Open RP: Great Hall: It's Alive!

The circles under his eyes are more pronounced than usual today. L slips into the Great Hall, to get himself a pot of tea. Once it arrives, he sits and pauses, to wait for it to steep. It needs to be stronger than this.

He's been pushing himself on a case the past few days. It's resolved now, but it was the first real challenge he's had since moving here, so he may have dropped off the face of the earth a little. Time to emerge and make sure everyone is still alive and well.

As soon as the tea is finished steeping, that is.

"Just - stay safe. I know Light's kind of... but this Mikami guy, he's seriously psycho. You should have heard some of the shit he was coming out with."

Their problems will still be there in the morning.

"Yeah. Good plan."

He kisses L on the cheek again as they climb the last set of stairs. Almost there.

"We could talk more about how we're going to be sharing the same room from now on." A much nicer topic!

"I'm just worried I'll never want to leave it."

He can see staying holed up with Matt for ages.

"Well, we'll probably want to use the prefects' bathroom sometimes. But apart from that..."

Matt would be totally cool with being stuck in a room with L for extended periods of time. After all, he'll have his consoles, too.

But other than that... L yawns, while he considers the idea, tired and pleased.

"C'mon."

Matt holds open the door to the common room for L, and tries to keep himself half a pace or so ahead of L as they make their way towards his (their?) room, so he can hold that one too.

L follows, and lets him do all that sort of work, because he seems to want to.

"Are you working on anything over the next few days?"

"Nothing huge. Just boring shit to pay for bills."

By 'bills' he means 'video games and ridiculous purchases on eBay'.

"Why?"

"I just want to escape with you for a little, soon. Try and get a few spare days."

L can run off with him.

"That sounds nice." Especially with the added psycho Kira-worshippers. "If I take a laptop I'd be able to do what I need to do when we're away. It wouldn't take more than an hour."

Matt opens the door for L, revealing a much larger bed and much less floor space than he'd previously enjoyed.

"I like it," L announces, "but we really do need to get some of your things out of here."

Walking is going to be a challenge, if things get messy.

"Well, once we get an electronics room," Matt says, tugging L across the floor.

"But we'll do it later, right? If you're sleepy." And Matt dislikes getting things organised.

"Later." He follows quickly, settling down onto the new bed, sort of testing it.

"I do like it."

"Awesome."

Matt can't stop grinning, suddenly. L's going to be living with him. He sits down, immediately leaning in to kiss L - a long, unbelievably pleased kiss.

L snags a hand through Matt's hair, and tugs his goggles off gently, pulling them backwards on the spaceous bed.

"I like it very much."

"Mm," Matt says, allowing himself to be pulled backwards. An arm curls around L's waist, and he smiles.

"Thought you were sleepy...?"

Sleepy, not dead.

"I've stayed up longer." He kisses Matt's jaw.

He laughs, stroking L's face. They are in bed, after all. This probably counts as resting.

"Let me know if you're about to pass out," he says, and kisses L again. He lets one gloved hand make its way under L's shirt.

He honestly had been about to, but for the feel of Matt's glove on his skin, he can stay awake a moment longer.

"I like that. It's," shuddering, "it's an interesting texture."

"Yeah?" He notes the unexpected shudder, and runs his fingers up along L's spine. (He's not helping, he knows. L should be going to sleep. He'll let him alone in a moment.)

"As long as it's not bothering you..." Up, then back down again.

L arches with the touch, and eyes half closing, stretching languidly. He looks about ready to start purring.

"I could just keep doing this til you fall asleep, if you like," Matt says, watching L fondly.

"Or, y'know. I could kiss you again. Either way."

"Kiss me," instructs L, drowsily but firmly. "Please, kiss me."

Not exactly a request Matt's going to ignore. But it's a soft, tender kiss, in case L is about to nod off. His hand doesn't falter, either, stroking up and down the planes of L's back.
