Dear Lilly,
I don't know if you remember me from Dr. Crane's Sorting - Laura Palmer, friend of Logan's. I know he said he'd already owled you about this, but the plot's thickened a bit and I felt I should give you a heads-up.

I'm one of the postdead girls who's been getting creepy attention from Ichimaru Gin. Logan agreed to 'accidentally' interrupt a walk by the lake and did so; we used your and his very messy, public relationship problems of the other week as my excuse for leaving to 'look after poor Logan.' Trouble is, I should've used the name of that girl Veronica he dated while you were gone, but I blanked on it and used yours by reflex. Too honest, I guess. (The upside is if he checks around, there's plenty of witnesses to that 'messy breakup' here at school.)

Logan said you weren't overly concerned about Gin approaching you, but I'm afraid after tonight you may be hearing from him sooner rather than later. He said you were putting your trust in the no-kill spell; I think I should remind you, as one dead girl to another, that to the right kind of sadist the chance to do any damage you want to your victim with a guarantee they won't die on you and spoil all the fun is a bonus.

Remember I said mine was a long and depressing story? That's it in a nutshell - I had to die to get out of what he'd been doing to me for years. So yeah, maybe I'm overreacting - Oz thinks so - but I'd rather we both be safe than sorry, you know?

I'm attaching copies Logan magicked up for me of the owls Susan Sto Helit sent me about Gin. If he does come on to you, please be careful. His moods can turn on a dime, I've seen him do it. And I'm sorry I put him onto you, I'm kicking myself right now.

Glad to hear that. If anything develops on your end, would you let me and/or Susan know? I'd *really* like to know what he's up to - only, y'know, without any of us actually having to get caught up in it.
