OOC: While the people below have signed up, this is open for anyone to enter the crazy.

So. It's Valentine's Day. Turlough had rounded up a few house elves to do his bidding. Said bidding was to set up tables with name cards, a table with food and drink (which may or may not be hexed, I couldn't decide), and a sign:

We will not be responsible for anyone fed love potions.

Because someone will.

We also will not be responsible for any actions here on in.

Turlough stood in the corner of the Great Hall, drink in hand, smirk on face as he watched people come on (or forced in by cattleprod point, in Soichiro's case.)

"There's a lot to love about Ed," Winry said softly, unsure what would make this worse and what would turn the conversation back to a safe place. "Just like I'm sure there's a lot that you like about Susan."

Wait, what did Susan have to do with anything? The remark jolted Charles out of his emo reverie a little. Oh, right.

He couldn't help it. With a low hoarse rueful chuckle, he rubbed his forehead. She must think he was talking about Susan, and who could blame her? Logical assumption, right? "Susan's a very nice girl," he said candidly. "A good sport. Tough as nails. I think if I'd known her in my childhood I wouldn't have survived my childhood."

Winry smiled, relieved they had avoided something uncomfortable, and leaned forward as she listened to Charles. "Why do you say that? That you wouldn't have survived, I mean."

"I told you just now about how my sister got turned into a seven-year-old for a little while. Well, Susan got turned into a child too, and Camilla says that Susan went after some other kids with a croquet mallet. I wasn't the best-behaved child myself, so ..." He shrugged one shoulder. "It wouldn't have ended well, I'm sure. What were you and Ed like as children?"

Winry laughed softly, though there was a faint tinge of pink to her cheeks. Chasing the other kids with croquet mallets sounded like something she would do. But then her smile turned slightly melancholy, and she sighed and shook her head.

"We both sort of had a hard childhood," she said softly. "There was a war while we were growing up, and my parents were doctors, so they had to go off to the war."
