Prefect Candidate Duels

The tie-breaking duels for Prefect positions are still going on in the mud pit inside the quidditch pitch. Contestants are reminded that they need to roll three times per round. Some of you need to roll two, or even three more times.

EDIT: The Gryffindors have now completed Round One, and Kentarou Higashikunimaru has won the Round. He is, therefore, the first Gryffindor Prefect. For Round Two, Draco Malfoy and Nightwing will engage in hand to hand and wand to wand combat oh, how I love innuendo! in the mud (and apparently in girl's underwear - no wonder the stands are packed with spectators!) to determine the second Gryffindor Prefect. They may begin battle at any time, and have until 5:00 p.m., Central Standard Time, Saturday, January 14, 2006 to complete Round Two. The Hufflepuffs are still in Round One, and also have until 5:00 p.m., Central Standard Time, Saturday, January 14, 2006, to determine their second Prefect.

Staff Appointment

Bernard Ludwig Black has been appointed by the Board of Governors to the position of Librarian. He may be addressed as Professor Black henceforth.. He will have care of the library and all books in it. He further may give and take house points and may give students detentions.

Cryptic Note to Prefects and Staff Members Intended to Produce Paranoia throughout the Community:

Would all Prefects and Staff Members please add ugly_old_hat to your friends list, so that you may be owled Special Super Sekret Announcements.

Uuuh...What should I do, uh, Ugly Old hat?

I mean, I (accidentally...I was under a spell, right) hunted for you, cooked for the House Elves, cleaned, uh, turned Barney on, talked to a duck, helped a friend.

Can I please make another batch of mushroom tea? yeaaaaaah....mushrooms.

Yes, you are Mr. Pye! You are doing a wonderful job! You might want to keep the pits full of fresh mud while the duels are going on, but by all means make yourself another nice pot of mushroom tea and keep on greeting the students. Just don't let Barney near the tea, as it might not fit in with his recovery plan.

And do add the hat to your friends list, please!

Yes, chammomile is fine for him, I believe. I'm not sure what this Narcotics Anonymous group's rules are though. Say, they're not some Evil Dark Deeds group, are they? Wouldn't want that sort about Hogwarts!

I have complete faith in your ability to handle this one little bit of magical technology, Mr. Pye. You did such a nice job designing the pit!
