Since stealing Jaime Lannister's golden hand, Arya had spent more time than usual in her room in Gryffindor. Mostly she stared at it as it sat on a dusty low table, thinking. Starks were not good schemers, as a whole. Ideas for what to do with it had been thought up and considered, and eventually put aside. Put it in a privy somewhere? Well, he had killed Jory, and Heward, and Wyl. And probably lots of other people besides, along with the old mad king. But he had also said that he wanted to kill Queen Cersei, too, so... maybe not that, then.
At least, not unless he did something really horrid here.
At last, she decided on an appropriate punishment for being a Lannister who killed her father's men and broke oaths and probably did all sorts of other things besides, and set out to do so. Around Hogwarts, the golden hand appeared for short lengths of time, variously adorned, and hexed to fixtures, unable to be removed. Until, of course, Arya decided that it was time for it to move on again.
The hand appeared:
-Taped to a stick in the Great Hall. The stick is tied to a table and unable to be removed; a scrap of parchment with "FREE BACKSCRATCHER" scrawled on it lies next to it.
-Glued to a keyboard in the compy lab.
-Seeming to hold a big pink flower, wedged in a low fork in a tree close to the greenhouses.
-Being used to stir a pot of soup in the kitchens by an irritated-looking house elf.
-Covered in silver glitter in front of DETHTOWER.
((Arya will mostly be hanging around in the background and watching people gawk at the hand. If you want to interact with her, leave a note in the subject line! Otherwise she's just flaunting that Jaime has no hand.))

Arya might want to intervene. . . I couldn't resist. =D
Date: 2011-04-21 01:27 am (UTC)"We have a hand!" "Or does DETHTOWER have a hand?" Now that the hand was identified, the Shoggies had to figure out what to do with it, and a little debate arose. "It's set here like an offering so maybe it's for Great Master Cthulhoo and we need to take care of it," suggested Shoggy 22. "Maybe it grew there, like a plant," was Shoggy 13 1/3's proposal. "Or it's actually a present for us, that would be sooo cool!" Shoggy 6.6 suggested hopefully.
After another hour or so of debate, the Shoggies decided that the hand was either a present for DETHTOWER/Great Master Cthulhoo/Themselves, or, that it was a hand-plant that had grown there, and in that case, it was a present for all three. The hand remained untouched, as all the Shoggies wanted it, and, had eventually come to the agreement of sharing it. Which meant they intended to leave it where it was, while keeping an eye on it. A small ring of four Shoggies was left guarding the hand, with frequent visitors to gawk at the hand, and occasional replacement shifts- this Shoggy-vigil would go on until Arya reclaimed the hand from its DETHTOWER location. . .

Date: 2011-04-26 02:50 am (UTC)not quite an intervention, but I'm too lazy to write up a freestanding unpopcorning post.
Date: 2011-04-21 03:31 am (UTC)He'd found his own way to the baths and scrubbed himself clean of grease. He was finding it less easy to rid himself of postpopcorn haze, a sort of swimming feeling in his head. Also, he couldn't turn said head, so as he walked the corridors in a purposeful effort at reconnaissance and self-reorientation, he felt more vulnerable than he'd like. There was the feeling of being watched, of being unguarded from the back. It didn't help that a couple of times, when he did turn around fully to check behind him, there proved to be a house elf or a living portrait goggling at him, substantiating the uneasy sense of presence.
He found there were new places entirely, and he sought these out especially. Dethtower did not faze him in name or in appearance, not after the things he'd been through. What did give him pause, what stopped him in his tracks, was the spectacle of a golden hand surrounded by amorphous and animated gobbets of flesh.
"The Tower of the Hand," he mused.

Date: 2011-04-22 03:55 am (UTC)The last time her father had come to Hogwarts, she had greeted him very dramatically (http://hogwarts-hocus.livejournal.com/1387157.html?thread=70663061#t70663061). This time, she had been watching for his return, and that of the rest of her family. It was not as terrible a surprise, and this time he was not carrying his head around under his arm, which was a relief.
Her voice caught in her throat, relieved and a little ashamed--she had let her usual daily visit to the popcorn room slip since stealing the Kingslayer's hand, preoccupied with thoughts of petty and satisfying revenge. "Father?"
She hoped he wouldn't be too angry with her for stealing someone's hand. After all, it was the Kingslayer's.

Date: 2011-04-23 12:55 am (UTC)The little swarm of Shoggies had been on the verge of piping a greeting to Ned, and announcing that he had indeed come to the DETHTOWER OF THE HAND, when Arya appeared and approached him. They murmured amongst themselves quietly, mainly regarding the size differences in the two humans, which made it clear that Arya was indeed an extra-tiny one. And, apparently, she was the big one's offspring! "Sooo cool," the Shoggies murmured- as they reproduced asexually, families were a strange and different concept- and thus, so cool. "Do you think she's adoptionated like Shoggies?" Shoggy 13 1/3 wondered, referring to Toki and Skwisgaar's Shoggies, which the other Shoggies all seemed to pick up on, despite the unclear reference. They kept their murmurs quiet, somehow deciding that this wasn't a meeting to intrude on. "I don't know? How do humans make smaller humans, anyway? Do they cut part of their flaily-bits off and then they grow into little humans?" wondered Shoggy 8. By 'flaily-bits', it meant 'arms and legs'. "We could ask, maybe? When they aren't busy?" proposed Shoggy 6.6. Now, the Shoggies made no move to interrupt what seemed a potentially important reunion. . .

Date: 2011-04-22 03:48 am (UTC)Arya returned after some time, ready to move the Kingslayer's hand elsewhere on the grounds for more amusement. Only she couldn't, because it was being guarded by pink blobby things that she was fairly sure she'd seen before (http://hogwarts-hocus.livejournal.com/1882726.html). "What are you doing?" she said, approaching them warily. "That's not yours." It wasn't hers, either, but
it was hers by the right of her taking itshe was temporarily in charge of it, in a way. Until she decided that the hand should be returned.no subject

Date: 2011-04-23 03:31 am (UTC)She chewed her lip in confusion for a moment, trying to puzzle out what they meant, and shook her head. She hadn't meant to leave the hand as an offering to anyone. "It's not really for anyone. I mean, I suppose it kind of is, but it's more a joke. Or a lesson. I don't know, really," she said, scratching at her head.
