Oh! Well I hope you both have a fantastic time!

Oh yes, that is my ultimate goal but shh, don't tell. Actually, I was curious if you wanted to go shopping for outfits for that night, but would you still want to go shopping even if you won't be there? I have an urge to be girly... and hot. ^_~

Oh, yes! I need to get a nice, little black dress, actually. I'd love to go shopping with you. (And you're always hot, love. ;) ) When and where? Just to Hogsmeade, or did you need to go further afield in your quest for girly, hot clothes?

That would be great! You could do a song with me. Maybe we could even get our favorite doctors (drunk enough?) to sing too!

That's great, I'm quite excited now just about going out and shopping. (Aww thanks!) I'm not sure what Hogsmeade would have, but I've actually never been to London - I haven't tried to go far yet with Apparating, still afraid of splinching myself despite passing the exam - so perhaps we could try both? When would be up to you, I'm not sure what your schedule in the Hospital Wing would be like.

Yeah, I'll just have to see if I can convince Perry. And I do believe that karaoke would be more of a spectator sport with me. Not much of a singer. :)

I'm actually free this afternoon, if you like? We'll head down to Hogsmeade and then, if we don't find anything, go over to London? And congratulations, mate, on passing the exam! Distances aren't such an issue, once you get the hang of Apparating. But, if you're nervous, we can always do a side-by-side. Anyway, just let me know!

Oh no, you have to get up and sing at least one song with me and several more after that! Karaoke is for everyone, not just people who think they can sing. It's better, in fact, when people think they can sing and can't because the laughs to be had are wonderful. I'm ridiculously excited, if you couldn't tell - I used to love karaoke nights in college.

Thanks! I think side-by-side would probably be best, I like my fingers and toes all where they are now.

At five minutes to one, Sarah stood in the entrance hall just before the doors leading outside, finishing off the ice cream cone in her hand. A smile on her face, it was clear she was looking forward to the outing quite a bit. Even without the added hope that perhaps Lily would be back just for karaoke this weekend, she still had not been shopping in quite some time and never further than Hogsmeade in the last nearly five months, except on vacation, so she was excited.

Humming a song under her breath as she finished the last bite, she looked around in expectation of seeing Lily.

Running a little late, Lily rounded the corner and broke into a grin when she saw Sarah. Dressed in jeans and a hooded sweatshirt (https://store.sting.com/images/product/ST-AP-SRT-16.jpg), Lily still had ink stains on her fingers from her research. At least, though, she'd taken time to wash her face and comb her hair. Tugging on a jacket (http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/images/al/alexander-mcqueen-double-breasted-leather-jacket.jpg) - that, in addition to being practical against the chilly Scotland weather, had a handy pocket to hide her wand should they venture into Muggle London - as she walked, Lily shoved the last bite of her lunch/dinner scone in her mouth. "Hello, Sarah," she said after she'd swallowed. "Ready to go?" Lily looked fairly excited, herself. Shopping was always fun, but any time she could spend with Sarah was just doubly so.

((Yay London! Maybe we could just have them give a cursory glance around and then head into the city? And I'm cool with expediting through the description - I'm sure the girls have a lot to chat about! :p))

With a grin to match, Sarah covered the remaining space between her and Lily and hugged her friend excitedly. That she was getting to reconnect with Lily by spending time with her was important, and shopping was always a good way to do that. This would be a fabulous afternoon.

"You bet," she said, and tugged on her jacket (http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2.cgi?PAGE=PRODUCT&PROD_ID=1556315&cid=95284&fp=F), patting the pockets to make certain her wand and cellphone were secure and then headed out the door and in the direction of Hogsmeade. Along the way, she caught Lily up on life lately, including her recent missing-in-action status from taking care of Cleo, who seemed to be doing much better now to the point Sarah could get out to go shopping. The walk did not seem to take long and soon they were in the village.

Also, had Cox come to karaoke, Sarah and Lily could have done Richard Palmer's "Bad Case of Loving You" - that would have amused me to no end. */random share* ))

Returning Sarah's hug, Lily couldn't help but laugh. Merlin, she'd missed spending time with Sarah. And not just because she'd been spending nearly every moment lately drowning in testosterone. She genuinely adored Sarah, and any time they got together Lily could count on having fun. She also enjoyed listening to Sarah's stories - feeling like they were getting a good start on catching up as they enjoyed the autumn air.

As they entered the village, Lily steered them towards the one fairly good clothing shop in town. Browsing amoung the racks, Lily held up a blue dress (http://www.jepboutique.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/Blue%20Dress.jpg) for Sarah's opinion. "I think this is too floaty." Considering it, Lily said casually, "Oh, and Cox and I got a puppy." Having not been able to talk about this yet with a girl, Lily was kind of excited to be able to talk about the implications of a couple getting a puppy with Sarah. She needed a woman's opinion on this sort of thing.

Considering the dress, Sarah nodded. "Yeah, and I was looking for something darker - maybe not black, but in darker shades of colors at least." Picking up another dress, she tipped her head to the side an studied Lily silently for a moment. "A puppy, huh?" she said, lifting an eyebrow just slightly, amused and obviously curious because that revelation had brought to mind the idea of taking care of a pet before someone made a bigger step in taking care of other things or making a bigger commitment. "So... is this one of those serious-and-we-don't-discuss-it steps or were you actually going for the commitment test?"

Lily had been trying to decide if she liked an outfit, or found it hideous (http://www.sawf.org/newedit/edit09192005/nieman_fall_fashion.jpg) - it was a toss up - but at Sarah's question she practically sagged with relief and hopped up on a table. "Right," she started, her absolute thrill over being able to talk about this with someone completely evident in her face. "Here's the thing - I don't know! I mean, Jack and JD got a puppy, yeah? And I was chatting with them, and Jack tells me he can get me a puppy. And I think 'Great!', right? I mean, a puppy! Fun! But then I get this feeling, like I should ask Perry. Why?" Lily snorted and threw her hands up. "Not the foggiest. But I do, so I owl him and...and suddenly my puppy becomes our puppy. And we're picking out a name and talking about who's going to puppy sit and..." Lily looked at Sarah, confusion and not a wee bit of 'freaking out' in her eyes. "I don't know what it means. If it even means anything. Ginger is not good with the talking, which, I'm all right with, normally. I am. But this?"

Again throwing up her hands, Lily picked up a sweater and absently played with the hem. "I just don't know. I mean, I know he cares about me. And I think..." she took a deep breath and smiled softly, looking up at Sarah. "I think I might love him. But what that means, or if I'm in love with him...I don't know. And I've not a clue how he feels about me, really. So...yeah. We have a puppy. His name is Steeler. And I don't know if he's freaking out about it, too, or if he thinks it means something that I don't know it means, or if it doesn't mean anything, and I'm just too naive to know that." Pausing for breath, Lily laughed a little. Embarrassed at her outburst, she held up the sweater and looked at it. "Ginger would look nice in this (http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000BVRRTU.01-A4LKQQKJ91IUZ._AA280_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg)," she murmured, trying to change the subject.
