Kidnapped by cultists!

However, since it's via postal service as opposed to snail mail, there's no guarantee that they'll actually reach their recipents at Hogwarts...



((OOC explanation is that with Nightwing-mun away for a week and me in the middle of midterms, we needed to get Ryuuji and Nightwing out of the RP for a little. So, they were kidnapped. By cultists. Crazed slash fangirl cultists, to be precise, who have this plan to marry Ryuuji and Nightwing off, then perform a ritual sacrifice to the God of Gay so that everyone in the world will turn homosexual. Even the bisexuals. And if you're wondering why they're making Nightwing the 'uke', it's because Ryuuji's got the more dominant personality. And he's taller. Feel free to have your char receive the invitation and be confused, if you like. Ryuuji can't answer owls at the moment since he's being held captive, but messages asking 'WTF?!' are welcome. As are congratulations on his French/choice of marriage partners.))

She stared at her card, for a little while, wondering why did they turn Nightwing into a lady. Sadly, her French was lacking, leaving her only to understand the date, and the phrase "mariage".

Oz shook his head. He didn't want to break it to Ryuuji, but he doubted that anyone would believe him in white.

*has seen damn near everything and is not particularly disturbed to see guys in dresses, but the word "culte" gives her a start so she sends Muggle mail to a contact in the crime lab in Paris she met at a seminar. There's probably not a chance in hell it will get there in time, but at least she's tried to do something*

Shizuka shook her head. She didn't know who'd send her the card, or why, or what exactly it said, but she suspected it may not have come from Otogi-san or Nightwing-san.

"French people are weird," she said to herself, before she folded the card and put it in her pocket. (Even not knowing what it said, Shizuka could figure out it was in French.) She could ask the boys about it when they got back to school. Maybe.

Mokuba blinked, quite a bit. Then set the card down. Maybe it was some sort of practical joke? Ryuuji did a lot of those, after all.

Still....

He wasn't sure whether to be happy for Ryuuji, annoyed at him, sorry for his brother, waiting for the rest of the joke, or--

"But! I don't even know the guy! How can you marry someone I've not met yet, 'nii-chan?!"

River read the announcement and beamed. It was wonderful that they were both getting married at the same time, and she could completely understand that he hadn't had the chance to respond to her owl...

...except that she was getting an eerie sense about this, somewhat like the time she'd sensed the fire on Serenity just before it burst into the galley. She couldn't pin it down, though, and besides, after the way Captain Reynolds had reacted to her and Stephen (http://community.livejournal.com/hogwarts_hocus/312027.html?view=14903771#t14903771), she wasn't about to judge anyone else's choice of partner.

Stephen received his copy of the announcement at the same time, the House Elves who brought the post having realized that their correspondence should go to the same place. The idea that Ryuuji was marrying a man did not seem to him out of keeping with the habits of the wizarding world, and the idea that a "Cult of Slash" should be performing the wedding could hardly be viewed askance considering that Stephen himself had only a month ago been in a wedding officiated by Kaibaman. There was only one word in the admittedly garish announcement that puzzled him. "Qu'est-ce que c'est, le fanfic? And should we send gifts?"

River shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe it's what we're supposed to get them?"

"The invitation does instruct us to bring fanfic. That must be what they'd like for their new household. Shall we order some, then, and have it mailed to Paris for the occasion?"

"I have not the faintest, sweetheart. Perhaps we should look for some in Hogsmeade? I could stand to get off this damnable campus for a bit," he added, thinking of Mal Reynolds and scowling.

"That's a good idea. Do you mind if I owl Logan to meet us there? I said I'd like to talk to him, and that way---" she gave him an impish look--- "you'd be there and everything would be... proper."

Fillerbunny is capable of many things, thanks to the scientists at the Academy.

However, reading French is not one of them. Ensuring first that Mister Bignose is comfortable, he toddles off in seach of River for help.

Fillerbunny finds River just after she replies to Harry's owl (http://community.livejournal.com/hogwarts_hocus/317222.html#cutid1), and she happily goes off to help him (feeling more than a little bad that she hasn't spent much time with her ex-roommate since falling madly in love with Stephen, and wanting to be sure the bunny is okay).

Fillerbunny gives River a big hug (around her ankle, basically, but you can't blame a bunny for trying). "Hello Miss River! I got this from Mist-- from Ryuuji. Can you read it for me?"

River pets Fillerbunny and picks him and the note up. "Of course!" She looks at it. "Oh, Stephen and I got one of these too! It says that Ryuuji's getting married to Nightwing! Isn't it wonderful?" She realizes, much to her embarrassment, that she hasn't told Fillerbunny about her own impending marriage, and blushes a darker pink than the bunny's fur--- then decides to make the best of it. "Guess what? I've got some more good news!"

((OOC: Yay for River and Fillerbunny hanging out again! We've both missed FB! :D Though River has probably been distracted from missing her buddy by the angst-and-smut-fest that is her relationship with Stephen.... *snerk*))

"Oh!" Fillerbunny's eyes got very big, and his ears trembled slightly. "Oh my goodness, that is some good news indeed. I would very much like to come to the wedding, yes." His ears trembled again. "You and Doctor Stephen must be very happy."

He nodded very fast. "I would like that very much. When is the wedding going to be?"

"Thank you!" She stroked his fur affectionately. "We haven't set a date yet, but I'll tell you as soon as we do!"

"Yay!" His nose twitched. "I am very glad that you and Doctor Stephen are happy. I am sure Mister Bignose would be happy too, if he could talk. Right now he is enjoying the ants that came for the honey that Ryuuji sent us."

Victor turned the card over in his hands. His french was no good, but given that the invitation wasn't terribly verbose, a few minutes with a dictionary yielded a translation (which explained everything except why the cult was calling itself "old," and why they wanted fanfiction.)

He debated with himself about trying to get a rescue mission going-- Cult of Slash had a nasty ring to it. Their were two possibilities: a) that they were a cult of crazed horror-movie lovers who wanted to reenact a scene from a movie on Ryuuji and Nightwing's wedding night, or b) they were slash fans who were intending to marry Ryuuji and Nightwing in some crazed plan to make the entire world gay.
