Jack was, for want of a better term brooding. In the style anyone who knew him could tell he was far from happy, which never ended with a good thing at all. Didn't help that he was sat on a patch of roof, with the pterodactyl next to him for company. First it had been Tosh and Gwen, then the Doctor he'd known first, Suzie too. So maybe he wasn't so much missing the crazy Master guy but hey, anything then would have cheered him up. He turned to the pterodactyl tempted to send it to go hunt down Owen who he hoped was still human and not snack food, but he decided against that as he didn't know where Diane was and he wasn't up for an annoyed doctor shouting and swearing at him for interrupting anything. Which made him want to do it all the more. But then he didn't want the pterodactyl to get harmed, maybe no physically but still, there was concern for the things mental health. He wondered where Ianto was too. They'd all just gone.

"... So yeah, it's just me, him and Yan, or maybe just me and you..." Jack looked like he sounded, just short of depressed, as he peered down over the edge. But it was of course that he missed JD most of all. There was only so long he could pretend that it was all alright. He pointed out into the distance. "Go on." The pterodactyl took the hint and flew off, just missing pushing him off the roof. Jack wondered absently if that would be a break in the boredom. But then he'd just hurt for a while. It would take away the other pain he felt. He didn't of course, something stopped him. He wandered down taking his time since well he didn't really have anything better to do, the dogs were asleep he'd already walked them a number of times that day to the point they were bored of him. He pulled his coat around him a little more as he wandered down and out towards the lake.

He found a rock and sat.

Just staring, he wasn't even sure what at, just something in the distance.

Dr Suresh:

Might I welcome you back to our fair institution, albeit belatedly? It was with great disappointment I found you had quite vanished, when I would have sought to hear more of evolution. More, I have of late been in need of an assistant, and it had occurred to me that for once I might seek someone qualified to serve that role. So I was quite pleased to hear of your return, courtesy of my very well-informed house-elf.

Said house-elf, the bearer of this message, can show you to the potions laboratory, if you have not yet become acclimated to our ever-shifting school's layout, and should you be amenable to a chat about science. SCIENCE!

- S. Maturin, potions master.

PS. Have you any familiarity with the custom and procedures of duelling?

((When angels are happy, it's kind of infectious. Any person entering the Gryffindor common room would feel this as a sudden inexplicable elation. Evil characters would feel pretty much the opposite. This takes place before this and is backdated to the 18th of September.

If your pup has a tagging preference, please indicate who you would prefer to interract with out of Brice and Mel. Otherwise, we'll just alternate. =) ))

The Gryffindor common room was fizzing, quite literally, with life. It was a feeling reminiscent of a curtain having been pulled aside to let an extra dose of sunshine into the room, except that it was making the very air glitter and zing like sparkling champagne. Sometimes the vibes were clearly visible, like golden sparks bobbing along in the air or resting against pieces of furniture in the room.

The cause? Brice de Winter was moving in with Melanie Beeby. Their combined excitement, mixed with nervousness and sheer surprise that they were actually doing this, was literally making the air hum. There was a certain bounce in Brice's steps as he walked from one room to the other, moving boxes of clothes, books, records and various items into Mel's quarters. Mel seemed to glide more gracefully, but this apparent effortlessness is sort of broken when you know she tied that funky bandana about seven times to get it just right. She was being careful, though, trying to make sure nothing got broken or misplaced or forgotten, while worrying out loud about the space in the room.

Tracy the bulldog had curled up in a comfy chair to watch the events. The influx of angelic vibes were apparently making her sleepy, because she was blinking slowly at the two moving angels and appeared to have some difficulties keeping her eyes open. Twoey on the other hand was as wired as only a small puppy can be, and was doing her absolute best to be in everyone's way, twisting lovingly around Brice's feet and yapping whenever she saw fit. So much action! She was so excited!

Miles returned to Hogwarts like a tornado on speed. It was really, really good to be back here. At least in Hogwarts, he didn't have to pretend to be the slightly psychotic space admiral or the dutiful young Barrayaran officer. He could just be Miles, because nobody here cared about who he was supposed to be on any given day.

There was a little bounce in his limping stride as he made his way toward Slytherin, whistling a popular Barrayaran folk tune. He didn't have any idea what his immediate plans were, except they involved food, sending an owl to Susan, and possibly looking for something to blow up. However, that was the future. Now, he was ripe for being bothered, should anyone wish.

The Hogwarts library was busy but quiet, except for the murmurs of people studying and quietly conversing.

"Boring!"

"Shh!"

...and except for the table in the far corner, where two teenagers were trying to study. The third... was not.

The third... was Tomo.

I wish we both could just talk it all over / But my baby won't even make a sound / Now she makes everybody sick / Doin' that pantomime shtick... )

((Open RP in the library, some nebulous time after Jaime and Lola's trip to Hogsmeade. Come bother my pups - specify in comments if you only want to poke one! Or just stare at and mock the seemingly silent Tomo! She's not silenced, she's just screened to herself, basically.

EDIT: If you haven't tagged and still want to poke at Tomo, I'm pretending that the Maia thread happens after any and all other conversations, so go ahead and I'll play it that way.))
