Hey there, everybody. Welcome...to Monsterpiece Theater. I am your host, Alaistair Cookie...oops, wait, what’s wrong with this script. Silly me. This is Logan Echolls, not Cookie Monster...honestly, I haven’t even been blue since that one April Fool’s Day when Lilly put food coloring in the jacuzzi...and this! Is Wart Radio.
Tonight, I’ll be playing your requests and answering your calls, comments, queries, and complaints. And, of course, adding a few things from my own music collection, to even out some of the suckiness. Oh, no, of course I’m not talking about the song you requested. Your taste in music is impeccable.
By the way, next DJ up will be Gryffindor’s own Adam Young. Call in and let him know if you want your name added to the list. Or if you’ve got any emotional problems you feel the Antichrist should know about. Well, you could also call me, of course, but he, unlike me, is not evil.
With that in mind, I’m going to start off tonight’s music with the first track off the latest Spoon album, The Beast and Dragon, Adored, dedicated from me to...not Adam, sorry, man, you know I love you, but not like that. To someone else. Here we go!
Now, can I just remark, people, on the insane variety of the music we’ve got here at WART? How did all of this get here together? Why am I worrying my pretty head about something so minor league weird? I don’t know.
( Don’t mess with me. I’ve got six different versions of The Girl from Ipanema, here, and I’m not afraid to play them. ...Okay, I’m a little afraid. Six! Seriously! What the hell? )
