The remodeling had not gone as planned.

House elves, Cordelia decided, were the most negative sort of contractors. For the last two months, she'd heard nothing but "no." No, you can’t install a hot tub in your suite because old castles don’t have the suitable plumbing. No, you can’t take out that wall, the resident behind it might get mad. In the end, she’d had to settle for half the square footage she’d planned for and merely a garden tub in her bath. Private school was turning out to be a drag, and she wasn’t even completely enrolled yet.

Cordelia put away the last of her Prada bags (pre-owned, but who would notice?) in the way-too-small-for-reasonable-living-conditions-sized closet and shut the door. Ready to meet some of her castle-mates, she headed into the Gryffindor lobby. There was so much to learn. Where to park her Corvette, for instance. Who to talk to for faster upward mobility. Or, in that case, who to avoid...

Okay, The truth is, I have absolutely no idea why I let myself be mindlessly coerced into doing this. Seriously, I totally zoned out at whatever horrible meeting this whole... idea of me, schooling, whatever, got brought up-- I think I was thinking of something nicer, like my ex-wife being crucified, and aaaanyhoo, the point is, I don't want to be doing this and you pro-hobably do not want me amongst you.

That said, for whatever reason--oh, there goes that daydream again about my ex-wife-- okay, sorry, for whatever reason, I'm here and I have to write one of these things, soooooo, I think instead I'm just going to read this over and tell you just what I think about this "application," because lemme tell ya, I'm pretty sure that's the only way I'm going to get out of this without actually hanging myself by my own small intestine. I am a horrible person, leaving while I'm not even Sorted yet, but I didn't think before I applied due to a massive case of stage fright.

Anyway, tomorrow I'm off to Japan. I won't have any internet access; luckily my application thread's slowed down drastically. I return on the 25th, and I will totally understand if ze hat or ze mods wish to penalize me in some way for being so stupid.

I will be coming back to the community, if you'll have me. I like it here.
