It should be noted that part of the reason for this is so that the mun can poke fun at her pups...but feel free to treat it like a regular open RP :D
So, Maddie is utterly convinced this school is filled with mass murderers or useless detectives. That Reeyousockie (L for the informed, Ryuusaki for others), who never comes out of his room and it utterly rude when he does, B, Apos, that little girl with the gun, Mikami...just who has she met that doesn't have a body count?
You might think the mun was mean and such.
You might be right.
So, anyways, what would Maddie think of someone who has a reason for their body count? I mean, the whole kill or be killed thing of war has to be worth some kind of redemption, doesn't it? Even if she doesn't know the history of the person she's talking to, right? (The mun is going with nearly every country's history is as ethnocentric as the history she learned and therefore Maddie hasn't studied Japanese history [which can get quite convoluted, the mun has read in her very superficial studies]). Shall we find out, though, for the sake of the mun and those who read, a little break in the scene is called for.
So, picture the scene, if you will, the grounds, the stairs leading to the school. It's a fairly nice day, a nice breeze, warm, perhaps promising a nice rain on toward sunset, but it's closer to midday now. Y'know, one of those idyllic days when all wish they were young and carefree and could just wander...
The mun will get to the point (x100 on the chalk board)...
So, in this lovely day, a samurai is returning to the castle from practicing kata on the grounds with a very stubborn blond brat who is finally learning the correct way to strike and block without trying to figure out just how he can incorporate other styles into the attack...in other words, Mello is a pain in the ass, but that's not entirely relevant to this post and he's not open for play unless you ask nicely (the mun is easy...[the mun probably shouldn't say that]). It should be noted, in fairness, that the samurai has usurped several of their lessons and practice sessions to learn magical defense and offense so there has been a considerable break in the practice of swordplay.
And, as such, coming right from practice, the samurai has some color in his cheeks, his hair's a bit windswept (not much though, really...appearances and such) and his sword is blatantly on his hip. He is pleased with himself, or so seems to be, the way he's walking.
Such a nice walk, too. Just the right blend of hips moving and catlike grace that says either 'I will rip your throat out before you can breathe' or 'Heya, sexy, want to join me for breakfast after dinner?' The mun believes it is possible for one walk to say both.
And, Maddie, on the stairs of the school, sees this walk. It should be noted that Maddie has been at Hogwarts for nigh unto two years. The mun can't be arsed to actually look so that's close enough. Maddie also hasn't had any 'fun' in that time. So, while Maddie is aware of the first statement of that walk, the second keeps her looking.
Yukimura, very aware of eyes on him and seeing an unfamiliar face, smiles. Flirt first, test the waters, then react as needed. And, now you know the strategy, only...it's not really flirting, it just seems that way. "Hello," he says when they are close enough.
Maddie smiles back, the way he sounds pushing her estimate of how old he is down to something closer to twenty than the 37 years Yukimura can claim. "Hello," she replied, chiding herself that this bloke was likely to be close to jail bait. The mun laughs. Admittedly, her eyes drift...Yukimura's something to check out, y'know...nice body, nice face...holy hell, look at that sword! Hurry, hurry, back where you belong eyes. "Nice to meet you, I'm Maddie," she says.
"Sanada Yukimura," Yuki says (the mun gives up, it's what her fingers wanna type), bowing at her. He's aware of the 'zomg sword' reflex. "A pleasure to meet you. Please, though, call me Yukimura," he said, his voice amused, almost laughing.
Oh, joy, a happy murderer. "It's a nice day, Yukimura," Maddie says, almost getting the name right and why such a dorky comment? Because it's normal...the mun will stop again...
"Indeed, made practice very pleasant," he agreed, tilting his head at her. She seems a bit nervous to him, her eyes wavering between his and his sword. "This bothers you?"
Maddie fidgets, pushing her hair back behind her ear and then pulling it out again. "Well, it's just that..." she mumbled.
"It is a tool, a symbol of my rank, and has saved my life," he said, his hand resting on the hilt. "Do you truly object to its presence?" he asked.
Ah, a trap of words. His tone is so very nice, yet...there's something in that question. "There are enough murderers to be aware of here," she mumbles. "Excuse me," she says quickly, turning to go back into the school.
Yukimura stands on the grounds a moment, watching after her and then looking around, as if seeking someone, a slight frown on his lips.
So, follow whom you will, observe, or make fun of the mun for her smartassedness being less than epic as it should be...whichever you prefer :D
