, deftly jumping onto this new topic, "of course I am."
