A black lacquered box is left outside the door to Ryuuji's room, padded with white silk and containing the corpse of a nightingale that had its throat cleanly cut. A carefully folded parchment lies underneath it, with Keats' Ode to A Nightingale written out in a bold hand and black ink. The word "Darkling" is shadowed in red, just in case Ryuuji manages to somehow miss the the point of the poem.
