There's uh, my bed. It's covered in blood. Or something else red. And sticky. I mean I found it this way, I was passed out drunk in the common room for a while... like I do. My bed, god, it's completely saturated. I sat on it and this huge puddle of blood seeped out onto the floor, so now my floor's all bloody too. It's really brutal, but I can't sleep in this shit. And it kinda smells like dead troll in here. And it's making me weirdly hungry.

Your bed. You know. Isn't as big as mine, but it's all right. I mean it's a NICE bed, a really nice bed. Uh...

Can I borrow it? To sleep in. With you. In your bed. If you're busy with your class thing, that's cool. I can sleep through noise. I won't bug you, I promise. Unless you look like you could use some bugging.

Nathan deposited his bundle of clothes, pillow, and paper on the nearest available surface, which happened to be the desk. He was at least careful enough to not knock anything over. See, Nathan can be trained.

"You wanna go somewhere?" he asked, turning to look at Charles. His eyes wandered of their own accord, taking a pleasant detour down Charles' body. Subtlety was not something that Nathan possessed in great abundance. "I could use a beer. Hair of the dog and all."

"If you like," Ofdensen said, putting the bundle in a neater pile. "I had thought of ordering in and just eating here. That was before your owl, of course."

"No, staying here's good," Nathan replied, just a little too quickly. He looked off to the side awkwardly and cleared his throat. "Uh, I don't feel like walking all the way out to the Great Hall or wherever. So yeah, here's good."

He took the liberty of summoning a house-elf himself and listed off the various alcohol he wanted, but paused before deciding on any food. "We should get a table in here. A, uh, real one. With chairs," he said to Charles, but then glared down at the house-elf to include it in the conversation. "Two chairs. And a blanket... thing that covers the top." He was maybe slightly embarrassed that he also wanted to ask for candles—but at least they'd have to be brutal black ones. They wouldn't serve much purpose, since it wasn't dark out yet. Maybe they could get some to use during dinner...

Ofdensen bit back a laugh at the house elf's expression when the table and chairs were requested.

"No doubt he's thinking 'where am I going to put them'? It's a magic school. I'm sure the elf will think of something."

Then he smiled-a real smile-at Nathan. "Bloody bed aside, how have you been while I buried myself in work?"

"Good. There's been band stuff, drinking in the dethtub, fireworks with Smaug, you know, the usual..." He also mumbled something about Gryffindor.

Since Charles was so often busy these days, band practise happened infrequently, and drinking could only occupy so much of Nathan's time, the singer had surprisingly been availing himself of the Gryffindor gym every so often, putting a little effort into taming the flab that had been bothering him. Even after only a few weeks of this, the time he'd invested at the gym had a fairly noticeable effect on him already—slightly less paunch, a little more definition throughout his shoulders and arms. All the heavy drinking he did as well as general laziness undermined his efforts, so it was really a wonder he was making progress at all. It would be quite sometime before he ever managed to look like he did (http://best-guitarist.livejournal.com/3288.html#cutid1) when he was younger, but the possibility apparently still existed.

Anyway, none of it would really be obvious until they moved on to activities that required less clothing. And Nathan was contemplating one of these as he picked at his blood-crusted shirt. He needed a shower.

"And how's, uh, work?" he eventually asked, moving closer to fuss with Charles' shirt instead, beginning to untuck it. "Still planning your classes here?"

"Yes," Ofdensen nodded. "I'm almost ready to have office hours, and then the lesson itself. I think I'll start with the Unforgivables, then work down."

With Charles' shirt untucked, Nathan slipped his hands up underneath it. He didn't intend to go any farther yet, but just wanted to grope Charles a bit. "What're the Unforgivables?"

Wasn't like Nathan had actually been learning about magic at Hogwarts. To be fair, it wasn't completely his fault—there were no longer classes held that taught magic, and who wanted to spend all day in the stuffy library? He knew a few key spells like Accio, that was enough.

"Three spells that are supposed to be forbidden to use," Ofdensen said, leaning in. "Though considering where we're at, I doubt there would be much problems. Pretty gruesome spells too. One tortures the recipient."

"Brutal," was predictably Nathan's response. "Torture, huh?" He smirked as he leant down as though he'd kiss Charles, but nuzzled along his jaw instead. "I could go for some private tutoring on that." Euphemistically speaking.

"Perhaps later," Ofdensen said. "Dinner now."

Right on cue, the table appeared with dinner spread out on it.

Oh well, good food and sex, both were equally awesome. Might as well eat first. Nathan reluctantly (and somewhat untidily) tucked Charles' shirt back in for him, brushed a light kiss against his lips, then took the liberty of pulling out his chair for him. It was part habit, part just-because-he-wanted-to. He was on good behaviour.

"Do you have a bathroom attached to your room too?" he asked. "I don't want to use the public ones to shower later. School's full of creeps and weirdos." But luckily Nathan wasn't a pretty girly boy who would be likely to attract the attention of Hogwarts' resident creeps and weirdos, anyway.

