Starter Debate Questions:

1) How will you make your House a better place?
2) Are you experienced? Have you ever been experienced?
3) Teamwork is important. How do you get along with the members of your House?
4) If you were to get your ass kicked, who would you want to do it and why?
5) Who is your hero and why?
6) Where my lasers at?


Rules for the Debate:

A. Any persons currently nominated for Prefect may choose to answer or not answer any questions asked.

B. Any Hogwarts student or staff member, including those running for Prefect, may pose additional questions to any or all nominees. If you would like to ask nominees questions, please ask them now ((OOCly: post them in a comment or comments to this post. Be sure to indicate in your subject line that your comment contains questions, and if they are directed to specific candidates, please indicate that, as well.)) Keep in mind that nominees are not required to answer any questions. Voters may choose to take failure to answer any way they would like.

C. Question answering begins immediately, and lasts until the time the Polls go up, which will be approximately 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009. ((OOCly that's 8 pm Eastern Daylight Time. ICly it wouldn't make any sense to specify a time zone since they're all at Hogwarts XD ))

Soichiro looked at the fighting with something akin to horror. "Should we...should we try to stop them? This can't do anyone any good."

"Normally I would say we should," Brienne answered. "But do you think we could actually stop them? Without turning this into a brawl?"

"No. We'd certainly need more people than we already got." Soichiro sighed. "And they'd rather watch than help."

Thankfully, that was about the time that Nathan pulled Toki off Skwisgaar. Brienne blew out a relieved sigh.

"I'm not sure I would trust any of the other Gryffindor candidates to be useful," she said in a low voice. "I wouldn't wish to put a young girl in harm's way, and..." She jerked her head in Beowulf's direction with a grimace that was fairly self-explanatory.

Soichiro grimaced as well. "Yes. He's rather...loud, isn't he. And I wouldn't want either him," he pointed to A, "or him," Wishbone now, "to get involved either."

Brienne grimaced again, shaking her head. "No. Definitely not them," she agreed. She considered the older man for a moment, then said carefully, "I was thinking. If each house elects two prefects, they ought to work together, as that would accomplish more than two people simply doing their own things. I have no idea if either of us are like to win, but it is something to think about."

"I certainly would attempt to work together with my fellow prefect, and if my fellow detective Matsuda did I would encourage him to do the same. It'd be better for both prefects and for Gryffindor."

That was a nicely diplomatic answer, Brienne thought wryly. She wasn't sure if she ought to be encouraged or not. She decided to move on.

"Do yo9u really think we'll end up installing hot tubs?" she wanted to know. For some reason, the mere asking of the question made her blush.

Soichiro took off his glasses and rubbed his face. "I'd rather not; it seems silly. If we had it in a separate room, closed off with a place for people to change, it does seem feasible."

Brienne nodded. "That would be acceptable," she said. "Either way, if it happened, we should make sure people aren't made to feel uncomfortable about using them."

"Hmmm, if we have the room, we could do two, a male only one and a female only one." He sighed. "Though I suppose they'd want a co-ed one."
