OOC: Player change!

Just letting everyone know that with the original Charles-mun's permission, I am taking over the character of Charles Macaulay. Hope I can do him justice! :)

Because the original mun's PB was different from mine (I am using a different journal), please assume no meta between Charles and the other Paul Bettany characters. They may look somewhat alike, but are not, for the purposes of roleplay, identical.

This prompts me to make a related comment on meta in general and the Macaulays in particular, for those unfamiliar:

None of the Paul Bettany characters in the game is physically identical to the others. Silas is a huge albino; Stephen is dark-haired and of average height. In general it's a bad idea to assume that two characters with the same PB are so physically similar that your character would mistake one for the other.

As it happens, Stephen Maturin in HH, when genderswitched, had the same PB as Camilla Macaulay (Cate Blanchett); therefore, when Camilla apped, people wondered whether she might not be an aged-down genderswitched Stephen who'd gotten creative about hair coloring, which was an intentional mistake with the consent of the muns involved. As such, it makes perfect sense for Bettany to be the PB of Camilla's twin brother Charles, and indeed there was some merry misdirection in Camilla's sorting when some comments by Ryuuji led Camilla to believe her reprobate brother might be at Hogwarts teaching potions. Camilla, in-game, has alternately been discomfited by and attracted to this similarity. Camilla-mun and the new Charles player have already discussed this aspect at length, when said player was choosing icons. ;)

However, Stephen and Charles are certainly not identical. Charles is blond, taller than Stephen, and a good 10+ years younger. They would also carry themselves very, very differently.
