Hogwarts First Annual Chili Fest! ((Open RP for whole school. Free food! Mingling opportunities!))
The making of chili had been highly successful. With River and A working together, they'd made nearly enough to feed the whole school. Thankfully, the kitchen had some pretty huge pots.
And now they were in the great hall, River on one side of the pot and A on the other, each armed with an apron, a ladel, and a spoon. Next to the pot were containers holding sour cream and various types of cheese and cut up chives, for garnish. A sign at the door read 'Free chili! Come and enjoy!'

Yes, Soichiro was still throwing cards into a hat. Only this time his aim was off.
Way off.
So off it might end up hitting someone's ankle.

"Is this a work of charity?" I asked them; for I could think of no other reason for their current activity.

The short, frenetic astronomy professor found a place in line and picked up a bowl. "How spicy is this going to be?" he asked the pretty young woman serving the chili, offering up a friendly smile.

Far away a voice was calling her name, always coming closer, but at the moment the dog didn't care about that. She was mostly focusing on the food.

"Is there someone who cares for you who might allow you a small amount of chili? It is strongly seasoned, but a few bites would not make you ill."

"There you are!" Much to her dismay, Brice came up behind Twoey and kneeled beside her to tug lightly at her ears as punishment for running off. "Don't scare me like that."
He looked up. Oh, hello. Smelled nice. The guy was vaguely familiar (http://community.livejournal.com/hogwarts_hocus/1620821.html?thread=85356629#t85356629) too. The name was pretty easy to remember, though, he was one of those people who just had one letter... Weren't there a whole bunch of them?
"That looks good," he commented. "Could I have some?" Twoey arfed eagerly, and Brice rolled his eyes. "And a small bowl for the dog, please. Really small. Think thimble."
