Open RP, Gryffindor Common Room

After the more or less disasterous events that followed the Doctor owling Claire, the two of them finally wandered back into the common room. "Right then, come on, sit down." He maneuvered Claire into a seat by the fireplace.

"Said I'd get you some tea, didn't I? Tea's good for lots of things, calming frayed nerves being one of them. ...Right, just have to find some tea around here...ah, here we go." With a flick of his wand, a pair of cups and a teapot full of water wandered over, and with another, teabags plopped into it yes, they just happened to all be sitting there. "I could get used to this. Won't be but a few ticks," he added, teapot now over the fireplace.

"I'm sorry," he then apologized. "Didn't mean to drag you into that situation there. You sure you're all right? Good night's rest will do you good."

She grinned, the atmosphere was good enough relaxation for anything, but she wasn't going to put down an offer.

'Well, what are you waiting for Scooby?'

"Damn right I'm a loveable mutt."

Jack wraps his arms round the Doctor's leg and shuffles closer, he was going to annoy the Doctor.

"Now, now, whatever happened to our dear lady? I think she wants some of your attention, too." Because he'd rather see Jack hit on Claire and possibly fail than have him be all clingy and irritating, as he was trying to do.

Claire laughed, she didn't care what happened here; either way she was smiling, and that's all that mattered to her. She couldn't block out the memories of the list though.

But Jack wanted to be irritating, payback for ignoring him earlier.

Still, he lets go and shuffles across to sit by Claire. Giving the Doctor a look that said he'd be back. To Claire he looked up and grinned.

He finished off his tea. A look was shot across the room at Jack, a little friendly warning. Didn't need him hitting on everyone day and night. "Maybe if you're good, I'll rethink giving you that treat."

She giggled at the two of them, 'Yes...?' She said to Jack. Waiting for him.

She was still cold, and sort of shivering, but she wasn't complaining.

"Really?" Jack looks ever hopeful to the Doctor, before snuggling up close to Claire, in some attempt at keeping her warm.

"Maybe." He can't help it, this is all quite amusing, and Jack isn't acting too badly this time. The Doctor smiled at them, even laughing a little. "It looks like you've got yourself a new coat, Claire."

'And isn't it the most stunning coat you've ever seen,' she giggled. 'It was really expensive,' she said, stroking Jack's head.

Isn't acting too badly for now. For now being the important point. He's quite enjoying the attention and sits quietly. Maybe he can be trained...

"Him? Expensive? Nah, all you need is the ability to say 'yes' and some alcohol, and he's all yours. Well, from my experience with him, anyway. Isn't that right, Jack?" he chided.

He's cheap. *mun falls over laughing*

"Yes, Doctor." A pause. "HEY! Not always alcohol." He has some standards.

(XD Jack's so easy to get while the Doctor is so much work?)

He could get used to that. "Usually alcohol, then. Sometimes alcohol. What, all you need is just for someone to say yes, and that's it?"

Get used to having Jack behaving like this? Jack wouldn't complain about following the Doctor round, he would even try and sleep on the end of his bed.

She was giggling at the two men. Her hand was still touching Jack. 'You can just smell the sexual tension,' she joked, smiling at the Doctor.

"Now that just sounds like Rose," he noted with a grin. "You'll have to tell me what it smells like, because I just think it smells like tea and a good time in here. He just likes to flirt whenever he can, with whoever he can. Sometimes it's hard to tell who he's actually interested in."

Jack sighs at the Doctor's comment. Jack swore the Doctor just said things like that to get a reaction from him, then again Jack was just as bad. He would move if he wasn't comfy where he was. "Everyone..." Jack grins.

"Everyone. Somehow, that doesn't surprise me, that you would say that." The grin didn't lessen at the sigh. "What? I'm just calling it as I see it, Jack."

"Does anything I do surprise you?" Jack complained.

Jack raises an eyebrow curiously. "Come on then, name them."

"You certainly surprised me the first time we met. And, hm, there was a time not too long ago, on our way to a cozy little office, when you decided to be sneaky, but I don't think I need to go on about that one."

Jack hadn't thought about asking what the Doctor thought of him when they'd first met.

"How? Not about the office." Jack pulls a face at that, the Doctor hadn't been all fair about that, enough saying Jack could be a tease but the Doctor at that point, worse. "What about how we first met?"

"You pulling the whole 'oh, I'm an ex-Time Agent and a conman' thing? Not to mention that you very quickly admitted such a thing to us. And that riding the bomb thing you did. I think someone's seen too many movies."
