OOC: Sorry it's a bit later than I promised. All who were invited to the first meeting of the Slug Club are welcome and encouraged to post. It IS in the Slytherin common room, so univited Slytherins may crash if they wish. Though the description is in prose, I think it might be easiest to role-play this in first person with asteriks. Or however you feel comfortable. Enjoy!

The Slytherin common room is hardly recognizable. Red, pink, and white streamers decorate the ceiling while magical confetti of the same color falls, but disappears before hitting any surfaces. There are several tables full of an assortment of drinks, both alcoholic and virgin, as well as snacks including red, heart-shaped rice crispy treats, bowls full of candy hearts proclaiming things such as 'be mine', trays full of cookies and other delicious

A light, jazzy tune plays in the background, while Slughorn, dressed in a red smoking jacket decorated with white hearts, sits comfortably in an armchair, waiting for the newest Slug Club members to arrive.

Why would someone wait for other people to--oh. Well, it's just recent events. Recent applicants, I should say.

I think I'm rather flattered. *beams* But I don't think those traits are all that rare in my House, either. ...all right, I suppose perhaps they are.

*snickers slightly, giving him a sympathetic look* I was joking. And ah, really? *quickly runs through mental list* ...Which one?

*head tilt, quick grin* Since I meant it as a compliment, or rather, a string of compliments, I'd hope you'd be more complimented than flattered, but hey, whatever works.

And... *considers for a little* They are kinda rare. Especially the very precise manner in which you think. That's definitely more Ravenclaw or Slytherin than Puff.

Susan Sto Helit. It's rather difficult for me to Sort her when I keep thinking about the situation in which I last departed from her prescence. And she makes me so upset, too.

Either works, I think, yes.

Well, I can't really determine why I was Sorted where I was - only suspect, and perhaps be a bit glad - but I can't say it isn't suiting my purpose. Perhaps the Hat had my long-term plans in mind.

Oh? *sympathetic look, reaches out to pat lightly on arm* Well, I voted her for Ravenclaw, I think, so it's unlikely you'll be in a House with her, at least.

One is just better than the other.

*head tilt* It does tend to read your mind and pick out what you want from there, yeah... I'm pretty happy here in Slytherin, even though I have to keep popping up and pointing out we're not all power-mad psychos whenever anyone reverts to stupid stereotypes.

I've got my own quarters now, so all the entire affair'll lead to will be competition. It really isn't going to be much fun, I don't think. *shrug*

And I have to tell people to keep irritatingly useless ones out of my own House. I think it all evens out, though, when you get down to it: the stereotypes are still used, we still get the useless people...unfortunate, really.
