The Unpopcorning of Light Yagami. Open RP

Awareness was the first thing to come to Light, but it might as well not have because the only thing that came forth was nothingness. Am I dead?, crosses the mind briefly before descending back to nothing. It feels cramped in this space, but also as if it goes on forever. That doesn't make sense, but it is all there is to feel. Memories float back lazily like clouds, but of where Light Yagami is currently or what he did just before escapes him. The last thing he remembers is finding out that Yotsuba has been proffiting off of Kira's power. Then, hearing comes back with the sound of a great

POP!

Suddenly there is floor under him, and butter all over him. Light lifts his head and sight returns just before the smell and taste of butter overpowers everything momentarily. Once he get's over the fact that there is butter everywhere, Light takes a moment to check the rest of himself over. His hair is a mess, and he is wearing a green sweater with the Slytherin insignia on it that goes well with the green socks and black shoes on his feet, although the socks are covered by tan pants. On one wrist there is a waterproof (hopefully butter proof too) watch, the other has a handcuff locked on it. Light's eyes trail down the chain of the handcuffs, only to find that Ryuzaki is nowhere to be found.

"Is this another test, Ryuzaki?" Light wonders aloud as he stands up to see if the door of this room is locked. It wouldn't surprise him if this was a test, as Ryuzaki already seems to be off his rocker about certain things, but it also would be unsurprising if this wasn't L's doing. Wouldn't he be covered in something sweeter than butter if this was L's idea? Then again if not L then...?

The door is unlocked, so Light wanders into the hallway in search of a washroom or Ryuzaki, whichever is found first. The chain drags along the floor behind him, but his buttery footprints already cover the castle floor so Light doesn't bother to pick it up as he goes in a random direction.

No way is Matt saying hello to the fuck who killed Mello and L. He crosses his arms and glares behind the goggles.

It is still a bit shocking, but hearing himself being addressed reasures Light that this is Ryuzaki.

"Hello, Ryuzaki. What were you doing just now? It hardly seems relevent to the case," butter is driping off of his hair, so Light brushes it away from his face.

"It is very possible that you are not where you think you are." L doesn't shrink away, but it's a fight not to. This person is going to kill him.

"I have not yet begun investigating the Kira case, in this time line, whereas Matt has seen it's conclusion."

Well, he hadn't exactly seen it. What with all the angry Japanese men and bullets and dying and everything.

"You die," he tells Light, helpfully. "Pretty fucking painfully, I hope."

"What do you mean you have yet to begin investgating the Kira case? You were right there beside me with these handcuffs." He lifts the other end in emphasis.

What Matt says takes a second to register, but he still doesn't understand why anyone would hope he dies painfully, "Do you mean Kira kills me?"

Heart attacks don't look to pleasing to experience.

"We are from different points in time," he explains, "I don't begin investigation until I am in my mid twenties. You turn out to be Kira."

And L dies.

In any other circumstances, Matt might tease L about the handcuffs thing. As it is, he's resisting grabbing - his shoulder, his wrist, anything.

But he can't think of anything to say that doesn't boil down to 'fuck off you fucking psychopath', so he stays silent. He standing just behind L, right at his shoulder.

"Different points in time? Ryuzaki, you've never been the joking type so, please, elaborate on that," L does look slightly different upon taking a closer look, but how can a person be from a different time?

"You keep saying that I must be Kira, but 'turn out to be'? Are you saying again, that Kira's power passes on to other people, and that I end up with that power? Then sometime after, I die?" If I die, then Ryuzaki must have died too, right? How are we here if we are dead?

"I do not 'keep saying' anything yet, Light Yagami," he doesn't know if he has this in him. He takes a half step back, and nearly collides with Matt.

"Although you are in a better position to know if I will than I am."

"You still haven't explained how we could be from different times, Ryuzaki," Light says taking note of Ryuzaki's strange behavior.

Matt takes a sharp step backwards to avoid collision. But this time he does grasp L's shoulder.

"We're all from different times. I was fourteen when - you and Ryuuzaki worked together."

It is during this time that Konata stopped and hid behind a statue.

Oooh, Light's here! This is going to be fun.

"I'm twenty now." He shrugs, but only slightly; he doesn't want to shake Matt's hand off.

"You are in a place called Hogwarts. Timelines, and different universes converge here. We will walk you to Slytherin. That seems to be where you are destined to stay, given your clothes. You will be able to find a shower, and things."

"I see. A shower would appreciated at this time. Do you stay at Slytherin also?" He asks this last question because the last time Light ever slept alone was while he was behind bars, although at that time it felt as if Ryuzaki was always staring at him. So maybe that doesn't count.

To Matt's statement, "So you know about the investigation? Would I have met you sometime in the future then?" It is still confusing, but after Light has time to think about it on his own things will seem different.

"No. This is the first time we've met."

He's a little stunned about L offering to walk him to Slytherin, but... since when has L ever done what he expected?

"We are in another house, actually, though Slytherin is not the worst option available. It is not far, either. Just this way."

He gestures in the right direction, and starts off, in his own slouching walk. He's still, as Light will probably remember him, barefoot. The main difference is a dark blue sweater.

"I take it you do not remember being Kira?"

Light doesn't find any problem with L showing him where do go, so he follows at L's side. Where he would be if they were still chained together.

"The last thing I remember was working with you to find the Kira at the Yotsuba corperation. We just found out about their secret meetings." He doesn't mention that it is because of Matsuda's idiocy, because they would have found out soon enough without it.

This means nothing to Matt, obviously; he remembers, vaguely, news about the death of several prominent Yotsuba employees, but that's about it.

He trails after them, feeling a little frustrated.

L is looking over his shoulder, making sure Matt is following. The look he gives him, when his head is at an angle where he's sure Light can't see, is purely pleading. Matt is to please stay?

"I know that in the end, you were found guilty of being Kira. At the present moment, you might be without memories of such a thing, but I am 100% certain that it is the case that you are him."

"Last time I saw you, you were 99% certain that I was Kira. You just had no proof then." If Ryuzaki believed that Light is Kira at 100%, then it must be true, even if Light still wants to deny it.

No one has come barging in to arrest him yet though, so unless Ryuzaki is lying about the shower, then things should be okay.

"And now I do." He inclines his head. "Too late, and in a situation where I cannot change anything, with deaths on my conscience, but the certainty is 100%, Light Yagami."

Sorry, Matt, about the death thing.

"It seems strange to me that I would ever want you dead, but that, naturally, isn't the same for Kira. Even though I am Kira."

Kira wants L dead, Light wants L to win, Light is Kira, and this can get confusing fast.

Of course Matt'll stay. He reaches to squeeze L's shoulder again, briefly. (The backrub had worked wonders at making Matt more comfortable with casual touches like these.)

"Give it a rest," he mutters. That's directed at Light.

"Well," L smiles, "you succeed in your objective, whether you understand it or not. I suppose congratulations are in order."

He can make that joke, since he lost the battle, but not the war.

"You shouldn't congratulate your murderer," Light frowns at this added with Matt's apprehenshion.

Light almost feels like apologizing, but that would be hypocritical, so he stays silent.
