Right then! Ladies and gents, boys and girls, devils, demons, werewolves, vampires, shinigami, bat-folks and assorted lunatics - welcome to another night of Radio WART! I'm Charlie Pace and I'm honoured to be the, uh, third DJ of our illustrious school's, uh, illustrious radio station!
Tonight's first request comes from someone with very, very good taste. Anonymous fan, if you ever feel like a drink sometime just give me an owl. It's on me!
You All (Everybody)
And if you liked that, just contact myself by owl or at Gryffindor tower for copies of our albums - DriveShaft, Oil Change, and my solo LP Pente.
And our next request comes from the vivacious Nympadora Tonks. Tonks is in Mr Oz's band with me and a few other unlikely bedfellows - look out for us in the near future! Anyway, it's dedicated to a "certain complicated man." Hope you enjoy, Mr Complicated!
Complicated Melody
One of our younger classmates, Squee, asked for the song coming up. Squee is a pretty cool name, you've got to admit. I hope you've got someone like this looking out for you, my man! You probably need it around this bloody place...
Goodnight Demonslayer
Our entrancing DJess from last night has got the musical bug! Luna Lovegood wanted to share this with us and being the wonderful person I am I thought I'd share. Enjoy!
Bin There, Done That
Lyrics
This next request is from a real charmer. Yes, okay, that was a bloody pathetic joke - it's from Psyche, who condescended to be my partner at charms. Anyway - I know you're listening, Psyche! Unless of course you were lying, and now Jane Austen will be terribly ashamed. I'm not sure why Jane Austen. She just seems the type to be ashamed by that sort of thing.
Oh! And it's dedicated for someone. Who? That would be telling. Besides, I don't entirely know.
Foolish Love
And we have an anonymous request for an anonymous person! I'm going to guess that it's for somebody, but I don't know who. If anyone does, tell me. I want to be in the loop, like the cool kids.
Ring The Bells
Lyrics
*at this point, the listener is treated to the sound of a rather heavy thumb, a smothered expletive, and some static. This lasts for several moments until Charlie's voice resumes*
I'm okay! I'm fine! It's all good - I'm just, uh, a little bit unused to all this, er, magical equipment... Anyway! Songs. Um... oh, here's a request just come in from Mr Logan Echolls. Good man, Logan! Met him at my Sorting. Very cool. Let's see if his taste in music lives up to his reputation.
The Two Sides of Monsieur Valentine
Aw, now this is nice - it's dedicated to someone who'll "know who he is". It's always nice when you know who you are. *pause* Yup, another rubbish joke. Whatever. Let's hear the tune!
Crazy Bout Ya
The famous Morfin of Hufflepuff wants us all to hear this song! Anyone who hasn't met Morfin in person - or on the secrets board - should know that he was the trailblazing premier DJ of WART Radio. Hi Morfin! Hope you enjoy your song!
Roy Orbison in Clingfilm
And now we have "an apologia to the school as a whole" from the aformentioned wonderkid Psyche. What she'd have to apologise for I've no bloody clue, but have a listen anyway!
Love Is Like A Bottle Of Gin
Lady Door is the next of our noble classmates to submit a request. I don't know Door or Broadside Electric Band, I'm afraid, so I have nothing witty or educational to say. Not that I ever say anything all that witty. I just like to think that I do. Really, listening to the song will be much more interesting. Feel free to floo in and tell me how wonderful you think I am, though.
Tam Lin
And now we have a song for Victor Someone-or-Other, from an anonymous song-sender! It's always nice when that happens. Well, I say always, but really it's only happened to me once. But that was pretty cool. Especially because the anonymous person was a DriveShaft fan. Did I mention I have DriveShaft merch up in Gryffindor Tower? Anybody who wants it, just send me an owl.
Quizas, Quizas, Quizas
Sergeant Bothari's sending this out to someone special. I'm sure they know who they are, but it's always nice to imagine it could be you, isn't it? So c'mon, folks, floo in those requests and make somebody's night! Who knows, you might make someone feel better unintentionally.