"I do," Ofdensen said, smiling at Nathan as he sat down, "but there's only a shower. I'm admittedly not much of a bath person."

Which makes me very curious about how Charles would react to her showing up. Would he valiantly protect Nathan's junk? XD

"Shower's fine. Don't plan on taking long in there anyway." He took the seat across from Charles, a slow smile spreading across his face as he thought about it. "Unless you're in the mood for a shower too." He wasn't going to stop trying to get into Charles' pants any time soon.

His mun forgot what it was that Nathan was supposed to have ordered, so we'll go with steak. Probably Chicago-style and extra bloody. It was about the closest thing to charred troll meat he'd be getting, and when combined with beer, made an excellent hangover breakfast (lunch, technically, but he'd only recently woken up).

"We shall see," Ofdensen said, but the smile on the face said that he would not say no to a shower.

Ofdensen had steak too, but he had gotten his with a more traditional demi-glace, and his brandy of choice.

Of course Charles had ordered the 'classy' version of the same meal, thought Nathan, amused that food and alcohol choices could say so much about them as people.

"Dessert in the shower," he suggested hopefully as he started eating, and he made an effort to utilise the cutlery he'd been provided instead of just using his hands the way he usually would. Apparently dating Charles was more effective than 20-something years of his mother nagging him about his table manners.

"Why not? We have time." Not like there's an actual schedule to run on.

As he ate, he asked, "you said something about fireworks with Smaug?"

Nathan noticeably brightened when Charles agreed, only to become a little shifty looking at the mention of fireworks.

"Yeah, just some magic sparklers and shit. And we... found... some cannons, so we uh, put stuff in them," he mumbled, since he was expecting a bad reaction from Charles. It was nothing short of a miracle that they hadn't all wound up in the hospital wing at some point on the fourth—and at least they hadn't gone so far as launching each other out of the cannons, though Pickles had attempted and failed at it.

Ofdensen shrugged. "Well, as long as no one got hurt or the school didn't burn down." He said in a teasing voice, "Or any were set off in my office."

While he knew Nathan wouldn't do it, he wouldn't have put it past the others.

Nathan looked a bit more shifty at the mention of Charles' office. The idea had been suggested, though not by him. Luckily the others tended to follow Nathan's lead and listen to him when he made it explicitly clear (generally with death threats) that they weren't allowed to do something.

They weren't the ones who could be punished by Charles in the extremely cruel and unusual ways that Nathan could be. Such as by withholding sex. And he had no doubt that Charles would if he were pissed enough, since it was one of the few ways in which Nathan could truly be punished.

"No, not the school," he said as he reached for a beer. "But part of the forest sort of... exploded. Gunpowder keg and dragonfire." His tone indicated it had been an extremely metal sight. "Hey, you should've been out there with us. What'd you do for the fourth?"

"I worked." Ofdensen had been tempted, but he still sometimes felt like an outsider to the band. "I'm too used to being behind the scenes, I suppose. Wait, I'm not going to get Howlers from pissed off centaurs, am I?"

"You're always working," Nathan pointed out, and there was just the hint of a pout in his voice. Generally he was okay with it, since he'd known that about Charles coming into the relationship, but sometimes... Well. He was irritated that he couldn't really pull the 'I'm more important than your work' bullshit, since Dethklok was Charles' work.

He laughed at the centaur comment. "Maybe. I don't know, they might be too afraid Smaug'll eat them if they do. They seem like weird horse hippies anyway."

"I try to have fun, but...well, it's in my nature to be a workaholic." He smiled lopsidedly at Nathan. "Sorry?"

He couldn't help laughing at Nathan's comment about Smaug. "Of course. What I wouldn't give to have him come along to contract negotiations."

"At least you're not working right now." He paused with a frown, quickly glancing around the table as though making sure no paperwork had sneaked onto it when he wasn't looking.

"If Smaug could fit through that doorway thing, bet he would be willing to help." He glanced down and picked at his steak with a thoughtful expression, and after a moment he started to grin. "...How hard do you think it'd be to convince our friend Cornickelson to take a little trip with us?"

"After our last...negotiation with him. Either he'd be too scared to come out of his office or he'd be falling over his feet to obey." Ofdensen smirked. "Fans would probably love him."

As much as Nathan would enjoy seeing Damien eaten alive by a dragon... "After all the shit he's pulled, a quick death's too good for that douchebag anyway."

Damien's douchebaggery was also of the entirely predictable kind, which was more than they could say about any of the other idiots at the label who they'd be forced to deal with instead, if Damien 'mysteriously disappeared'.

Nathan was absently stabbing at his steak a little more violently than before as he fell into one of his brooding silences. It wasn't Damien who occupied his thoughts now. Maybe time hadn't quite healed all wounds that had been caused during those horrible nine months.
