Does that even exist in Japan?

Soichiro was in an empty classroom. When I say empty, I mean that there were no other people in the room.

It, however, was extremely cluttered with abandoned books, supplies, other things.

Which made it perfect for what Soichiro was practicing, the 'Accio' spell.

His reasoning was that it would be easier to find what he was looking for if he could bring it to him, and it also could serve as a distraction.

Plus, some of the hexes and curses he wanted to try really should be used under supervision.

So right now, he's testing out the Accio spell. Once it gets too cluttered, he'll try the Banishing spell

"I did. It was apparently part of Light's plan to get the Death Note back. Except now I'm not sure if he-as Kira-had planned for my death in the process. I died only a few hours after getting the eyes."

"I am sorry. He outlived you, then?" It seemed a little stilted - conversation wasn't Rem's strong point - but she had the unpleasant feeling she'd missed an awful lot of important events, dying when she did.

"Not by much. Near or Mello would know more, though." He looked around a bit. "Accio ruler!" The ruler flew and landed in Soichiro's hand.

"I don't believe I know them," she said. "Although those sound like pseudonyms, so I suppose I might not know if I had met them..." There had been a few others at her Sorting who had recognized her for what she was, after all.

"Lean down. I'd rather not get kicked in the knee again for saying this, so I'll whisper in your ear."

She bent down, a little stiffly.

"Nate River, or Mihael Keehl. You definitely did NOT hear this from me." Not that it really mattered, since she's a shinigami and therefore has the eyes, but Soichiro REALLY doesn't want to get kicked.

She nodded slowly. "The first was at my Sorting. He managed to connect me to Misa, and I would rather not draw attention to her," she said. Hence her not following the girl around. It was harder to be crazy-protective when other people could see her.

"Especially considering she may not be acting as Kira at the moment, yes, I see your point. Unfortunately, he was the one that actually saw Light die, if you want that information." He was silent for a minute, then banished a book so hard it thunked against the wall.

"I am... not sure how much information I really want," she admitted.

"At least you had that choice," he muttered.

True, he could have shut out what Near had told him, and continued living in ignorance, and honestly, he's glad to know.

At the same time he wasn't.

"Speaking of Misa, did you find her?"

"We spoke at my Sorting, and I have seen her a few times since then. As I mentioned before, she does not remember me - she actually seems to believe I'm just another of her fans. That may be the safest thing for her to believe."

Soichiro couldn't help but laugh at that. "Misa actually thinks....yeah, let her think that."

"She told me I should get other shinigami to buy her CDs." Rem shook her head. "I was glad that she did not run away screaming, but also a little troubled that she trusts that easily."

Soichiro couldn't really add anything to that, so he settled for Banishing a couple more items and trying Incendio on a scrap of paper. Which he promptly snuffed.