Deanna
Another mysterious song for us now! Who's it from? Who's it for? I don't think I'm cool enough to know. Do you know? Well, presumably the person who sent it does. I mean, it'd be weird if they didn't, but you never know in this place...
Superhero
Somebody - namely Agent Dale Cooper - is feeling down. This probably won't cheer him up, but hey, he's the one who wanted to hear it. As the humble DJ, I am powerless to influence these decisions.
People Ain't No Good
The man with the cool hair, Mr Nny C himself, has requested this interesting song by Boiled In Lead. "Nny C" rhymes. But he frightens me quite a bit so I'm going to shut up and play the bloody track.
Tape Decks All Over Hell
Oh, I have an announcement from Mr, uh, Gimli - the wee guy with the bear and the gargantuan axe, I think. Um... well, he was pretty garbled, but I picked up something about "hewing necks", "forbidden forest" and the word "smoosh". If anyone cares to interpret that, feel free. I think he's a bit off his rocker myself.
Speaking of being off your rocker, back to the songs! This is revenge, apparently: from Mr Yuuri - who is a bloody fantastic cook if I remember right - to Mr Wolfram, his - uh - beloved fiance. Or something like that.
Ai no Mama ni Wagamama ni Boku wa Kimi Dake o Kizutsukenai
The inspiring Luna is back again with another request. I forgot to mention, Luna, that I loved your show last night; I take off my metaphorical hat to you. Enjoy!
Kitten Is Angry
Lyrics
Another second request! We have Logan Echolls again, this time dedicating his song to River and her Dr Maturin. Aww. Isn't that sweet? I mean, assuming that they're together, or whatever. If it's just a song for a woman and her doctor - well that's plain bizarre. Not that bizarre things don't happen in this place, but I'm going to stick with the sweet hypothesis because I like it better.
This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)
This one's for Jason. Once again, I have no idea who Jason is. I should probably get out more. Course, every time I try to go out I get attacked by furniture or eaten by stairs or body-switched or something. So maybe I should just sit in my dorm with my guitar. And my DriveShaft merch. Which anyone is welcome to, by the way. Not because I want rid of it; it's just a bit pointless for me to have it, don't you think?
Oh, right. The song.
Time Is Running Out
A song for the hell of it, presumably, since this request was dropped on my lap without a single solitary clue about its origin or purpose. Kind of like an orphan. Or a giant mutant polar bear that comes out of nowhere and tries to eat you before being shot by a southern convict.
Let Me Hold It Open
No shortage of requests tonight! Y'know, I've said that word so many times it's beginning to sound a bit weird. Request. Request request request. Re-quest? Like questing? Very strange. Anyway, this next re - er, song, is from Sadako. It's not actually Sunday today, but I suppose we could all pretend.
Gloomy Sunday
Lyrics
Y'know, this is the first time I've heard some of these songs. Pretty shocking really, for someone in the music business. I suppose that's what happens when you get trapped on a desert island: you start slipping. Unless you worked as a... bare-hands fisherman. Or a tree-climber. Tree-climbing aside, Bruce, this one's for you. I hope you like it.
Disconnected
Mr Bernard Black has a song for Mr Sirius Black! There's another cool guy, that Sirius. Very friendly. I'm not sure if he's been Sorted yet; I hope so, so that he can hear his song. I wonder if anybody liked me enough to dedicate a song for me before I'd even been sorted. Probably not. Oh well.
The Pills of White Mercury"
Lyrics
And our last song of the night! This is another "he'll know who it's for" dedication; I'm not sure whether that means it's for a psychic or whether they'll figure it out with more traditional means. Let's face it, at this school it could be either.
Lovers or Friends
In the tradition of my forebears, Mr Morphin and Miss Luna, I'm opening up the floo-lines to anyone who wants to chat. Come one, come all! I won't know who you are unless you tell me - there's a un-see-through-able grate over the fireplace.
((OOC: Comment out of character if you want to be added to the DJ roster. Gin's up next - post your requests here. Have fun!))
